RE: US Scale Masters Results 2012
Warks...I have emailed both Bernie and Mike prior to this post....and I expressed my concerns in Indiana. Using the normalization did change the outcome and finish for a couple of guys. Ed Newman

RE: US Scale Masters Results 2012
OK....I guess I am one who doesn't like the normalization....especially in static. Seems to me it makes the contest a "flying" contest. Some guys may build better than 2% than the next guy...and in many contests there may be 2 or 3 static scores that are the same. What do you do then? I won't attend another one with normalization. Just my 2 cents worth.

RE: Macchi 202/205 RC plans and 3dmodel
Nick, I enlarged the plans to 1/4 scale. I DID NOT enlarge the tail or vertical. Plane flys excellent as is. There are videos of the plane flying on you tube. The MAN plans have some issues. The cowl shape is not correct and I modified the plan "shape" of the wing to match the 3 view I used...but wasn't off much. I used the plan airfoil for the wing and stab. Now working on a larger version so I can use a big Moki radial on it. Still want a set of the 202 plans ! Ed

RE: Macchi 202/205 RC plans and 3dmodel
Thanks Jay, I used 2 deg pos in the wing. Tail at 0 deg. Engine at 0 deg. 2 degrees of washout. Same airfoil that is on the plans. You still building the 200? Ed Newman

RE: Macchi 202/205 RC plans and 3dmodel
Hi Nickhuang, I built the 200 in 1/4 scale and love the plane. Very interested in your plans. You know the left wing is a little longer than the right ? Have started a larger version of the 200 for a radial. I will be watching your progress. Ed Newman

RE: ARFs in SCALE CONTESTS
Hi Guys, I have read the thread and want to post my 2 cents worth. It won't be popular. In NO WAY should ARF's be allowed to compete at any major contest in any form. I define an ARF as any plane taken out of a box that is covered with monokote or film of some sort. I do not want to travel half way across the country to see an ARF fly. I can do that at my local field any day of the week. Just imagine you are looking at a 24 hour drive home on a Sunday afternoon....and having to wait on 4 or 5 ARF's to fly before it's your turn, quite frankly its enough to make you want to stay home next time. Hope my opinion is clear. Ed Newman
