RE: Back In Stock!!! 1:6 scale NB Jeep
Hello...Vader5 Cobra ... a member of this forum has already given some models of 4 th gears .. See below. All ratios are shown. YELLOW-CRAWLER has a 4 th gear 34 X 10 = 184 / 1 You can find them in old models of rc found in flea markets. The installation of the 4 th gears should not be difficult. good luck[:)][8D][:)] COBRA69 said .... I have used different size compound gears for the 4th gear mod with good results, the only thing that changes is your final drive ratio. 46x10 10t pinion=199 to 1 46x10 ((( 8t pinion )))=248to1 42x14 10t pinion=130 to1 42x14 ((( 8t pinion )))=162 to 1 56x10 10t pinion=242 to 1 56x10 ((( 8t pinion )))=302 to 1 Hope this helps a little ......

RE: NB 1:10 Rockcrawler - stock
One or two members of another forum had calculated the ratio of YELLOW-CRAWLER .. by adding the 4 th gera ((( 34 x 10 ))) and this ratio was 184 / 1. RE: NB 1:10 Rockcrawler - stock
YELLOW-CRAWLER has its stock engine. I installed the 280 ... but I found the speed too fast on the rock. I replaced the stock engine and all is well now. Without the 4 th gear, the 280 helps a little for strength but the crawler runs a little faster. (((( To install the 4 th gear, you should consider all the thread related to it. Many have succeeded. ))))

RE: NB 1:10 Rockcrawler - stock
Yes, the dirt can penetrate, but I covered the engine and gears with a piece of black cloth ... and I stick that I could remove if repairs were needed. For a crawler climbing requires that its speed is very low and the engine does not force the endroirs difficult. In other words, all four tires must turn if we place the nose of the crawler on the wall .. and as long as the batteries are working. So, the installation of the 4 th gears on the NB 1 / 10 is almost necessary. RE: NB 1:10 Rockcrawler - stock
Graupner motors are good motors, but their price is quite high. I think your second choice would be good .. I am not so documented on the issue of moteurs. I found mine in a war-tank radio shack I think .. They were 280 and it works very well .. All 280 that accepts 9.6 volts should do the job. With the 4 th gear, you do not have to change engines .. the crawler will be very effective all the same. The speed is slow and the crawler is very strong. Look on the forum, many have installed different engines.

RE: NB 1:10 Rockcrawler - stock
Hello ... kasteer. Good job on this NB 1 / 10. You will find the 280 in stores HOBBY / GRADE .. and can be on EBAY. Their price is reasonable. The forum is idling in this time and I rarely have a look here. The return spring can be removed. The advantage is that the steering motor, will be less difficult to work and conduct will be easier on the rock. Will conduct quite well. You will get him back in the center with the controller. Do not forget that these NB are made for climbing, not for the race ... so it is slow. And for this reason YELLOW CRAWLER, has a 4 th hear. After...................................................................................................Before... RE: My collection
ORIGINAL: Spiike  the problem with converting the new bright jeep to 4th gear and new motor, is that the torque from the new gear ratio, breaks the cv joints, so figuring out the CV joint is your first project, Aluminum or brass tubing is your best bet solving the cv joint breaking. and aligning the gears wth the other gears is very hard too!
Yes, the CV joint in brass, mounted on ((YELLOW-CRAWLER)) for several years are still operational. Finish the wear of the CV joint. The installation of the 4 th gear requires a lot of présicion, and must be installed firmly to what is not moving. I have to install a pinion 8 teeth, to replace that of 10 teeth. The engines are the 280 that I took in a war-tank. . I've never had to redo the work.
