RE: hope 50 mph rc sled
Looking nice sokey! I home my front susp. can look that seamless when I get to it. I'm just making a few more tweaks to the rear before I move on.

RE: Skidoo Rev XP snowmobile hop-up
Probably close to two feet, maybe 18-20 inches. I'm on the Kenai Peninsula, we have mountains on all sides that block most of the snow. But, a little south of me, in Anchor Point they have 4 foot drifts of pure powder. Lets see, if I took my REV down there, thats 28 scale feet of snow!

RE: Skidoo Rev XP snowmobile hop-up
Ya, over the past 2 days we just got like 14 inches of snow, and it's snowing outside right now pretty hard! Need to finish this! Oh, and I completely finished the rear suspension, just need to stop out at Morgan's Steel and pick up the aluminum. Next up, motor mount and belt drive, and the track drive wheel. Hurricane-fibers, any tips on this part?

RE: Skidoo Rev XP snowmobile hop-up
I thought of that too, but I realized that when the suspension is pushed up, the track goes straight to the drive wheel, and it doesn't touch the swingarm. Although, in the event that does happen I am going to be rounding the edges down so it slides over it. It's easier to see when the suspension is actually mounted, and at the rate I'm going that should be done soon if my supplies can be kept in stock, eg. nuts, washers, allthread, aluminum strips to support the tunnel, and so on. Hopefully, because of my perpetual laziness, one and a half to two weeks.

OK, holes are drilled in the swingarms, I promise pics will be up tonight! The front suspension peice is done, now I need to get more all-thread, nuts, and washers to finish the rear suspension peice.

Oh, never mind about the aluminum strips. I just had an apiffinany; cut a line down the aluminum so I can move the whole suspension back, like a tensioner system for the track. Anyone follow me?

Well, I've got an idea for shock mounting, now I just need to fab up some swingarms. I've got the blueprints drawn, if anyone wants to see them.

RE: Skidoo Rev XP snowmobile hop-up
Thanks for the support man, maybe we can collaborate on this effort. So far, I've been working on a suspension setup modeled on the FAST M-10 system, my only issue being dampeners. For the motor mount and suspension "slides" (Not really slides as the track rests on the wheels). I'll try and get pictures up of my blueprints and cardboard mock-ups. So far, everything looks good, I just need a belt system and short enough dampeners.

Hey guys, another update; today I'm going to try and have holes cut for the shock mounts and the bolts to hold the slides together. I'm not sure if he's gonna let me because I haven't done my safety tests for this semester yet.

Well, I wasn't going to pursue it if there isn't one on the market. But, thank you for being understanding and being supportive of this new pilot. I love my helicopters much more than my fixed-wings!

RE: 11.1v tether
Well, the only heli pilots close by are in Anchorage, a three-hour drive from where I live. Even then, I don't see that as being worth the drive, just to ask little questions like that, especially when I'm still in school, weekends are my only option. But, thanks for the support. I appreciate it.

RE: 11.1v tether
Well, I would ask a local person; but unfortunately, I live in Alaska, a state where RC just isn't as popular as in other states. I do have a local flying club, but they're all older guys, set in the ways of fixed-wing, not rotorcraft. You guys are my only good source of info. For the record, though, hovering came pretty easy to me. Something about playing COD:BO online and working up my hand-eye coordination and reflexes...

RE: 11.1v tether
Woah Woah Woah Woah... I leave for a day and this happens? I'm not a noob pilot, I have at least twenty stable hovers on a blade CP under my belt. I recently built a HK450GT Pro with full Align 35A ESC and 430L motor, hxt900 cyclics and a 9257 clone servo on the tail with a 401 Futaba gyro (Not a clone) to top it off. I didn't want to charge the batteries midflight, but rather only have the batteries on for weight balancing purposes. Just have the tether plugged straight into the ESC, so no overcharging. I said to have it at 11.1v so the tether would act like a fully charged lipo, not charging the battery while in the air. Sorry for any misunderstandings, I just wanted to see if you guys thought it is already available or makeable.

11.1v tether
Hey guys, do you know of anyone that makes a selectable-voltage tether station for begginers? Like, if it plugged into the wall, converted 120v down to 11.1 or lower, maybe even higher for a 500-600 size copter.
