RE: Throttle Servo?
And the winner is Binding. That was the problem. I didn't realize that slight binding could heat up a servo so quick. I disconnected the throttle spring and the idle screw and replaced the throttle rod. I used end point adjustments to make sure there was no resistence on the servo at both ends. Thanks everyone for your imput. You learn alot on these forums. Superfli

RE: Great Planes Supersportser crash.
I have not talked to him since. I removed his phone number from my cell as well. Most people at the field that know him also know what a jerk he can be. If I ran into him I might smile but will have nothing to do with him. Superfli

RE: Hobbico Starter
If you want a good stong starter cut the end off you cheap Hobbico starter and then put it in the drill of you Craftsman Cordless 18v drill. It will even spin gas engines. Very easy fix.

RE: Great Planes Supersportser crash.
Even with identical planes in the air at the same time it is up to the pilot to keep track of thier plane. All in all I think that this is what actually happened. He took his eye off his plane and in that moment crashed his plane. In my opinion it was entirely his fault. This is one friend a person really doesnt need.

Great Planes Supersportser crash.
Last night I went to the field to fly my foam G.P. Supersportster. Another guy at the field has the same plane. We were both flying on 2.4 radios. My radio is a Tatic 4 channel his is a Futaba 6 channel. When he goes to fly his plane and the first 2 attempts the plane noses over on take off. I figured the reason was the grass was a little high. The 3rd attempt and he is up and flying. I then place my plane on the flight line and take off. Well I no sooner get my plane in the air and I hear his plane crash. I quickly land mine and I walk over with him to his and he starts blammimg me for shooting his plane down. He says my plane crossed in front of his and cut off his signal. I never even saw his plane while I was flying mine. Any one ever heard of this?

RE: Maxford mentor g
I have had one of these for about a year. I am in the process of recovering mine. I have a 25cc Berelli conversion on mine. Has always flown well. My suggestions would be to install Hi Torq servos. Also install nylon hinges or Robart hinges. The CA hinges will not hold up. You will like this plane.

RE: Giant Supersportster Maiden
Well I pulled the throttle servo last night. It really seemed to be all right. I replaced it with a HiTec servo. Everything seems to work allright at this point. I am hopping to get this back up on Sunday. I have to say that this plane and the DLE30 seem to be a perfect match. Superfli

That could be it. It is a inexpensive standard tower servo. I'll check that out tonight.

RE: Pheonix Sonic 25 Low Wing
Dont be afraid to add weight. 6 oz. is not a big deal. Mine has a OS40FP and i had to add 2.5 oz to the nose to balance. Superfli

RE: Pheonix Sonic 25 Low Wing
Be sure when you balance the plane the fuel tank is empty and you are balancing upside down. If at 70mm the plane is nose heavy. Try to balance by moving the battery. I not able to add some weight to the tail. Hope this helps. By the way nose heavy is not that bad. You never want to try to fly a plane that is tail heavy. Superfli

RE: twin elevator servo question
One other option is to use a Futaba servo on one side and a HiTec servo on the other. You can then use a regular Y-harness. Superfli

My problem is that I am so disorganized when I save all this stuff I can never find it when I need it. I end up going out and buying it.

Ripped Off
Alert: I purchased a G23 from this guy. Paid him promptly and he never shipped the engine. His user name is mramericap51 and he is from BIRDSBORO, PA It really sucks when you have to buy the motor twice. It puts a sour taste in your mouth from wanting to buy anything from RCU. Just wanted to warn everyone. Superfli

Thank You. That is very helpful. I can see now I will need a gear puller to pull part 16 forward off the crankshft. It must be pressed on from the factory. Thanks Again, Tom

I have removed that piece. I can now see the woodruff key. I have tried to tap forward on the hub but it just doesn't budge.

Hub on DLE30
Has anyone had to pull off the Prop hub on a DLE30. (aluminum part with the magnet in it) Is a small gear puller the only way to remove it? Thanks,

RE: giant scale trainer
I see Maxford has made some modifications to the landing gear to strenghthen it. I am not sure if thats enough. You can purchase the L.G. from the Great Planes Giant Stick as a suitable replacement. One other thing. I suggested a 26cc engine. That is a little overkill for this plane. A 20cc would fly this thing real well. G.L. superfli
