RE: First time build - tricopter camera platform - HELP!
what you need to do is put in a switch or a plug to arm the gyros first and then once they have armed you can then arm the ESC and motors. you cant do it all at once. For my tricopter i ran a bec from the battery to the receiver and spliced a deans plug in the positive wire that goes to the ESC. i then had to cut the positive wire that goes from the receiver to the esc. so to arm it i pull out the deans plug to the esc and plug in the BEC once the receiver and gyros arm then the esc and motors get plugged in and it all fires up fine.....hope that helps, if not i will take pictures of mine and post........

RE: offical rc10 Aluminum tub chassis thread
i have done a bit of research and i think it can handle it. there is a bunch of guys running the same transmission with bigger motors than what i am getting. they say the thing that usually gives out is the dog bone or the axles. i already put in upgraded axles so i think i will be ok.............

RE: offical rc10 Aluminum tub chassis thread
checked out the gear box everything looks great in there it has bearings and everything moves very well...........put new axles on and put new bearings and tires on it and it is doing even better...........cant wait for the brushless, still saving for it.

RE: offical rc10 Aluminum tub chassis thread
just picked up a 1992 Rc10 truck last weeks for $100 with radio, 10 tires, 8 rims, charger, 6 batteries and big bag of gears and spare parts. This is my first Rc truck and so far it is awesome..........the guy that had it before me didnt know how to solider to save his life so everything had wire nuts on it, so i went through and re-wired everything, cleaned the motor and slapped some new gears on it. It runs amazing, i love this truck. Im going to get some new tires and a couple of small upgrades next week i will post some pics soon. I plan to make it brushless after i get some experience and save up the cash. they really knew what they were doing back then this thing is sweet. i was going to get a traxxas and i am so glad i got the RC10.

why you shouldnt drink and drive
so i was at a family gathering where me and my girlfriends brother were having a few beers. After a few i decieded it would be a good idea to run my boat............went well for 5 min until i hit a rock............moral of the story dont drink and drive, even a rc boat.........

RE: CLD Mini R/C Anarchy Airboat
Wow i really like the mini...........i have a 1900kv motor laying around do you think that would be enough to move that around? it seems like the 4300 or whatever you had on there is almost too much. ether way i think i might have to order one of those bad boys from you.

RE: first airboat w/questions
here are some pictures..............i need to sand down some spots and paint and then i think she will be done. i am also thinking about making a splash gaurd on the bow to keep the water from flowing right into the battary compartment. i will put more pictures up after i finish. maybe a video if i can convince the girlfriend to go with me to the pond.

RE: first airboat w/questions
i see what your saying about the battariesi think that is my issue i think i might also need a bigger motor it is not as fast as i hoped it would be. so i guess im going to go to the hobby shop and order some goodies.............

first airboat w/questions
I just finished my first airboat (well still needs some cosmetic work) and test ran it a few times. i know most of you on here are gassers and nitro, but i am running a 1900 kv brush less motor with a 7.2V 3000mah battary. Im not getting a very long run time. im can only run for 5 minutes at the most. when i put these batteries in my rc sub they run for 20 min or more. what would be the reason for the fast draining? im new to brushless motors is that just how fast they eat up juice? i wil post some pictures up here in the next day or so..........got to show it off alittle bit.

RE: First Sub scratch built
a little bit of foam in the top and weight in the bottom to keep her sitting upright and make it easier to adjust the trim level. i got a really good idea for a ballast system using a rc plane pneumatic landing gear system. thats the next thing on my list to do to my sub.

RE: First Sub scratch built
the screw in the front is to hold in foam in place. the screw goes through a piece of starboard which is glued to the hull and then the toggle switch holds the foam. it worked pretty good until it broke, i need to epoxy it in better as a temporary fix i just zip tied the foam to the weights............

thank you............................if you have any questions about the fiberglassing of your sub project let me know i learned a few little tricks that are really helpful, right after i made my sub i helped my brother make a boat and the fiberglass went a heck of alot better.

THe SUB ES2 from Caswell Inc.
i seen that Caswell has this electronic switch for running what ever you want. i was thinking about using it to run a small air pump and a solenoid valve. i was wondering if any of you guys out there have seen this or used it? i was also wondering and alittle confused about will it run two things on the same channel but not at the same time or is it going to open the solenoid when i turn on the pump, defeating the process of filling a air bladder. this is hard to explain when you dont know that much technical jargen. so im going to stab twice so hopefully somebody know what im talking about. i want to move the transmitter stick to the right and have the pump turn on and then move it to the left and the solenoid valve opens, and neither operate with the stick is neutral. this is the only diagram or pictures that caswell has of it.

RE: First Sub scratch built
yeah it is really easy to transport fits right in the back seat............for my next sub i want to go bigger. i dont have any sort of ballast in it yet so its always sits at decks awash but i would like to put a small snort type system in it. i think i have room for a small air pump under my servo tray and tons of room in the body for the air bag.

The body is all fiber glass with a lexan WTC i made the WTC into a box because i couldnt find lexan tubes anywhere and it just seemed alot easier. i kind of followed this web site on my build. http://www.rvjunkie.com/sub/index.html what do you mean by water clarity is it how far can i see down or how far does the radio go? here are some build pictures. RE: Springer Tug Build!!!
i am planning on building a springer tug for a rescue boat for my sub (and just because they look like fun), but i see everybody is using wood. can fiberglass be used or is that a tug no no? it turns out im better with fiberglass than with wood plus i feel it will be stronger in the long run.
