Yah I have that same plane I got it off of EB@Y. It LOOKS awsome, but.... it absoutly SUCKS!!! Very tippy coupling on all surfaces and the profile is not reenforced anough for the landing gear and most of the hardware is garbage, but it was 68 dollars to my door. ciciflyers is the eb@y name of the guy that sells them, it's something like acro 3d plane or something. And one last word of warning if you should decide to get one be aware on mine the wing tube did not fit, I had to sand down the tube and the pocket cover it with powered graphite just to get it to go together and I dought it would come apart now. If you want a plane that hovers easy and tumbles like it's having a sezure then go for it when he list some more.

RE: ziroli spitfire retracts
p-40 driver you were right on the money, that ESM spitfire is exactly what I was wanting. The only thing that would make it better would be fiberglassed wings, but as long as I'm careful fabric should hold up just fine. Thanks for bringing this brand up to me, had herd of them but did not know they had a larger one. And yes those retracts are MUCH less painful but still look like they should be good.

RE: ziroli spitfire retracts
I would consider myself an excellent kit builder although, I have never done a short kit. The build is not a problem or concern to me nore is the price, I have 3 50cc birds 2 3D and an Aeromaster which I yank on a lot more than I should, (top speed was 112 and radar out of a 45 dive). My best friend has a p47 and f4u both top flight glassed robart and g62 so I am aware of the cost I guess I'm just put off by spending more on the gear than on the motor, thats all. Yes I also know you should not cheap out on the gear since that is the number 1 place to have problems on a warbird. I'm not heart set ont the zeroli but it must be a spitfire and it must be over 80 inches. I have even considered getting one of the wing makers GS spits and pealing it to glass it but that would probably head ta 30cc and I would like 50cc or bigger. I may have to check out the ESM bird mentioned.

ziroli spitfire retracts
I would really like to get into warbirds, the spitfire in particular. I would really like to do the ziroli spit but I just cringe at the price of the retracts. I just can't bring myself to spend more on the landing gear than I would on the motor (probably a MT80). I know some of the guys on here will want to say "if it's to much you should do something smaller" or any of those kind of things, I don't care that's the one I want to do. Yes I know I will have 1000.00 plus into it most likely but I just wanted to bring the price of the retracts down from the 500.00 range that the robarts are. I don't intend to compeat or weather the spit just want it to look right and a warbird with fixed gear is not "right". Any help finding cheaper gear or some other soultion would be helpful.

craftsman 55
I have a crafsman 55cc and (I got used) at some point in its life some one welded the nut to the crank. When I ground down the weld and tried to crank the nut off it snaped at the base of the threads. If I were to take the jug and spin it 180 to drive the prop off the clutch side of the motor but still get the proper rotation will it run right. It's going to be EI so no mag needed and a friend ownes a machine shop so drive hub is no problem just need to know if spinning it 180 will work. Thanks all in advance.

RE: How bout reactor 160/50cc bipe?
Yes I know bipes tend to be "smaller" I have a giant aeromaster 2 lanier ultimate pitts (one with moki 1.8 one with gas) and I did have a GP skybolt about 6-7 years ago. I know bipes, I love bipes. I however did not know that it had that much sq inch. A friend of mine did get one of the GP pitts python so at least I will be able to fly that.

How bout reactor 160/50cc bipe?
I don't know if I am the only one but I would love to see great planes release a 50cc version of the reactor bipe. I would love to have a chip hyde double vision but they are not avabial any more. I think next spring I will get the 160 reactor unless they come out with a 50cc bipe [8|]. What do you all think? Any one else like the idea of a 50cc Reactor bipe?

I'm putting toghether an 80 inch span katana with a dle 55 and I want to know servo slection. What kind of torque should I be looking at for alrns. elev. halves and rudder. More importantly I have read not to use plastic gear servos, (I read up on this when the output shaft on the elevator servo broke on my giant aeromaster while I was running the motor in on the ground). Does this include the karbonite gear servos?

RE: What is a good battery charger to get on the cheap?
Back to the topic at hand. http://www.hobbypartz.com/thac6smbachw.html ac 6 charger $55.00 I got this charger this past spring liked it so much I bought 3 more of them black friday (on sale 40.00 each) plus no matter how much you buy 4.95 shipping. http://www.hobbypartz.com/skychb6chdup.html b6ac charger This one might be better if you do a lot of lipos as it has the balance port built in insted of pig tails. Both of these have plugs for 110 and 12v as well as a nice assortment of the bulk of the plugs you will need to charge diffrent things. Weather $55 dollers is cheap of not depends on your buget but it's about the lowest priced 110/12v mulit use charger i've come along, oh and it is a GOOD CHARGER, same programing menu as all the rest of the 4 butten china made chargers. Good luck with whatever you decide.
