RE: Warbirds Over Livermore the Movie
ORIGINAL: Chris Nicastro Awesome! Love the epic soundtrack! Did you take your Mustang out there? Was the B-25 a Ziroli kit? Thats was very cool in blue.
1+ on the soundtrack. Very nice field indeed, I'm unable to fly half my warbirds at the local field do to a 400ft. runway. The Ziroli Hellcat was nice too.

RE: Engine suggestion for 1/4 Cub
I'd suggest a Zenoah G-23, it has a mag so no worries about another battery to charge. Its a Zenoah so its extremely reliable and will last forever. Its alittle heavier than the chinese engines so you should'nt have to add dead nose weight. It runs all day on a 14 oz. tank and will fly a 1/4 Cub at scale speeds. And yas, they hand start.

Thats a Damn shame, he came in way too hot and caught the wheel pants. Atleast he did'nt brake the prop. It was a real nice flight.

RE: good 30cc engines???
The most bullet proof and reliable, the Zenoah G-38, but for lots of power the PTE36R will fit the bill.

Amazing how that plane ended up in Tenn. I saw it in Southern GA. I looked at it hard and decided it was'nt worth the $500 for all the work to get it looking decent. Good-luck with it.

RE: Removal of Comment
Unfortunately, it takes more than one bad engine and one modeler to slander a manufacture. I had a Ford Pinto that was nothing but trouble, but that does'nt mean Ford makes junk, based on my experience. You do have to be careful about what you say on social networks. Words are powerful and you need to choose them wisely.

RE: Question??
ORIGINAL: Mr-Punk Hey Guys and Gals, first time poster long time reader. I was hanging at the flying field today and me and 2 other guys were flying and chatting a bit and got into a small debate about the origins of flight.  We didn't know if it was 1903 or 1904 when the Warner brothers made the first powered flight with a human on board..  I thought it was 03 other guy thought it was 04.  The engine was a issue too.  I thought it was a early Ford engine before ford became a company.  The other guy figured it was a early Briggs b4 he met Stratton.   I'm really glad whenever with whatever engine they did it with in Kitty Hawk SC they they made that flyer fly. :-)  All I know the 3 of us had fun today.  I have my 4-star 40 with os46 the other guy has a big stik 40 with a Magnum 46 and the other other guy has an electric helicoper that is pretty sweet. Peace, J
It was December of 1903 the first ever recorded manned flight by Wilbur and Orville Wright, a couple of bicycle mechanics, but it was Charles Taylor who made the engine for the Wright Flyer the flew for 26 seconds on that faitful day in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. In December of 2003 in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina there was a 100th Aniverary of Flight where a full scale replica of the Wright Flyer attempted to fly at the ecat moment 100 years ago. The weather was uncooperative and it did'nt happen.

Zenoah G-38's come stock with an RCJ8 in a Champion, but I would convert it to an NGK. Any autoparts store can do this. Oh, and gap it at .020

RE: Large 1/4 scale RC tank
ORIGINAL: ausf It's just as guess, but I bet the OP has a quarter scale RC plane or two... I'd love to coordinate planes and tanks on a battlefield, but it's hard to match up existing scales, most smaller planes available are built to wingspan, so actual scales are all over the place.
Your right, but maybe 1/5 would be more accessable. I'm looking for gasoline powered though, not electric. Are there any 1/5 or even 1/6?

RE: Learn to fly ASAP
With the advancements in simulators today, Realflight etc. kids are pretty much soloing the same day they take there first actual flight. Now with parkflyers that almost fly themselves, some newcomers to Model Aviation are not even with instructors and are flying. The buddy box system is a great tool, but even it is old school.

RE: Zenoah Gt80 w/EI-hard to start when hot
I've got a 1/3 scale Super Cub with the GT-80 on RCxcel ignition with the CM-6 plugs. This engine is stuffed in the cowl tight, no room for anything in there, anyway, it starts when I want it to, shuts down with the throttle trim and will fire right back up usually on the first flip. Maybe your over heating it, or improper cooling, remember, twice the exit as intake for cooling.

RE: Vailly Aviation 1/4 scale Stinson L5
The Sentinal is a great choice as it flys different from a Cub, but still a high wing. The wings are two piece and held inplace by a thumb twist inside the cabin. The struts are definitely functional so follow the plans just like Roy designed them. If you can build a T-6 Texan, then you will have no trouble with the L-5.
