RE: BME 37% Ultimate
This plane is a blast to fly.......Plus its not expensive for the 100cc class. You have to do a tad more work to get it ready to fly but its worth it for the money saved.

Those passes where sweet. When the plane comes across the runway it sounds almost full scale.

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet
So much love from everyone........let me answer some questions For now the Rabbit will power mine. That could change later but right now I don't have the funds for a 2nd turbine. I'll of course take a donation[:D] I currently don't own any West Epoxy (though I know I should). I used the Poly glue on the inside of the wing. I used the thin nozzle and then went back with the finger to squeege it. Trying to put the least amount in there as the glue expands as it dries. I'll be weighing the wing before and after I prepare it for glass. then again after I glass it to see how much actual weight I add. The leading Edge shouldn't peel back as its going to be fiberglassed but I'll check it to be sure. IF you have a picture of exactly your concerned area that would help make sure I look at the right place. No Derrick I have not bought a tank from you yet.....debating on the money for it vs just using a juice bottle instead. Noray can you send me a pic/cost of the centerline tank. I'd be interested in that for smoke! I bought a canopy from Noray and I have a Fly Eagle F-16 cockpit (its heavy and cheesy, not real scale) that I plan to install in the plane if I can make it work.

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet
Very nice. I took one wing last night and applied some poly glue to the ribs and joints. I also noted that 2 ribs were cracked. This could have been done by my poor handling of the wing over the last year or from shipping. Regardless they are fixed.

RE: New Drop Tanks, Bombs, etc.
The jet guys are doing it, but they are quite expensive (as is everything with Jets). But I have hardly seen the option for Warbirds on the centerline tank. Smoke would be perfect there.

RE: Complex warbird radio question.
No matter what system you choose do some good ground checks. Have the engine running and do your normal range check. Then have your helpers rotate the plane 25 degrees or so and repeat....keep repeating until you have done a complete 360. Then you can shut the engine off but leave the radio and plane on. Use the data logger and check your numbers. If they are good.......under 50 for all antennas and under 50 on the Frame loss (F on the screen) and no holds then you are cleared to fly a short flight. Say about 5-8mins. Then bring her in and recheck the numbers again. I've done this on all my planes from the simple 7ch to the Warbird to the 42% aerobat. Also I wouldn't say Warbirds have the most experience with 2.4 I would beg to differ that GS aerobats have the most experience. Warbirds have the most experience with tight fitting areas though.

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet
I have been going through the thread. I just figured someone who already built one and is flying it could post in one spot the 6 most important parts of building this plane for a turbine. No big deal. I'll do it when I have mine done. It only helps those who will be building it in the future. Kinda like a mini instruction manual.

RE: New Drop Tanks, Bombs, etc.
I edited my request. I did not mean to infer that it be used as that type of device. Figured he is making hollow devices that can be taken apart so it shouldn't be to hard to make one that could hold a fuel container for smoke.

RE: New Drop Tanks, Bombs, etc.
I'd be interested to know if you can make a centerline/wing tank fuel/smoke ready (Undroppable of course). Or aleast so you could fit a large water bottle in it. Would be perfect for my Falcon 120 jet.

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet
Ok......I seriously going to start the build on this plane. Actually last night I tore the covering off the wings and I have the nose gear installed but not the steering, so I'm at least started. Here is what I'd like all you Falcon 120 flyers to post so its all together. I'd like to see a condensed section so its all right there for me to find. If I have specific questions I'll PM (if you are willing to answer). 1. Former mods to fit fuel tanks 2. Canopy attachment methods, both stock canopy or the stronger aftermarket one 3. If you did a cockpit, show that 4. Mods to the fiberglass section that holds the turbine 5. Bracket system to hold the turbine (if anyone sells one I'd be willing to discuss) and how the degree of downthrust 6. If you made mods to the wings (for me I plan to reglue formers and install CF tubes, then cover the holes and fiberglass the wings) I think having a few posts of these 6 things will help me (and others) have all that info at a quick glance. I plan to do the same with mine as well as I build it over the next few weeks.

