RE: East Coast Pattern Championships
Thank you Larry K. and the Fredericksburg Area RC CLub for having this contest. Also thank to Chris from F3A Unlimited along with NVRC for their surport with contest. We had a good turn out in all classes. Sportman with 4 that was great to them flying it was a close race to the finish in this class, first place was settle early on. The other places were close with a couple of changes, it took the 6th round to set it up. Three in Imt. and 4 in advance which also was a close going in to the 6th round . Master (5)was another one that took all 6 round before it was finish.FAI with 4. Saturday started out windy with three round flown on the west runway then we move over to the east runway for the 4th round. The club arranged some good food for Saturday evenning dinner. Most of the pilot stay for it and some good time get together. Sunday morning was a complete diffence in weather. NO WIND thats a first . I had taken out the Griffin of Chris to fly it Sunday morning but a few mintues be me flight I had a change of mind. It was so nice that I had to run and put the Prolog together and fly it , haven't had a chance to fly in contest without wind with it. Had to see how I could do with it. On the 6 th round I flew the Griffin did good with also but didn't notice til later on after contest I flew it on wrong setting. This contest is in a good field and area hopefully we can do again next year. See all you D2 pilots in a couple of weeks at Wilson Salem contest. Jr D2[:)]

Hope to see most of D2 pilot out there and maybe some new pilot from other district. Jr[:)]

RE: Prolog
from the rear lower corner of the canpony forward, 260 like they call for should put you aft of wing tube. At 270 you will be right at back side of tube , I started out at 280 and believe ended up around between 270-275mm, not quite center of tube. Which motor are you using. Like you said at center you'll be safe. Jr

RE: New Griffin by Xtreme Composite
The plane we had at the Nat's was epuip. with the following. Motor Himaxx 210 ESC Castle HV80 servo rudder 8411 aile. 9411 evl. 3421 battery Power unlimited 4500 35c spinner Drubro rx Battery 800ma arming plug prop Rasa 21.5x14 Reday to fly wieght 4970 grams per the scale on site 4 at Nat's If one wanted to save some wieght it wouldn't be hard to do with. I took the plane up for Chris from F3A Unlimited as a back up and I had to end up using due to ESC fire in my Prolog. Had a couple of FAI pilot test fly it and they were happy with it, they said it flew like the Junpiter. This plane is nicely built and finish. I only had one flight on the plane before I had to fly it at Nat's. I was happy with the plane only wish we had more time on it . For the price this is a great product. Hope to contiune setting up the plane and flying it in the furture. Thank you Crhis Moon for your support and letting me to fly your plane. Jr Varela D2 P.S. THANK YOU F3A UNLIMITED FOR THE ICE CREAM SUNDAY EVENING AT PILOT MEETING.

RE: New Griffin by Xtreme Composite
Chris at F3A Unlimited has done it again. Went over to FARM field yesterday to get a few flight in with the Northern Va. and first off Chris offer me the Griffin for a test flight. Now I had seen it back a couple off week ago when it came to his house. The finish and workmarkship on this plane is great. The plane is set up with a Himax motor which is plenty of power for it. After checking out the radio setting it was time to FLY. Take off was a breeze piont it and power up alway we went. A trim pass and right into Imteridate sequences I went. Plane tracks great up line down line , rolls good. Plane flew great I ended up asking Chris if I could take to Munice as my back to the Prolog. Well we can guess what the answer was a ____. He did say Yes.We'll see if I have room for it. Anthony I flew JP Pegasus a cople of week ago, and I believe it does. Thanks Chris Moon for the flights. Jr Varela d2

RE: 22nd Annual Pocono Pattern Contest - June 23-24 2012
Thank's Joe for haveing this contest. It's the first time I have gone up that area, and I have to say that everyone was friendly and helpful to each other. I hope to be able to make back again to this contest next year. I will say that is was starnge to fly with three level of tree top. the lower one, then a secound at a lower ridge line and the top at the higher ridge. At time it seems as some of the master pilot were trying to land at the higher ridge line when in fact they were just flying ( ofcrouse way inside of it.) Jr Varela D2

RE: Gaudius Firewall Template?
Tom has a point. I have flown the plane with both set of wing the oringal and Ola Fremming wing that Mr. Tom Miller cut for me. What I found that with Tom's wing the speed ranrge is a lot better. Plane is very stable at slower speed and at high end also. Before if you got past a certain point it seem to hunt for heading. Jerry what class will you be flying at Nat's , I'll be at site four if you would like to see the other wings. Jr
