Does anyone have a source for the full body 12" WWII fighter pilot figures? I know several toy company have made them but I can't seem to find them anymore.

I have tried calling and left several Voice Mails requesting call back including emails explaining I would like to place an order but no response. Anyone know another reputable Yellow Aircraft rep?

RE: *Official Sportwerks Turmoil Thread*
I had this happen once. It turned out to be the brass washer on my glow plug. It wasnt the same thickness all around causing a bad seal. The plug wasnt that old so I think it was deffective out of the package. I replaced the washer from an old plug and problem solved. If your plug is going in at an angle you may have cross threaded the plug... just a thought.

RE: Turmoil racers
I raced mine this past Saturday using Supertool28's setup and took first place in the Bmain and 6th in the Amain. I should mention that this was my first time racing so I think that says something for the Turmoil and Supertool28's setup!

Well for all that thought lean LSN... you were correct. I richened the LSN a little and it seemed to help. I think it may need a little more yet but I will have to finish tuning it in another day due to rain today. Thanks for everyones input.

Engine idle problem
Ok I have the sportwerks .26 engine that is broken in properly and running good now for the most part. I took my car to a track today and I noticed that after running full wide open throttle and then letting off the triger to hit a jump the engine doesn't go back to idle imediately causing the wheels to continue spinning and causing my car to jump nose high or backflip. I have checked throttle linkages and idle screw settings. It Idles just fine and doesn't have a tedancy to spin the wheels unless I have made a highspeed full throttle run. after 15 to 20 sec. it goes back to normal idle "no wheel spin". I backed the idle screw out a bit but I cant keep the engine running with such a low idle setting. I'm new at this so Im sure I'm missing something. Anyone have any ideas?

RE: Best RTR 1/8 gas buggy
aaron89 Try adding it to your cart to get the discount. I just tried it and now they have lowered it to $419 before the cupon... go figure I just purchased mine a month ago! March cupon is still good use DPPMAR825. drops it down to $394 To answer your questions about the RTR versus the Pro. The Pro version has more hop up parts and weighs less than the RTR and geared a little more for racing. All of the Pro parts are available and fit the RTR though. As for the engines they are both very powerful but the .21 is required if you plan on racing sanctioned events where the engines are restricted to .21 size. If you just plan on club racing at your local track then the .26 will.

RE: Best RTR 1/8 gas buggy
I was in your shoes not long ago and I decided on the Sportwerks Turmoil RTR and I have been very pleased with it. It does cost a little more but it includes the Spectrum radio and it''s competative if you decide to race. I think Amain has them listed for $439.00 and if you do a search here on RCU you can find a $25 cupon code bringing it down to $414.00.

RE: sportwerks .26 engine problem HELP!
Well rccheech I pulled the cylinder head and sure enough the sleeve does not move at all! This is a brand new engine and I followed the break in instructions provided in the Sportwerks manual. As for running it while it was bogging down it was a short period of time in my opinion "maybe five minutes" in which I continued trying to richen the needle before it finally flamed out. It seemed that no matter how much I backed it out it continued to bog down at full throttle. I was checking the engine temps with a heat gun and it was never over 250. As I mentioned I even backed it out to factory specs and it won’t even start now! The engine turns over but it will not fire at all. I can watch the fuel line going into the carburetor and I don’t see any fuel moving in the line at all unless I cover the stinger while turning it over? I'm new at this but I tried to follow all directions very close during break in and I invested in a heat gun to prevent over temping the engine! I can't seem to figure out what I did wrong. Is it possible I just got a bad engine?

RE: sportwerks .26 engine problem HELP!
Thanks rccheech I tried this and and it sidn't work either. It doesn't seem like it's pumping any fuel to the carb? I pulled the fuel line off and no fuel would come out unless I put my finger over the stinger. Any more ides? Thanks

sportwerks .26 engine problem HELP!
I just picked up a Sportwerks Turmoil RTR and have run it 10 times now and the engine was broke in properly according to the manual. I started to lean the High Speed Needle on the 7th tank and it ran great up until today. Today was the 10th tank and it was bogging down at full throttle even to the point the engine flamed out one time. Now I can't even get it to start. I have tried a new glow plug, set the engine needles back to factory specs, and checked all the fuel lines and filters finding no visible problems. I'm still new at this so there may be something I haven't thought of. Please Help! Thanks

Need help choosing first buggy!
I’m new to nitro buggies and I’m looking for a 1/8 entry level buggy in the $300 range. I will mostly be running out in the back yard but I would like to take it to the local track to race occasionally and hopefully be somewhat competitive. Right now the two that I have been looking at are the Ofna Ultra LX One RTR w/.28 Engine and the DuraTrax 1/8 Raze Buggy w/.27 RTR. Looking for some input here as to which one would better fit my needs. I'm also open to suggestions if there is one I have overlooked that may be better than these two. Any help is appreciated Thanks!

