RE: roto start for picco
The s-25/f4.1 roto plate fits perfectly. The 12mm wheel hex used as a spacer will keep that shaft from walking, killing the one way. The spring will fit perfectly in the center. I used a tc3 hex, but any plastic 12mm will work.

Wow, havent been here in a long time. I see the same thing going on since the last time I was here. Neil, I dont think anyone has ever bashed your work. They just dont like you personally. Weve talked many times about keeping a professional tone esp. when promoting your business on forums. Robin is much better at keeping things on that pro level and more willing to help anybody regardless of what engine or who worked on it. Thats why people will push his mods over yours. A little respect/kindness goes a long way when it comes to business. I just got the same radar gun you have and have some parts on order. My daughter has learned how to edit video so one will be comming soon. 1st attempt at a speed run, I hit her with the truck.[X(] 4 stitches in her foot and the savage busted up as well. Talk about feel like total crap.[:(] Now I have to convince the wife to radar the truck.[:)]

RE: Extended LCG chassis options?
I have FLM and IRC tvps. I think the IRCs are better designed for strength, but when using IRCs, you have to go with IRC everything. FLM stays with stock mounting position hole so mixing parts is not a problem. Also IRC's cust service isnt too hot. 2 weeks with no word or reply until I recieved them. They really need a US distributor.

RE: Plastic Vs. Metal Spur
Wow, looks like some people are overthinking this issue. I have always run plastic spurs and have stripped 3 or 4 in 6 years with two Savages. All were from broken engine plates, loose engine mount or some other cause. None due to the design of the spur. My thinking is that these type of things are going to happen from time to time and when they do, I would rather change a plastic spur than internal tranny gears. with a plastic spur, chances are that the spur will die first. With a steel spur, chances are much greater for internal tranny damage.

RE: Single Speed Savage Gearbox ?????
I'm in the process of putting my tranny together with the flux 44th (part#100905) in place of the 2or3spd gears. Problem is its low geared. Same as 1st on the 2spd so I will compensate by using the 43th spur and 20th bell. This ratio is the same as 17/52 with the hs3spd. still a bit low, but I'll try it.

Get the backplate for a xtm 24.7 part# TS1C and roto plate for the s25. Besides being rotstart, it will give you more room for gearing options.

RE: Crank Shafts PS vs Non PS???
You need to look for a "pin" on the end of the crank shaft. There will be another round protrusion sticking out of the area where the rod rides on the crank. Some engine companies use the same crank for pull and non pull and some will have a crank without that pin. I think the mach will have the pin, but pull the back plate and make sure. If you have the pin and want to go rotostart, you just need teh xtm247 backplate and s25 rotoplate.

The turnbuckles are the same. all X parts can be used on the s25/21. The XL has different cups for the bigger SHD bones so careful when ordering diff parts or dogbones. I'm not as up to date on the Flux as I should be.
ORIGINAL: supertib Dude that is a very respectable run ! your engine is revving nicely and pulling great MPH for lower gearing like that.......... I seriously need to get me one of those GPS units, using a radar gun properly can be risky with the way my buddies drive........ I am off to bed tho....... And I definitely do time my speed runs from a standing start... When I test my engines that data is very important to me.....
Change in attitude? Are you going to race him? You wanted to see it so bad, theres your golden opportunity.

RE: thread jacked to drag racing sory earl
Well, thunder bird, if we went to the same r/c events, I would race you. My savage can get wet and or dirty though. I'm also not scared to go outside in the cold whatever the temp, to shut up a loud mouth who has been asking for a race for years. Only when it comes down to it, hes scared. Tib wanted a race, Robin and Piped were and still are willing. Bankrupter was also willing, but didnt want to make that the reason for meeting with Earl. I find it hard to belive that of all the budies taht you claim to have, none of them will let you use their Savage. Maybe you should actually get one. You do seem to spend most of your time on the Savage forums. Either you really like the product or your just here to start crap. Which is it? Another thing, you mentioned racing an LST last year at the nats. Why was it warm enough to run the LST and not a Savage? Tell you what, if you want to bring an LST to the nats this year, I will mail mine to Robin just so you get your race. Thunderbird, where approx. in Ohio are you? I think a HPISF member running an ERCM picco live in Ohio also. Not sure what city, but I'll ask when the site comes back up if your interested in a race.

Well Tib, if your "local buddies" have Savages and Pipedup has offered to meet you and race, whats the problem??? Why keep asking other people to do it for you? You guys meet in Canada and run. No need for all the lip service. As for not running because its wet or dirty LMAO! I thought your r/c fleet was indestructable. The best of everything, but they cant handle a little water. YOU want a race. YOU made the challange. It has been answered. SHOW UP AND RACE. No excuses. No blameing other people.
