RE: New Aquisition

RE: HL RX18 electronics in Mato Sherman?
you may have to rewire the turret configuration (of course you would also have to use the HL transmitter.

RE: Mato's vs RCCommand's 3:1 gearboxes
I have both gear boxes Mato 3:1 and RCCommand. The mato I have yet to install but (not knowing what torque it has I do know that it has a high revolution rate compared to a stock HL GB with white capped motors) The RCCommand has very low revolution and amazing torque (with white capped motors) I had to replace the white capped with Speed 400s to get the tank (tigers and king tigers with metal tracks) to get the speed up to where it was reasonable) Nevertheless, these tanks have amazing power http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FD1iscA2MfA I am going to be putting the Matorro 3/1 in my stug tonight and I will tell you how they compare the the stock HL gear box set up

RE: My experiences with my new Mato Sherman
all I can speak to is the problem with your airsoft gun. The electric motor in your gun has dislodged. You need to just push it back into the unit (you will have to open the tank up)

RE: HL RX18 electronics in Mato Sherman?
All my RX18 boards I have ( 3 tanks with factory installed boards) and 4 RX18 replacements boards (I go them 2 weeks ago) all have the older tank sounds. Only KV1 has a different sound. So it looks like they did have 2 different sound cards ( I'm getting 6 more RX18 boards this week. I wonder what sounds they will have

RE: T-34 Idler Wheel adjuster
the t-34 metal tracks are not a beefy as the metal tracks you get other tanks so the need to get a stronger drive system in not really necessary. By using an RX board should be sufficient to power the T-34 with metal tracks

RE: HL RX18 electronics in Mato Sherman?
QUESTION??? The KV1 comes with an RX18 board but sounds totally different than the RX18 boards that you get in the german tanks. Does anyone know why that is? If there is a difference in the two RX8 boards then maybe you would want to consider the KV1 board.

RE: Motor and Gearbox Testing
here is what I use (with a standard metal gears with white capped motors) http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXMRG2&P=7 They work great especially if you are using the RX18 board If you go 3:1 I suggest getting speed400 motors (without them the tanks are really slow)

THe 1/6 Stuart really puts the Jagd into perspective. The Jagd is twice the size.

black capped motors, plastic gears and a RX 18 board would make a tiger like a race car :)

RE: ASIATAM TIGER 1 HULL. Who has one?????
I have one with metal road wheels. I can not compare it to their other metal hulls but compared to Tamiya is is good quality but it has a pretty stiff suspension (not sure how to loosen it mind you)

if its all aluminium (gears and all) then I would think that they could get even more power with upgrades.

RE: 1/16 StuH 42 with Upgraded Airsoft
You mean Creeping Death. I had one of their turrets. All they did was replace the stock HL gun with a VS one. So you would be looking at around 150fps +/-. I think once you get to 300fps you will be able to penetrate a coke can (with one shot)

RE: 1/16 StuH 42 with Upgraded Airsoft
I don't know. But I've been able to get a gun to shoot as high as 275fps. (typical is about 225) For comparison my TM Tiger is about 140 fps and my stock HL Panzer III and IV is about 100fps)I tried to get my hands on a 6.01mm inner diameter barrel (on ebay but lost it to another bidder). This would have most likely increase the power 10-20 fps) I'm currently using 6.03mm inner diameter barrels (optimal length is about 10cm +/-)

RE: Sherman at the YHR shops
I use frosting on all my tanks. Some work better than others mind you. When you find the right brand it really makes the tank. And its awesome for covering decals. Just make sure you gloss the surface before putting them on. That gloss surface will eliminate any silvering. The frosting will eliminate the gloss look and give your tank an extremely flat look with no gloss what so ever. That exhaust cover was shinny until I gave it several costs of window frosting

RE: 1/16 StuH 42 with Upgraded Airsoft
Small Joes sells the 1/18 figures but I can't see any german tankers. There is one for sale on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/21st-WWII-GERMAN-ARDENNES-INFANTRY-TANKER-1-18-Figure_W0QQitemZ130337720320QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item1e58bbc800#ht_1799wt_1134 I took the winter tanker and replaced his head (they come off) with an infantry man's head and painted the helmets white
