RE: C-17 lands at small GA airport in Tampa by mistake
actually, if the pilot can do what he did, then the $$ was worth it. my 2 cents
ORIGINAL: eddieC For all the training it costs us taxpayers, it was a real bonehead move. Pretty much a career-ender, I'll bet.
RE: JCP commercial should be pulled
ORIGINAL: STUKA BARRY
ORIGINAL: acdii I just saw a JCP commercial where two kids are chasing a guy with an RC helicopter. I dont know about you guys, but I find it detrimental to our hobby, and dangerous. Not sure where to find the right contact to have this ad pulled as it is innapropriate.
Your right, they should be chasing the cat.....
why waste time on a cat with a a helicopter? God invented the .22 mag for a reason! to the op, get real

RE: RPM's in OS .40
i have a new in box 40la that after break in was running right at 10k with a 11-5 prop. it sounds like you are in that range. i have been flying the plane quite a bit lately, and it seems to need a little tuning each time, but gets better each time.

futaba charger question
do the led lights on your futaba charger turn off when charging is complete? mine never do. just wondering if that is a sign that the batteries are getting old.

RE: Sheeting the Leading Edge of a Wing
if you wet the wood, let it soak a while and then apply heat, it will curl more. the heat expands the water forcing the wood to curl. i usually lay the balsa on my wood stove, but i bet a covering iron on high would work.

my advice would be to first spend the $100 and go through this http://www.daveramsey.com/fpu/home/ you will find that even a little financial security will make a big difference in a marriage.

i would rough up both surfaces to give the epoxy something to "bite" to, and then clean with some xylene.

after watching the video a couple more times, i will stand by what i posted. other than "this is a rolling hobby shop" the only other words were, to me, bragging. it made the video sound like a bragging thing. i will check out the magazine, though.

engine question
bought this engine in a grab bag full of goodies. on the sides it says "arden" and on the back either 099 or 660. it has a clear fuel bowl on the bottom and a moveable lever behind the prop and another just above the fuel bowl. it also has what looks like a tiny spark plug. i would like to see if this thing runs. any ideas? thanks all

RE: Why Beginners Do Not Want To Join Clubs
ORIGINAL: beemerscoot00 Clubs and rules. Aren't we faced with enough rules from all directions without having them burden our hobby? There are around a dozen pilots in my area that get together at a local airport to fly. Most of us are AMA members but it isn't REQUIRED. The AMA insurance is a myth anyway. We fly and enjoy our hobby without meetings or having to vote on ANTHING! That's the way we like it. Terry Houser AMA Member Cliffside NC
that is exactly what im hoping to find in my area.

RX cooling
i picked up a "goody bag" full of stuff and one of the things is a "strongbox". the paperwork shows it being used to hold the RX and battery sandwiched between layers of foam. seems like a good idea. will a lack of airflow around the RX harm it? thanx all
