RE: M4A1
YHR how did you create the texture on your tank? Also, how did you do the "Berlin or Bust" lettering on the tank ? It looks great !

How do you open tracks on HL Pershing ?
I want to open the tracks on my HL pershing; but I don't know how, and I don't want to break them. It seems the only how-to articles I can find relate to the Tiger.

RE: just got a great deal off Evilbay
Hey Biggie Mig; if your intent was to make me feel like a schmuck, you haven't succeeded ! I'm trying to share my hobby with my 13 year old son, and upgrading this tank is a father and son project that he is looking forward to. Since YOU are such an expert on finances, maybe you would like to share some investment tips with the rest of this forum !

RE: just got a great deal off Evilbay
I have already ordered a S&S upgrade kit from Phil at RCtankwars for my Pershing. I don't like the way the non S&S handles, and I'm hoping the upgrade will smooth it out. It also just isn't the same without the sound.

RE: just got a great deal off Evilbay
My Pershing arrived today and I already opened it to check the inside. The tank is a basic non- S&S model, but I am still thrilled with it. It is so much easier to open up than my Tiger. There is no need to remove the tracks to get inside! My first project will be to upgrade the electronics. I won't bother installing a smoker though, because I find them messy and unimpressive.

RE: just got a great deal off Evilbay
Hi Flyn Chris I was hoping you were going to say yours came with an RX18 like Dmon's Bulldogs did. I'm still looking forward to mine arriving. I was considering giving it to my son, to try and get him involved in the hobby. Don't forget to leave this vendor a feedback on his eBay account.

I just ordered a Pershing from this vendor on eBay. I hope I will be as lucky as Dmon1996 was with his Bulldog. I could not resist the price of $50.00 and free shipping.

RE: just got a great deal off Evilbay
This vendor on eBay has bargain tanks listed again. Camo Tigers for $60.00 and Pershing for $50.00 and free shipping. They are listed as basic non S&S versions, but at those prices; would make a nice project for the winter ahead.

RE: 3:1 low ratio gearbox
I got the gears on eBay from a vendor named Tankworkshop, and he is located in the UK. I have ordered many items from him, and I have never waited more than four days to recieve my item. These gears were a bit pricey; they cost $75.00 US. dollars, but are well worth ther investment. My tank now feels like an RC vehicle, rather than a toy!

3:1 low ratio gearbox
I was trying to decide if I should buy another tank, or buy a low ratio gearbox for my Tiger I. This was a tough decision, because both are about the same price! I finally decided to go with the gearbox, and I'm very happy with the result. The tank now moves much more responsively and realistically. There were only two snags with the installation. First, one of the mountings in the tank was stripped, so I replaced the screw with a slightly larger one; and that seems to have done the trick. Second, I had to drill the holes in the sprockets slightly larger, because the allen bolts are bigger .

Yes. That's what I did. I figured it's more important to cool the board, than produce smoke that is barely visible.

Tiger I stripped threads
I am going to replace the gearbox in my Tiger; and I suspect the threads in the plastic hull that the screws go into are stripped. How do you restore the threads so the screws hold? I do not want to purchase a new hull.