Hi, I have several flights on mine and it's setup with the stock grub screw configuration. I have not had any problems as of yet but I do check it occasionally to make sure they are tight. Another suggestion is to use some thread lock on the grub screw. Brandon

RE: Yellow F-18 Single as first Jet?
Hi Ron, I have the F-18 single powered with a turbine and this was my first attempt at jets "ducted fan or turbine" I did the maiden on this plane myself without the help of any experienced turbine pilot and the plane flies pretty much the same as any pattern plane in the air. There was a learning curve involved in landings since this plane requires some power during landing. I think if you've had some previous experience with a heavier 1/4 scale warbirds and likely have had to use throttle management during the landing approach then this should be no problem for you. The best advice here would be to stay well above the power curve on the first few flights until you get the feel for it. I consider myself an average pilot at best and while I had a few issues at first trying to learn how to land it I have been successful with it. I think you will do fine if you choose this plane as a first ducted fan or turbine model. Good Luck, Brandon

Thanks Guys, I kind of figured this was the response I would get. I must have missed the other threads on this subject, but after doing a search looks as if it was a hot topic for a while. I have to agree I would pay a little more for the Skymaster kits to ensure I have someone to go to for answers if needed. Brandon

RE: Yellow aircraft F-18 setup
Hi Steven, I have one with this exact same tank layout and I have it setup for the 32oz tank to empty first, then the saddle tanks, and finally the UAT. I have several flights with this setup and it flies great... I would recomend 10 deg. flaps on takeoff. I measured my C.G. exactly as the manual lists at 12.5" from the trailing edge including the flap. The best way to balance is with the gear retracted and the UAT full. All other tanks empty. Hope this helps and good look with the maiden. Take some video! Brandon

Total Run Time has changed?
I received my 1200SP engine back from your shop a couple of weeks ago and it runs great but I did notice that when I view the total run time with my IRDT it shows 203 hours now but only 31 starts. 31 starts would be a correct number however 203 hours is obviously not. Is there any way to change this back? I plan on using this information to determine when the maintenance interval is reached. The engine shouldn't have any more than 3 hours on it. Thanks, Brandon

RE: SIMJET QUESTION
Hi John, I have one and have owned another 13lbs 1200. I think it's a great engine and Only problem I ever had on any of my Simjets was a failed thermocouple which a replacement was sent out with just a phone call. Service from Great Northern Models has been great. If I had to do it all over again I would buy another.

RE: Finished Yellow F-18 Single
ORIGINAL: Stalker-RCU Your single looks great! What paint did you use? Now I can't wait to get back after my tour is over, so I can finish mine. It has been sitting on my work bench for the last 7 months. Talk about going through RC withdrals [:(] Good luck on the first flight.
Hi Stalker-RCU, The paint that I used was flat latex from Lowes. When sprayed on with an HVLP gun you can get a nice finish with it. I then used the Top Flight Lustercote flat clear after applying the decals. I did the maiden on it last weekend and wow! does it fly nice. With 45 deg flaps on landing it slows down really fast so you have to stay on the throttle. Once I figured that out the landings were perfect. The Simjet 1200SP 17lbs engine makes it move like a rocket! So far I have three flights on mine and I have yet to be full throttle except for take off, and flying it at half throttle it still has plenty of power. Good Luck with yours, Brandon

Strange temp readings
When I first turned the power on to my 1200 SP the temperature reading was at 80deg C and the engine started a cool down sequence which never stopped. This was going to be the very first flight of the day so it wasn't hot from a previous run. When I got home the reading was 18 deg and I started the engine with no trouble but afterwards I let everything cool and turned it on again to find the reading at 67deg which is obviously not room temperature. What could be the problem? Brandon

RE: Finished Yellow F-18 Single
Thanks guys, Jedijingle The front nose strut is the same one you get from Yellow Aircraft, I just added the launch bar by using some scrap wood pieces glued together to form the basic shape and some small plastic tubing glued to both ends. Then believe it or not I used a zip tie to secure it to the strut![:)] I did use some Hysol as a fillet and kind of made it form around the zip tie until I was satisfied with the look and then I painted it. It turned out pretty good and I thought it made a big difference in the scale like look from a distance and it was easy to do. Brandon
