RE: Reds in decline.
Classic case of the SUN getting it wrong again. 2012 they will display 7 up, with 9 flying for major events 2013 they will be back up to 9 for the whole season. The official reason (as i'm led to believe) is a pilot was called up for service. I'm sure there is someone around who will give the full version. But take the sun article with a pinch of salt as always.

Anyone got any photos of the Canberra in the background? It was my dads here in the UK for a number of years and did the flying circuit at the UK shows before she was sold to the museum down there. Any current pictures would be appreciated. Chers Steve PS I had a very fun flight in her many moons ago!!
ORIGINAL: Selleri Next up is the Cmelak by Airworld, interesting model that always seem to draw a crowd when it appears. Some may remember [link=http://modelflug.net/myndir/displayimage.php?album=10&pos=5]the pink one Stuart Mackay[/link] had (still has?) some years ago. This one has been modded to represent the turboprop version and I believe the SPT5 has quite a big prop as it's really quiet. One can't really do the airframe justice without lot of pictures. RE: 120SE Issue
Back to the topic. Thanks for the PM bob. I hope this is not seen as a dug at Jetcat, all I wanted was some feedback if other have had this problem. As I said I'm happy with the Jetcat service I have had. It's just this underlying feeling that I didn't cause this turbine to breakup. I've happily paid for the repair........but should I of. At the end of the day I'm glad

120SE Issue
I've had my SE from new, it's got 8hrs runtime and is flown in a Boomerang XL. The other week I felt it was down on power, so I landed and checked the fuel system over, couldn't find a fault. Got home and stripped the engine out to find 3 fins from the compresser missing. The turbine has had a FOD guard all it's life and flies off clean flat tarmac here in the UK. I assumed that FOD must have got in somewhere. As a loyal Jetcat customer I sent the turbine off to Germany for repairs. To give Jetcat credit they have turned it around and done the upmost to get it returned to me quickly so I can fly in the UK show circuit. I have paid in full for the repairs. However............... Upon stripping the motor down I noticed that there was a dent in the FOD screen, not from the assumed side but from inside out as if something came out from the engine. I have now been informed that there may have been issues with the diffuser breaking up on SE versions at around 8hrs (this is word of mouth and not confirmed.) Can anyone shed some light on this, i have paid for this repair when perhaps it should have been under warranty. Obviously this has left a very sour taste in my mouth with regard to Jetcat, apart from their service which was excellent. Hopefully someone can shed some light on this situation. Cheers Steve

I've built 2. One for me with a 120-SE, another with the 160. Both built up without lead, however both are using Nimh right up the nose. How far forward have you mounted your turbine?? Steve

RE: Bae Hawk, Skymaster or Fei Bao
I must of had a friday afternoon Fei Bao Hawk then. Aweful quality, wood was very poor, and the UC was a very bad design. I've seen skymaster and jet legends kits and they seem much better engineered and the quality if far superior. Just my opinions though as other say the quality of Fei Bao is good. Steve

RE: Help - tell me about this...
I was trialing these for Ali. It's what the German guys are using on their big toys now. My installation i in a Boomerang XL, and to date has been 100% reliable. Use it like a UAT. Top tube goes to the main tank, one tube from the side runs to the centre of the tank, the other is short. Long tube = Main feed to the pump. Short Tube = Fill. Therefore you'd have to run this 1/2 dry before any air gets into the system. No filters to slow the fuel delivery to the pump and turbine, thus no possibility of bubbles in your fuel. Don't need to barb the tubes, they are a good fit over Tygon, I just wried them. Mount horizontal, othwise you'll have draining issues when trying to fill. Hope this helps Steve

RE: Weatronic Introduction - A Video
ORIGINAL: ddennison Hi guys, I have one more question - I thought I remembered reading somewhere on RCU (months ago??) that there may have been an issue with the time delay and failsafe when switching over from the primary battery to the secondary battery? Was this ever an issue with this receiver? Thanks again for the information. Dave
This was updated in a firmware upgrade. Any software issues are very easily resolved this way, plus you get loads of new features like the sequencer in there. All free and easy to install. Steve

RE: Feibao Bae Hawk
It would be able to fly it. Certainly you won't get a take-off from grass. Mine came out at 24lbs dry, so the 70 would be marginal. I fly with a P80 and could do with more. Steve

RE: Has Anyone flown a Fei Bao Jet?? Love to hear from you.
UC issues here in the UK. I'm hoping it's just a 1 off. Put it this way they expect a 24lbs model to land on 1/2mm aluminium in the UC. Not good. Steve
