RE: CG for Nitro plane
ORIGINAL: markhamregular I bought a NitroModel Double Trouble Two P-51 Mustang 60, and I lost the Link this word and every other one like it in our forum to YOUR Website! manual. Anyone knows the CG for that model? If not, is the first rib supporter of the wing the place where most CG are located? I would hate to crash on my maiden flight. I previously posted the above in the Nitro forum but I got no answer. Thanks,
I always balance on the wing spar or 1/4" forward of that on my 40 size planes...with the fuel tank empty.

RE: OS GT33 33cc gasser
ORIGINAL: PlaneKrazee
ORIGINAL: jnred123 But we probably need a more objective viewpoint on the OS33 than a factory gun pilot . Cheers Greg
Greg, OS is not one of his sponsors, 3DHS, DA and Futaba yes. I don't think he's exaggerating about performance. He did say he had only two flights on it and it was obviously running well.
Well it certainly flew well in flight. Since Futaba/Tower Hobbies/OS Engines are all kinda the same thing...it is possible that he didn't just get a random engine from inventory. However, OS Engines have a great reputation for consistant quality...so I don't think any funny business is going on. It looks like a nice engine, and the video showed it could put out the power too.

hey, nice buy! Can I run a OS F glow plug in mine? The stock one is working fine, but who knows for how long. Is this fuel ok (it is what I run in my newer engines): 15% Nitro PowerMaster Airplane 17% oil Synthetic / Castor Blend http://www.powermasterfuels.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=6&Itemid=8
ORIGINAL: Avaiojet
did you try giving a little up elevator to get the tail up sooner?
Down elevator would bring the tail up sooner.
ah, that is what i meant. up on the stick, down deflection on the actual surface. i added tall landing gear legs to my Clancy Lady Bug. With the added height, she likes a little help getting the tail high. good to hear he is excited about repairing. crashing is half the fun! = more build time!

RE: BUSA D-VII BUILD @ EAA 2010
have you tried that 1/16"-1/4" wide high-dollar tape that the hobby shop sells? i used some recently on a heli canopy with zero bleed through. automotive detailing tape probably is similar stuff. i'd dare say that blue/green tape from the hardware store is sub par for an application like this. i don't have much experience though...so don't mind me too much. just a thought. mark.

RE: BUSA D-VII BUILD @ EAA 2010
hey I just found this thread. nice work! on the bird strike, I'd be tempted to do a 'field repair' by using black thread to sew up the split. i've ordered plans for the 1987 Whitehead .40 size DVII. I'll be using your good ideas whenever possible. Mark II

RE: Painting over ultra cote?
i used some clear flat laquer rattle can stuff on one of my electric warbirds covered in plastic covering. it worked well, but left some white areas that took a while for me to get used to. i just did a light coating. any bits that get rubbed off can easily be resprayed if needed.

wow, she is lookin great! my 57" Big Bee is one of my favs. your engine looks monstrous...hopefully you get some nice vertical lines out of it. one question about your windshield area...I see the traditional vertial sticks missing...aren't they there to help hold the wing on?

Thanks for the reply. Is it easy to fly? I had a Hyperion Edge 540 10e with similar power setup. I crashed it twice from user error. Is the Chippy claimed to be 'better/easier' than the Edge? Mark II
