RE: JetJoe OWNERS thread
Yup send it to Gabe he will do the right thing. I sent him my early manual start jj1400, I could not get that thing running for love nor money. I put a new shaft tunnel with sleave and spring (new sleave and spring was a very poor fit.) in it,new cc, fuel needles. I sent it to Gabe and got it running. Then set it up for autostart. All for $215.00 Oh ya the ECU died while Gabe had it so he replaced it.[:)] Tim.

RE: To all the PARK Fliers out there
I had a brand new 45 powered plane I was trying to get some flight time on. I spent $500.00 for this plane and radio because the club did not want anyone to use electric planes for learning. First time out the instructor via the buddy box got me set up and I was flying again after a 15 year lay off it felt good. Then the instructor said he was going to take control and as soon as he did the plane came down right in front of us full speed, the plane burst into tooth picks. Every one said WOW. This was 2 years ago, Since I have been flying my wingo, slow stick and aeroace. Electrics are more fun. I fly almost anywhere even in my front yard. I have many hours of flight time now. No thanks to any clubs or the AMA. However there is an all electric club near by that I may look into. Tim.

RE: Shady AeroAce. Please help.....
WOW [X(] that would drive me crazy. I would think that electromagnetic radiation from the sun would be whats causing your problem. Perhaps if your antena is just enough out of tune this may effect it. I cant think of anything else. I would take the drive and get another plane, there so inexspensive and fun I wouldnt waste time messing with it. But that would be a good problem for an electronics engineer. Tim.

RE: Bad News for us? Small UAV THreat
I can tell you first hand that this government has made it difficult and expensive for the hobby rocket people to contunue with there hobby so difficult in fact that I gave up large scale and experimental rocketry. I for one have no doubt that the US at some point will start to regulate r/c just as they are regulating rocketry. My $ .02[:'(]

I find that I dont have a lower throttle setting maybe a little less than half throttle with fresh charge. I need to work on the turning trim as it wants to turn to the left but the trim knob is turned a little right.[X(]

As for myself why would I join the AMA when I can fly my electric planes most anywhere I like here in N.H. with no restrictions. I was a AMA member in the last club I joined, the AMA or club did nothing for me when a trainning pilot crashed my $400.00 trainer. I for one dont need a elelctric AMA.[:)]

You need to remember these are sold as toys in toy stores. Just bring it back to exchange for another. You'll get a good one. I dont know how long they last, mines had many crashs nose first into the ground and it keeps on flying. I need to buy another in case they stop makeing them.[:D]

RE: Air Hogs Aero Ace!
Cool I think I'll try the rechargeable AAs, Thanks. As for flying height. I have been flying in my front yard no more than 10 or 20 feet high. Got it stuck in two trees, on my porch roof. I think its more fun to fly low. After flying gas and big electric planes its nice to fly just above my head. Tim.

I have several machines built in China, they cost less and are of high quality. I stopped buying from the UK as the currency exchange rate is to high, Euros much better. As for my part, I'm very happy with jetjoe. I have a new updated cc sent to me free and free shipping. Yup very happy. Tim.

Tahiet why didnt you send it back to joe? Mine still runs good. The first time I ran it I didnt even use an ECU. In fact I followed WrenS instructions for running a MW54 with out an ECU. Hmmm I guess some people think the Chinees are dumb uneducated.

RE: JetJoe
As I have written on another thread, I think much of this uncertenty stems from the fact that JJ has not spoken out for his motors, I do wonder about this. I did e-mail the USA rep. at jetjoe USA for some info a couple of days ago but havent got a reply yet. I did e-mail a rep. in the US a few weeks ago for some info and he got right back to me so the whole JJ info thing is a bit sketchy.

RE: Cheap turbines??
Wren is the one saying that JJ copied there MW54 MK2 maybe he did, Wren only publishes the drawings for the MK2 I have a set of the MK2 drawings but I dont have a JJ1200. I dont think it would be useful to compair the 1400 with Wrens drawings. I would say that the JJ motors at least the 1200 and 1400 are more for the home builder type. The person who has tools and can tweak turbines. Much of this uncerteny I'm sure comes from JJ who ever he is not coming forth and speaking out for his motors. JET JOE SPEAK OUT. Maybe low cost is better than saying cheap. The JJs are low cost but not cheap. The parts are well manufactured tolerances seem to be good, at $700.00 a motor thats not cheap.

RE: Cheap turbines??
The JJ 1200 is a copy for sure, the 1400 maybe. But then all turbines except for the Phoenix are copies to some degree. And yes Wren and others have done some research to design a better running turbine its more a matter of tweaking than inovative design. There have been companies are still are who buy parts from Wren and sell the turbines. Hmm are these copies too?
