Hi all have just got a Rtf f6f hellcat. I have noticed that there are 4 wires inside the cab. Obviously two are for ailerons, 2 for elevator. Yet my receicer only has one allocated spot each for these. Do i need to get Connectors/joiners??Also, since the plane was basically made up, the elevators seem to control the rudders. There is no wire that i can see to independanly control this. \ using a FMS 4 channel 2.4ghz trans, with a fhss 2.4 receiver(xy-5) . Any help, suggestions would be Great. Thankjs Jake.

RE: Comp ARF Valiant
Hello, Yes I was looking at the weights some of you guys posted and it does seem heavy. I am going to order a 30mm PBG tube which should save me around 50g. Does anyone else know the diameter of the tail tube as I am going to purchase a PBG tail tube as well. Thanks

RE: European Championship In AUSTRIA
I think it is high time the pilot was out of view of the judges when flying at large comps and all national identity marking removed from the aircraft. The judges, as good as they are, are only human and it is inevitable that there will be a degree of "judging who is flying" rather than "what is being flown". Currently the above criteria are judged to varying standards depending on what pilot is flying. i.e. unknown pilot flys close in and tight resulting in slight box infringement - manoeuvre is downgraded. A named pilot does exactly the same and is given the benefit of the doubt. This disparity has happened and will continue to happen as long as the judges are aware of who is flying.

RE: APC 18.1X11W
I contacted APC who informed me that they only do the 18.1x11 and 18x11WPN. Adrian, how did you find the downline with the WPN compared to the 18.1x11? How did they compare load wise? Sounds like the WPN is a lighter load. If the Japs are repitching them closer to a 12 then why not just use the 18.1x12? Its ashame APC don't do an 18.5X11.

APC 18.1X11W
Hello, Does the APC 18.1X11W exist as I'm having trouble finding it? On the Tower Hobbies web site http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&P=WR&I=LXRCJ5 the heading is for 18.1X11W but if you look at the data is clearly states that the prop is 10" pitch. Other web sites also have this apparent contradiction: https://www.toysonics.com/apc-18.1x11w-pattern-propeller-lp18110w.html So what's the deal? Thanks.

How do these two models compare as regards which (if any) is more aimed at all out 3d and which is more freestyle or precision. I have the Sukhoi 30 and whilst it is a great plane for 3d I was a bit dissappointed at how it handled freestyle/precision compared to my AJ. Is the Kat more freestyle/precision than the Suk? Thanks for any info :)

Leaking non return valve - 160DZ
Hi, The non return valve on my 160DZ has started to spit lots of fuel out the little breather hole on the very top. I have unscrewed the NRV assembly to check the diaphragm for any holes and it all looks ok. Any idea why it would be doing this and what can be done to fix it? Thanks.

On the plus side I do think it is a fantastic looking aeroplane. Shame I've sold all my kit that would suit this size of model.

RE: new extreme flight rc 88" yak too heavy??
Shawn, I'm not talking about point scoring or any of that "bigger is better" stuff (don't know how you got that impression anyway as it was never mentioned). Even my old Gran could tell you that bigger will perform better. I was talking TOC performance as in how it pulls out of a hang, how it pulls round a one roll rolling loop starting downwind etc etc. And I'm not whining, having a dig at EF, claiming this new Yak is an over weight sea monster or anything else (you really have got thin skins over the water don't you). All I'm saying is that I personally think it wants more than a 5hp engine.

RE: new extreme flight rc 88" yak too heavy??
Let's see, you saw the video. You thought it had good pullout from a hover, you saw it do a knife edge loop, but yet you wonder if it has the power to do a one roll rolling loop? You can't be serious, can you?
It did the KE loop reasonably well. But judging by the way it performed it I think it would struggle in a wind starting downwind. I have never at any stage said this model was overweight. All I'm saying is that for TOC type performance you will need a bigger engine up front.
Worse, we publically castrate any manufacturer that produces a plane that fails to make a weight that WE think it should be produced at
I assume that comment was aimed at myself. Gimme a break. This is a discussion forum where we discuss things. Public castration, what a joke. In essence all I said was that the model performs well, but for excellent performance in all weather you would need a touch more power. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't there another thread on RCU where someone who you may be familiar with is building one with a 60cc up front? I arrest my case.

