RE: Question - Why do we promote clubs?
I started in the hobby two years ago and fly nothing but electric 40 size or better planes. I would not have succeeded if it were not for the club I joined. They also have alot of events each year that are fun, such as Military show, Pylon racing and of course combat.

RE: Kadet Seniorita EP 63
bobferguson I think it would not teach you that much, but from what I understand this plane is a joy to fly (at least the gas version). I learned to fly on a electristar and moved up to a Pulse XT my self. I love my pulse and take it out almost everytime I go out. I am working with someone who is just learning to fly, right now he flys my electristar. He wants his own plane and this looks like a perfect .40 EP trainer.

power help for a H9 p-47 .60
I am about to convert a H9 P-47 and thinking about running it with either a power 60 HV-85 and 7S 4900mah 20C. Either that or a power 90. Has anyone ever a power 60 with a 7s and does this look like this setup would work for this plane?

Smoke is bad
I have a nice richmodels spitfire 40 that I run a monster power 46 5s 20 4900mah battery and a CC80 ESC. I put it on the run way walk off the field started to up the throttle and motor screeched and smoke started to come out of the cowl. I got the battery disconnected and found that the ESC was completely roasted. I test the battery and it shows no damage all cells showing 4.18. I have over 50 flights on this setup. The Speed controller is rather roasted. Here is a pic after I got it off the plane. http://www.flickr.com/photos/thrawn150/3533367475/in/set-72157605690629741/

I did balance inverted. This is my first time using this device, have 2 other planes (h9 pulse xt 40 and electristar) that I fly and always just used fingers.

I would also say this is a excellent second plane, I went from a electristar to this plane. I am running it with the power 46 and 2 2 cell 6000mah batteries. Its a blast to fly and looks great in the air.

Help Pulse Xt 40 EP build
I have the plane 99% done, but having issues with the cowl. It does not go back far enough, the directions say to trim it, but it flares so I can not see how that will help. I can tap it with my hand and it almost makes it, but don't want to force it unless that is how I have to do it. This and the cockpit glass are the last things I have to get done, it balanced perfect with 2 2 cell 6000MAH battery's.

Pulse XT 40 RX question
This is the first large plane I have ever put together so forgive me if this is a stupid question, but I am using a Spektrum AR7000 RX and Spektrum 1100mah RX battery. I do not see any way to secure them except to us Velcro tape, but I am afraid that a med to hard landing would jar them loose. Is there something I am missing?
