RE: Andy Sheber Pitts s1s
Ok Robert. Now I'm almost sick with envy. Not only would I LOVE to have the Andy sheber pitts, but the vogelsang pitts is my dream of dreams plane. I've looked at that for years and drooled. Good for you. Can't wait to watch that build.what will you be powering it with?

Well, at least we know it will end up being P E R F E C T. Can't wait to see it finished, no matter how long it takes.

I got hitec 645's on everything except throttle. I forget what I got for the throttle, but it's a bit smaller.i like the high torque servos.

I don't mind waiting. In fact, I have much respect for you. A lot of guys would have said, " you won't really see it, only ill know it's there". But that's all you would see if you left it. Thanks. Steve.

RE: Bridi Rearwin speedster build?
It took a whole 5M roll to do the wings. With the scrap from that and a 2M roll I think I can get it done. And I'm hoping I have enough cream colored fabric to do the trim. I still have to try to match the paint for the fiberglass parts. Still away off yet. I'll be happy to maiden it by end of June. It was a last minute project. I finished my winter project too early and didn't plan to build this till this winter.. Steve

RE: Bridi Rearwin speedster build?
I believe the wheel planet and cowl are the originals that came with the kit. I think I ordered vintage red but they sent me red. Who knows, maybe I didn't order the vintage red and thought I did. I'm considering doing the pinking, but that would take a long time. Well see. I have to wait anyway for the other roll of covering. Thanks for watching. Steve.

RE: Unidentified Yellow Bipe!
Interesting setup for the upper wing saddles. Kind of an odd looking bipe. But that don't mean I don't like it.

DSM2 lockout?
hi guys. im wondering if alot of people are experiencing problems with DSM2 rx`s. three guys at my club in the last few weeks had planes go in due to lockout/ brownout. all three of them had the spektrum DSM2 recievers. one of them was a 33% extra on a maiden flight. i feel for him. i personaly have never once had a single glitch, knock on wood, but its got me worried. i have AR7000`s in all my planes. just wondering if you all were seeing the same types of things. thanks, Steve.

RE: No one knows about rigging?
The build is going well. If I had to guess, I'd say about 65 % done. It's not a bad kit, the plans aren't too bad, and the wood is descent quality. I'm mounting a OS 70 FL four stroke. I think it will do alright. I don't know, maybe I won't install any rigging, I just think it looks so good. Either way, I can hardly wait to fly it. Grumble huh? We should go fly em when there done. I'm right in Bristol. Happy landings.

RE: No one knows about rigging?
I appoligize. I didn't mean to get any one worked up, I just like the way they look. The model is a Champion aero models co., stampe sv4. .60 size plane. The kit didn't come with any parts list or manual. All that I have is the original tower hobbies receipt, and the picture on the box. I know that the plane doesn't need them, I just like the look. The only thing I was asking was for some ideas.

RE: No one knows about rigging?
Btw, what is considered vintage? The plane wasn't designed in 1981, the kit was purchased then. I believe the plane was first built in the 30's

RE: No one knows about rigging?
Yeah, your probably right that no one probably knows. I don't know if it is supposed to have it or not, the kit came without any instruction and a lot of the ones that I saw did have rigging. I probably don't even need it for functioning purposes, only personal preferences. I'm sorry if this post came off as rude, it really wasn't intended to, I've just never had no one reply. I have done a lot more research on the matter and I think I answered my own question. Thank you.

No one knows about rigging?
All I was hoping for was for some one to maybe put up a couple of close up pics of how they did it, and possibly a tip or two, like what you used for the wire. Being my first vintage kit build, I'm kind of left to guess on a lot of this and just don't want to mess up a brand new 35 year old plane.

Real nice hog man. I also have an old hog that I absolutely love to fly. And I think your right. Tha smaller ones are harder to fly.dont think about it, just start it and fly, and before ya know you'll be right back where you left off. Happy landings.

Vintage stampe sv4 questions
Hey guys, I just finally started to build my vintage (1983) champion models, Davey stampe sv4, and have a few questions pertaining to wing struts, and rigging. If anyone can help it would sure be appreciated.also I'm wondering about top wing incidence, and if I can make it at zero instead of the one degree that the manufacturer recommends to help with inverted flight. Some of my other bipes with top wing incidence don't really like to fly inverted. Thanks in advance for the knowledge. Steve.

Stampe rigging
Hi fellow fliers, I just bought and started building a vintage (1981) champion models stampe sv4 kit, and are wondering about the rigging. In 1981 they really didn't give you much information, not like the kits of today. Any way, this certainly isn't my first kit build, but it is however my first vintage bipe with rigging. My question is how do you rig it, and have it look scale, and still be able to remove the wings for transport? If anyone has done this, or something similar, and would be willing to email me some pics and ideas, that would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Davey Systems Stampe SV4 kits
The kit was made by champion aero works. I just bought the original unopened kit still with the receipt from tower hobbies from 1981. I'm really excited to be building such a beautiful vintage bipe.

RE: The real story with CG
I balanced the plane neutral and it flies perfectly. As far as the hovering, well I would agree that ot just takes a lot of practicing. I'm getting it though. Thanks for all of your input.

RE: Twist 60 knife edge?
Yeah, I have a DX8 and I've already been doing that for all of my warbirds seeing that they almost all sink like a rock once you slow one wing down. I already have some mixed in there, but I'll add a bit more and see how that works out. Thanks a lot for taking the time to answer my questions.

RE: Twist 60 knife edge?
Yeah, I've been moving the CG back and forth all day and trying different things I got it a little better. I can at least knife it now. Pretty sloppy though. I read a couple of other reviews where people say the same thing. What kind of mixing are you talking about? Like adding up or down elevator with rudder?

RE: Twist 60 knife edge?
Now I'm pretty new to 3D flying, but I have been flying for a few years. I have an edge 540 that will knife for ever. It just won't hold it. It either wants to roll, or turn, or something. It's probably a mixture of my lack of skill, and a new plane. Does it have anything. To do with the over size wing? Man that thing is big. My expo is set at 65 and every thing else is good.

Twist 60 knife edge?
I recently maidened my twist 60, and after adding some lead to the tail and getting it balanced as best I can, it flies nice and level either upright or inverted, but really hard to knife edge. I have planes with much less 3d Capability that will knife edge a lot better. Does any one else notice that, or is it my set up is off? Other than that no complaints.great flying plane.

RE: The real story with CG

The real story with CG
Ok, so, I've been flying rc for my whole life, but to 3d flying, I'm a newb. I've been getting conflicting answers as to CG. Some say you want an aft CG to perform a lot of maneuvers, and some say you want a balanced model. I'm sure there's a fine line , and a lot of it is opinion, but what's your thoughts on it. Thanks in advance for the knowledge.
