RE: Baja 1000
I used brake tubing! I will take pictures of it tomorrow for you really turning out great, I got some more work done this weekend. Fan mounts and all, I need to find a sponsor decal sheet or something similar though.

RE: Baja 1000
Sorry for the bump but I have a HUGE update, I ended up building my own roll cage. Turned out alright, not as long as I wanted it to be. I am very near completion and I hope it is within the next two weeks. Anyway off to the pictures! Sorry for the double post, I have a few pictures. I ordered a VG roll cage I may have to add to to give it the scale effects I wanted. Tons of lights on order along with a few other things, going to mess with lowering the suspension here soon too. Coming along slowly but surely! HBZ roll cage
I really want to know where I can find one! HBZ dosen't have them in stock and it would make my scale build go by sooo much easier. If anyone has one they wouldn't mind parting with I'd love to work something out also. Any help is appreciated!

Baja 1000
Lately I have fallen in love with the look and anything to do with the baja 1000, so I have decided I want to do as scale looking slash 4x4. Right now I started with the ford f-250 ranger body, light bar by RPM, Trenchers on Renegades, RPM bumpers all around. I want to find a roll cage, Leds will be done here soon, Some sort of Drivers, a way to mount two spare tires, and anything else that will add to the realism! Any help will be appreciated!

Need a brushed esc!
So there is ever hardly anyone on the drift forums so I brought it here, I put a 9t brushed motor in my tt01 and I need a new esc to support it. I am currently running an old V4 esc, a buddy said it can run any brushed motor (really don't think that is true). I would like to find an esc that has a lipo cut off and can run this 9t, any help is appreciated!

I'm sure it is! Racing just was never my thing, we bash the living heck out of these vehicles, if it can survive at-least a week without breaking a part it's a great basher.

RE: Review of the Traxxas Slash 4x4
ORIGINAL: FahrtAutoRC In all honesty, for what I got my Slash for, and put into it, if I'd known I would have gone straight to 1/8 buggy or truggy, and waited for the AE SC10 4X4 to come out, but, of course, I couldn't predict the market or see today from back then. My advice, unless you want a decent do-everything-only-ok basher, I would avoid the truck.
Honestly, bashing is it's specialty. If you want it for racing don't buy it, but bashing thats another story! This and my two wheel drives are the only cars that can hold up to my bashing, I tried most of the top name short course trucks, They were great for racing on my buddies backyard track! They could never handle a bashing like the slash 4x4 and the 2wds.

RE: Review of the Traxxas Slash 4x4
I own one that I have setup purely for bashing, I have only raced once and I ended up hating the experience due to the fact that a majority got into an argument over this guy pit maneuvering them. So I jacked the suspension up and am trying to turn it into more of a baja 500 looking deal. I have put mine through all holy heck and I will say this, my velinion system crapped out TWICE. First time apparently debris got stuck in the switch and broke the waterproof seal, so when I ran it in the mud it short out and it wouldn't turn off and always went into programming. Same EXACT thing happened the second time but I had never gotten that one wet. I ended up getting the Venom ESC and motor combo that is supposedly "waterproof". I haven't gotten it wet yet but we will find out, so far I like it

I may have to upgrade to bearings though, I just wish they made RPM for those! Ever since I got into R/c I have been buying RPM, Broke my first RPM part (slash 2wd front A-arm) recently. RE: What's Your R/C Story
Alright, here we go! So back my freshmen year of highschool I had a health class, we had to do a project with partners, I was paired up with someone I had never met before! When I got there we worked on the project and started talking about how when we were younger we always wanted to get into hobby grade R/C. Well we started looking at websites and random R/C videos on youtube, before you could blink we wanted to get into the hobby. Around then that was when the slash was becoming big and still new, Short course was a huge up and coming thing! So we watched this video on these guys bashing the crap out of the slash! I went to school the next day and one of the guys that sat at the soccer table at lunch (all seniors) I started talking to one of them and another guy spoke up! We started talking a few days later I got the slash, it turns out his uncle worked at horizon hobby (about 15min from my home town). Him and his boys ran every weekend along with his nephew (my buddy), so it turned to my buddy from health, the buddy from lunch, his uncle and his boys all running on the main street in town late at night and such! Eventually over time we managed to put a 9t on the stock xl-5 without blowing it up, now starting my senior year I own two 2wd slashes (one stock then my first one), the slash 4x4, a stampede, a rustler, a desert truck, a freshely restored kyosho outrage, a losi desert truck, mini lst, an a tt01. I have grown to love the hobby, it kept me out of drugs and trouble. I had something to look forward to when I got home, Just tearing down that slash at 5 pm after dinner and not finishing until 6 am! Now I can do it under a few hours! Time sure does fly!
