RE: My home brew Retreival Boat
THink it looks good, but looking at the video, it seems the motors are a bit underpowered, timing is critical if a boat is going down or taking on water. Something bigger would be needed for the bigger ships. My biggest so far is a 8.5 foot WWII aircraft carrier made out of wood. [:D]

RE: USS Missouri Build
I built the sterling Missouri years ago, see where the pics are and post. I did go with the fiberglass hull though, the kit by itself was a pain in the ass lol. Did some upgrades, painted a bunch of n scale train guys as sailers and some other items, also added a sound module too.

RE: Why not to swim after your boat
ORIGINAL: Hydro Junkie It's really sad that these kind of things keep happening. Sooner or later, the manufacturers might realize that if they put an instruction sheet on operating the boats, INCLUDING SAFE WAYS TO RECOVER IT WHEN IT STALLS
Should manufacturers hold your hand too, it just goes with some common sense which seems to be lacking in today's age like anything else. I always have a recovery boat on hand, although in the beginning I didn't. I've only lost one boat, a dynamic diving wwII german sub, it was about 40 or so feet out this was during summer, Being a long time swimmer I debated going after it and decided it just wasnt worth it. While it was a good size pond/lake and heard there were undercurrents. It actually looked where the sub was going down that it was being twirled in a circle of sort lol. The seal im guessing for the wtc must have got water in it or the wake of the water sucked it in. It's not worth the risk. Now when I do run my boats, i have a rescue tug ready to go, I like the idea of the magnet someone here mentioned. Years later I acquired the same sub that i lost to make it up for the lost one lol.

So I was just thinking about this, is ok to store them just on a hard surface or should the tank threads be off the ground to keep the pressure off the suspension etc?

King Tiger build nearly done with lots of pics
So this is a Heng Long tank been working on it off/on for a couple of months. Got it from Phil and had updated t0 480 motors and 3n1 drive unit. Also will have the Elmod Pro and Soundblaster 4 Pro as soon as they come in. I wanted to do a heavy weathered thats been in service for several years feel to it. I applied the zimmerit to it, first time, its a learning curve for sure. The tank 3 color camo is something I did after pouring through pictures and then just went at it with the airbrush. I added brass engine detail, cut off what goes for plastic nuts and replaced with brass screws. Added on some detail stuff like the helmets, rolls, gas cannisters and water cannister, still have some scale german rifles coming in the mail. I did a variety of weathering including wet wash, dry wash, chalk and the salt technique and spray paint textures. I still have some finer detail weathering yet to go. I'll be using the airtronics rock crawler edition radio to control it. I hope to be at Danville in April with it depending on some factors. More pics on the photobucket link below. Started taking pics inside, but the lighting was kinda blah and then went outside for some detail shots. http://s254.photobucket.com/albums/hh94/takevin1/King%20Tiger/?start=all