RE: Complex warbird radio question.
I don't know anyone using one yet. I use the AR9000 in my TF GS P-47 with 2 satellites. I would think that this version would be suited well for the Aerotech P-47 since its got alot of CF in the fuse.

I bought more formost connections. I believe the way I'm going to do it will work. The magnets I'm using now are tad too weak. They are same ones on the hatch doors and I was going to upgrade those also so we shall see......... I'll need help from you on the FW190 build. I've never jigged a wing before.

RE: TF GS P47 Build - yeah another bloody one!!
I'll be doing some testing in the shop here over the next few weeks. I'll put my results up on YT. I'm using the H9 bombs to the 1.50 P-47 mainly becuase they were only $15 a pair and figured I could break them without cryin about it.

RE: TF GS P47 Build - yeah another bloody one!!
I've got those on the pylons already as well. my intial plan is to put magnets on the bomb and the rests. That way it would be secured inflight but when the front of the bomb is released the full weight of the bomb and the wind would rip the 2 magnets apart.

RE: sullivan smoke systems
5 things 2 think about with the sullivan. (I own 4 of them) For example if you put it on the gear switch: 1. Set your off value to -100. This way when you flip the switch and its at 0 or higher the ESC intializes and will start the pump. If you do not then the ESC won't always work correctly. 2. Assume you have a computer radio.....use the curve feature on your mix and mix the channel to throttle. Realize that the pump won't have to run more than half its full speed even when your throttle is max. Good thick smoke is more a feature of all the oil being burned than the quantity you put in (though quantity plays a little role). If you run the pump full speed you are just going to spit unburnt oil out of the muffler and all over your plane. I use really low values to start with and ground run the motor to make sure smoke is coming out. Fine tune it during about 3 flights so that you get nice white smoke and only smoke residue on the plane, not gobs of oil. 3. Oil went up in price back when the price of gasoline went to $4. It never came back down. I use Super-Dri. Work with the LHS and order 4 gallons at a time(that's how they are shipped in a box) or the 5 gal bucket. You shouldn't have to pay shipping if you do your order with their normal fuel order shipment. When ordering fuel they pay a rate for hazmat and this could be included on it. Also have them match Tower's price. 4. Size of the tank should be equal or 1 size larger than your fuel tank and on the CG(if you have the room, but most of the time I know we can't fit those reqs). Smoke is better when its not run 100% of the time. Learn to use it on certain portions of your flight and you will enjoy it more as will the spectators. 5. the line from the pump to the muffler(s) should be as short as possible. Also if you have 2 mufflers the lines need to be equal length to each muffler. The short lines help ensure that when you flip the switch off that the smoke stops. The pressure from the muffler will continue to siphon the oil out of the lines until they are empty. Learning how long it takes for smoke to stop will make your flights look better also as you can flip the switch earlier or later depending to get the right effect.

RE: Robart hinge point question
No need to remove the hinges. Use Poly glue (Elmers or gorilla). Use a syringe and inject some around the hinge. Spray with some water and check it very few minutes for the first 30-45mins to clean up the expanding glue. When it is totally dry that glue will expand and fill up the area making the hinge tighter than when it was new.

I'll be headed back to work on my bomb system for the P-47 here soon. I'll probably scratch some of your guys thoughts on how to make it work better. For now it uses a formost release but the bomb tail hangs low.......trying to fix that portion

Just picked up a TF P-51 RTC. Got a really good deal on it. Alas, I'm going to sell it to a bud so he can have his first warbird. I'm going to teach him my limited knowledge on scaling it out. He hopes to have it done in time for WOTR.

No stranger to large airplanes. Been flying 42% aerobats in the 122 inch span. It really comes down to $$ more than anything. I don't think I can afford a Moki for it, so I'd have to find something else for it.

On the ARF or the Kit. Fiberglassed or not? I can tell you that on the Fiberglassed version of the Kit 2lbs+ was needed in the nose with the kit basically built stock.