RE: new extreme flight rc 88" yak too heavy??
So using your equation a 50cc plane should be at 13.33 lbs? Not hardly
To an extent. The 150cc models I've seen at the ~40lb mark and my own at 37lb have been more potent than your 15-16lb 50cc jobs. I’m certain that a model of this 88" size and weight will struggle in a wind when doing IMAC with a puny 5hp engine up front. Need an extra 1.5 - 2hp. If you always fly in calm wind or all you want to do it pull gently out of a prop hang then a 5hp engine will suffice. But we don’t always fly in calm wind do we.

RE: new extreme flight rc 88" yak too heavy??
Forgive my ignorance but since when has drag been a problem

I assume he is talking about for IMAC where drag, power and weight all play an important part on how the model will perform. To my eyes it looked fine in the pull out. Not amazing by any means but pretty good. Think it would struggle a bit in a one roll rolling loop though. T ps just a thought, this model is for 50cc right, coming in at ~17lbs. 50cc for 17lbs equates to 51lbs for 150cc which I would say is heavy. Most 150cc models are late 30's early 40lb range. Basically I'm saying that, IMO this model is not 50cc size, at least if you're wanting excellent IMAC performance in ALL weather.

RE: CPLR & BPLR OXALYS elevator Servo - What's this?!?!
Chad, They just weren't snaps! You don't need power if you aren't pitching the plane far enough to break. Of course, CPLR had lots of companny in the finals ... like all nine other pilots. When the stuation after lunch looked like third might be up for grabs, some of the pilots proved that they knew they weren't flying snaps, by bringing their real snaps out of retirement. It's obvious that some of these guys do not even practice a real snap, 'cause they were ugly! But, they knew that there might be points to be had, if they did a real one. So, it's not my opinion as to whether the finalists were doing real snaps, or not. We have their own connfessions, with the sticks. Let me sum up, justy so that no one can accuse me of being vague. (vbg) What I saw in the finals this Summer was a travesty. The sad part is that both judges and pilots accepted it. Now Io know how lemmings can march into the sea, en masse. best regards to All, Dean Pappas
What a load of rubbish. You obviously haven't a clue what a snap should look like if you are claiming that all ten finalists were not doing proper snaps. Textbook examples of snaps were demonstrated by Onda and Chip. Granted some of the snaps were borderline/illegal e.g. Benoit's during the prelims (for which I personally would of zeroed and he may well of been, never saw his score sheet), but come the finals I would say his and CPLR's were legal, just. The other 8 finalists snaps were undoubtedly snaps, no doubt about that in the slightest. Can we not just have faith in our judges for a change? Tom

RE: The New Improved Adrenalin!!
Hatori 693 if you can get one or 698. If you want something a bit lighter you could go for the 822 mini pipe. Just as quiet as the bigger pipes but is cheaper and lighter. I would probably stay away from the 821 manifold (meant to be used with the 822 pipe) though as they tend to come loose. You could use an Asano header but at £90 odd they are a bit expensive.

RE: British Freestyle Champ's 2005- RCM&E
I say the Irish and scotts just arent keen enough
No wonder, it's held just outside LONDON!!! You can't expect us to travel all that distance for a one day comp and what, about 12 minutes of flying. Just not going to happen. If you want to attract us then it needs to be situated in the west midlands, not the deep south (and two days of course). Until that happens then your Shane Robinsons and the like will never enter a comp such as this, especially with their F3A team commitments. And it's not that they don't freestyle or have an interest in this kind of comp. I also believe Angus Balfour was trying to organise a Scottish freestyle comp, so it's not that the Scots aren't interested either. Tom

RE: British Freestyle Champ's 2005- RCM&E
Don't forget most of the F3A pilots were either at the Nats or the Worlds the previous weekend. Practising for these and for the Freestyle comp would take a lot of time and effort.
Assuming the organiser wants to get these pilots involved perhaps changing the time of the comp would make it more accessible for them. I think the time is right for Mr Westrop to put a survey in the mag to ask questions such as: Preferred format Preferred location Preferred time etc etc I also think for this comp to flourish is has to be a two day event. It's ok for locals but you will never entice the cream of the Irish or the Scots who have to catch a ferry and/or drive many, many miles unless you make it worth their while. Right now it is really just the English Freestyle Champs. Tom

No need to apologise. This is a forum where views and ideas are shared. Just a monkey with half an eye ball could of told you that CPLR and Onda would of been the first two. There really was that much of a diffrence between them and everyone else. Plus the bottom line is if there was foul play Bob Skinner would of picked up on it. Or if he thought there might of been foul play he would of investigated it. Absolutely no doubt about that.
