prop size
Hi I have a question for the rc pros out there.I have a chance to buy a couple of three blade props from a friend I know, but was wondering if they will work with my motors. they are 24x10's and I have a pair of planes with DLE 111 on them and when I looked up info on my motor it didn't say anything about swinging 24 inch props. This guy says he had them on a DA 100 and should be fine on my motors......is he right or not? thanks guys I know you will have the right answer for me. RE: DLA 112 gas engine
hi thanks for the reply! I should have youtoobed or googled the DLA engines first but they look and sound and seem to run very well from what Ive seen. I live in the midwest Omaha Ne to be exact and we have a great club of 150 members strong. I fly 30cc size planes now but am going to jump up to 100cc size here real soon and the DLA 112 looks like it will probably be my next engine bought. happy flying to you!

DLA 112 gas engine
Has anyone out there heard of these DLA 112 gas engines? and does anyone own one? they look pretty cool with the anodized heads on them and they are a whooping 20 bucks cheaper than a DLE 111 and those I know run well several members in my club fly them. I'm looking at going bigger yet again and have been looking around for motors. thanks r/c world!

RE: HobbyKing OrangeRx Futaba FASST Compatible 8Ch 2.4Ghz Receiver
Brain I have no idea how to tell them apart, but it's nice to know you can pair them together. Is there anyway you could send me those instructions that came with your receiver's? mine came with none. If you could great if not that's fine to. Thanks for the reply!

RE: HobbyKing OrangeRx Futaba FASST Compatible 8Ch 2.4Ghz Receiver
Brian,Hey those come factory set in high mode for digital servo's. So if you want to switch them for analog servo's you have to put power to the receiver and hold down the bind button for about 8 seconds and the red light that is blinking fast will now blink slow indicating it's in analog mode. P.S make sure the transmitter is off when you do this. Just went flying today and it's the fourth flight on these receiver's and so far I'm impressed they havent had one glitch or mistake at all, not once. and I'm flying with the 6ex,how's that new 8 channel radio they came out with working? lots of bells and whistles? happy flying

RE: HobbyKing OrangeRx Futaba FASST Compatible 8Ch 2.4Ghz Receiver
Ian Hi what's up? the way I got those for twenty bucks was if you pull up something you want to buy on hobbyking and let the page sit there for a short while and soon you will see hobbyking throw a box out in the corner saying "Ive been noticing you have been looking at this item for awhile" and if you buy now we will give it to you at this price but only a one time deal and if you close that box the offer is gone for good. and when they did that it was for 19.99 and you had a option to buy up to 10 of them. So I hope this helps Scott

RE: HobbyKing OrangeRx Futaba FASST Compatible 8Ch 2.4Ghz Receiver
Hi I ordered two fasst receiver's from hobby king and got them 40 days later ugh! any way both binded in a matter of seconds and all was well with them.I have only flown a small electric with one of them and it range checked fine and flew fine for me. No lose of signal what so ever! I flew it for two batteries worth of time so at least twenty minutes easy. I have yet to move it to anything bigger until I have at least 10 flights on both of them but so far so good! My friend says you have to program them for etheir analog or digital but that hasn't effected me during flying so who knows? they come with no instructions and the only thing I can bitch about was the sticker that shows your channels was off by one on both of them and it was a matter of removing the sticker and placing it in the right place. I hope this helps you with your decision on buying these,I totally recommend them and you can get them for as low as 20 bucks enjoy! and happy flying! Scott

RE: NITROS SUCK BAD!! WOW, REALLY BAD!!!
Yes I see your point! But lets not forget the ESC"S, at least your good one's cost alot! A decent motor costs alot!and let's not mention the batteries.and while they have all the torque in the world, your still landing in ten minutes while I'm flying laps around your bird waiting for you to recharge or put another battery(more money)in your plane. And I'm sorry but any true modeler loves the smell of burning nitro! and if tuning is that hard for you to do have you ever thought of gas? Now that's real flying when your plane has 120 inch wing span and swings a 26 inch prop!and yes you still have to tune the gas one's too. Not trying to cause waves with anyone but I'm just saying there's two sides to every story.

RE: canopy for tiger 60
Thanks for the reply! I had the tiger 40 and loved it and ended up selling it. Then this fall I picked up a tiger 60 with retracts built in and all it needed was to be covered, and now that is done and all I need is a canopy. So I will keep looking but might have to do your idea. Happy flying to you!

C.G on great planes giles 202G
Hi, I bought a Great Planes Giles 202G 1/4 scale from my local auction and have it just about ready to fly and was wondering if anyone out there has or know's of the planes C.G? I googled the plane and found out that it has been discontinued for some time now. Also I put a 26cc motor in it instead of a 1.60-1.80 as the original planes say to do,not that it would matter much I wouldn't think. If anyone could help me out I would really appreciate it! Thanks Scott

RE: need voltage regulator?
Hi Dennis thanks for the reply.I have the rectangular shape battery and it is 1800 mha two cell, I got it through advantage hobby they are fairly new and there was a article about them in last months issue of model aviation.their called a liFe battery and they are from the lipo family they have superior memory retention and are suppose to be the best receiver battery out there right now. If you don't mind send me a link to the battery your using, you say they are centrical shaped? I have have got a few responses from people about the voltage regulator and finally one from futaba and they say the receiver and servo's will be O.K with this battery. hope your flying weather is better than ours very windy right now take care Scott

RE: need voltage regulator?
John thanks for the reply.and yes it's 6.6 volts each cell is 3.3 volts because it's a liFe battery. it's in the lipo family, there are suppose to be one of the best receiver battery's out there. you can find them at tower hobbies or at advantage hobby.also there was a article in the last month's issue of model aviation on them. they have superior memory retention and perform way better than a ni-cd or nimh packs do. Like i said in my posting tower hobbies web site says that it is fine to run with out a regulator and so far from me hooking it up and playing with the servo's it has worked just fine. but for piece of mind I was still thinking of putting a regulator just to be safe. I know you have to step the voltage down when you are running lipo packs or when your reaching 7.4 or higher, but was wanting to know what other people thought of this. thanks again for the reply Scott

need voltage regulator?
I bought a new liFe 6.6 volt 1800 mha battery and was wondering if I need a voltage regulator to step down the voltage in my plane. I'm using a futaba 6ex radio with a R617FS receiver powering 5 futaba 3003 servo's. the guy at hobby town says no as does tower hobbies web site. If any one can give some more assurance I would appreciate it.thanks scott

stryker motor conversion
Hi I bought a stryker F27A from my local auction and it came with the standard brushed motor and it seems to fly well but I think the motor is shot and is going out, so I bought the brushless motor mount for it and was wondering what motor I could buy for it besides the parkzone motor (that costs 55 bucks) I'm sure some one out there has converted their stryker over to brushless, I know I need a brushless esc for it to. would a exceed motor from hobbypartz work or turnigy motor work? So if any one can give me some info I would really appreciate it thanks scott

e-flite male/female adaptors
Hi, I bought some of those e-flite male/female adaptors for my new lipo batteries and i can't figure these things out. I've tried sliding the wire through and then soldering the bullet on but that didn't seem to work ether if any one can give me some advice I would really appreciate it thank you Scotty
