RE: Lipo charger
Thunder Power TP-610C or a Hitec X4. These are both good...the 610 will do 1 battery at a time and the X4 will do 4 batteries at a time.

RE: Spitfire Brotherhood (All Spitfires Welcome)
Here is my ESM Spitfire with a DLE 20. I have a SR Batteries 3500 mAh NiCd strapped beneath the engine that runs the ignition and receiver. The battery is connected to a Tech-Aero Ultra Ibec. I have now changed this setup from one NiCd to 2 Fromeco 2600 mAh Lithium Ion batteries sitting in the same space as this NiCd. The Li Ion batteries allow for redundancy through a Smartfly Bat Share. Hope this helps.
ORIGINAL: abufletcher I would imagine that what matters are the planes of the antennas relative to the transmitter on the ground.
Yes, you are absolutely correct. From what I had read, my understanding was that the purpose of 2 antennae were so that they can be placed on different planes and the tests they ran showed the signal was more secure in this scenario. I don't even remember if it was a Futaba report. I will continue to see if I can find this report or whatever it was I read. Hang in there HPA this is going to be riveting!!!!

RE: Eindecker EIII
It is an interesting conversation. I wish I could remember where I was informed about this antenna setup. It was included in a test of range strength compared to a 2.4 JR radio. If in the plane diagram the antennae are placed 90 degrees to each other and one of the antenna are not placed on the intersection line of the two planes then they can never be on the same plane regardless of how you turn the plane. We can continue this conversation this weekend. In the meantime I am going to try to find the article or video where this was discussed. Seems to me that is was a few years ago.

RE: Eindecker EIII
No, my antennas are in two separate planes...picture one is flat horizontal as yours and the other is vertical or rising up the side of the fuse by way of example. Maybe this diagram will work. My understanding using this diagram is that one should be on the purple plane facing straight up or down and the other should face fore or aft on the blue plane. Clear as mud?? That was harder than I thought it would be.

RE: Eindecker EIII
It's a true work of "RC" art. Hey, shouldn't those Futaba antennas be in different planes from each other? I always thought that was the way the Futaba antennas were to be mounted. Maybe it's just an old wives tale but I have always mounted mine that way...one on a vertical plane and one on a horizontal plane.

I used Power HD 1501 mg servos on my flaps. Tons of torque for $12.50. 236 oz/in of torque in a metal gear analog servo. They are available at valuehobby.com. I used Hitec 645's on the rudder, ailerons and elevator.

RE: I'd Like to propose an addendum to the safety code
ORIGINAL: warbird_1 I'm talking mostly about the spectators . but what bothered me was the fact that it happened in clear site of the AMA council while they were conducting a meeting while that plane was clearly breaking the 200 MPH mark set by AMA. that bothered me
What can be done now is the simple enforcement of the existing rules. When we fly anything around spectators there should be an Air Boss or CD who is the final authority. When we fun fly daily with other pilots they assume the risks of flying with others and generally know the limitations of the aircraft in the air and know to keep a lookout for a wayward aircraft. That is not true with spectators who do not know the potential dangers of a wayward aircraft. My suggestion, based on what you shared, is perhaps to limit the size of events to what can be enforced by a CD or Air Boss particularly where more than a few spectators are involved. That would provide a good start. Also, your comment about the AMA Council...as the leadership goes so goes the membership.

Flew a second maiden on the new set of wings yesterday and made four flights in all. Plane flies beautifully at 32 lbs. I have 4 clicks of down trim in the elevator and 3 more mixed in when the wheels go up due to the heavy Robart wheels and brakes. Did not get any video but I hope to on my next outting. Sure is a kick to get this plane back in the air flying like a bomber.

RE: NEW KMP 95
That's a shame they can't work with you on this. Maybe you could shoot a few closeup shots of the alignment issues and send them to ARF Pros and Troy Built. You would think that ARF Pros would work with you and represent your situation with their supplier (Troy Built). Turning you over to the distributer just doesn't seem right. I agree with Eldher, make sure those wings are not twisted due to the alignment problems.

Wart Hog- Mine has about 2 degrees of right thrust on the copilot engine and 0 on the pilot engine. Both of mine have a small amount of down thrust and I added more after the first flight. I have a book that shows the full scale B-25 had neutral thrust in both directions. Hope this helps.

That doesn't quite cover it... 1. Get up early! 1.5. Watch Billy Thompson fly. 2. Wait for enough light to see....... 3. Then fly! 4. When its too dark to fly - don't. Pretty simple set of rules we use. Yep, that covers it!!!!

RE: Multi-engine Ignition Setup
I am flying a ESM 95" B-25 with DLE 20's on one ignition battery. My battery is a SR 3500 mAh 5 cell Nicd. I have an ignition switch on each nacelle with charge jack. I can charge battery from either side. The battery is above the nose wheel for balance with two wires running to the nacelle through the wing beside flap, aileron and landing light wires. I am using a Smartfly Power Expander but that does not apply to the ignition battery. I am using SR batteries NiCd because it does not have to be cycled...they warn against it for their NiCds. I am using servos on my chokes for engine kill rather than optical kill. One switch on my TX operates both chokes. This setup is easy and effective. Running the engines for an hour uses up about 1/3 of the battery capacity. You should have no trouble with a full day of flying without recharging. I never fast charge my batteries. Hope this helps.
