RE: Are Hall Sensors Interchangeable between brands?
Some are latching and require 2 magnets to work. So some different brands will interchange, but there are many that won't.

RE: Need ignition info!!
You have a Pro Spark, the adjustment is the total advance. You set sensor timing around 0-5 deg BTDC. NEVER, NEVER power up the ignition with out the coil hooked up and a properly grounded spark plug.

The one in the picture is the 60-90 sized US, not the 120 sized one. If you look at the plans you can see that they are different. The idea is the same but the looks are not.

Don't know if it will help but the Champ Y 82 (Zenoah G-20) is a few thousands bigger in the hex.
ORIGINAL: madereg Hi Dobra,  I've got a question for you regarding your Evolution engine. Did you have to do anything special to get your ingnition wire/boot to connect to your spark plug? They sent a CM-6 NGK spark plug with the engine. When I connect the ignition wire to it, it does not really fit. It will not push and lock onto the plug. It just sort of barely sits on there...it would fall off just from the vibration or just gravity. Did you run into any problem like this with your Evo engine? I checked with my local hobby shop where I bought the engine from and they were no help. They just told me to contact Horizon Hobby or Evolution. Of course, they don't have technical support on the weekends. <img src=''http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/msn/angry_smile.gif'' alt='''' />.  I'd like to know which spark plug they provided with your Evo 26 and if you ran into any issues with connecting the ignition to the plug? Thanks, Mike
T.O.M. the average DLE 30 owner won't be able to make a intake stuffer, their just at the wrong end of the talent pool. So DLE has 3 choices 1. Ignore 2. Ignore and make V2 asap 3. Step up to the plate and make a heat dam stuffer and ship it to all their authorized dealers and then make a V2. We shall see what we will see.

The carb idle mix is dead lean it, it will not accelerate until it warms up. This the second DL 30. I reported on the first earlier, with careful carb adjustment it is running better than the new one.

RE: 180FS Glow to Gas
When pumping form the crankcase with a converted 4c sometimes there is a problem with oil in the pump line. One drop will stop the pump. The WT 456 Walbro is designed to pump from the intake manifold pulse, you might try one if you have the oil in the pump line problem

Sounds like the one of the carb gaskets is flipped and the pump can't work. Did you remove the throttle spring or make a new throttle arm on the carb???

RE: NEW DLE30!
No diddling yet, but some time on the stand seeing what is happening.... So engine stock mounted upright. The engine has 15 min on it and the carb is sorta adjusted. Idle speed is 2200 rpm. SO tip the engine carb down and wait nothing changes. Back upright, blip the throttle a few times, then idle and tip carb up. The engine goes rich and does not quit. So I found the "problem". BUT if the fuel was puddling, it should drain out and then the engine would speed up as the mix went lean AND it didn't it, ran for 45 seconds at the slower RPM with out quiting or cleaning out and speeding up. The stand is heavy so after 45 sec I stood it back upright, The rpm went back to 2200 instantly. So something is going on, but I don't know what. More checks as the weather improves, maybe adjust the LS needle when its tipped?????? IMHO if the engine was idling at 1600 rpm and tipped, would probably die.

Film clip sounds good. You might want block off some of the cowl opening so that most of the air going through the cowl goes past the engine. Also be prepared to tweak the needles based on how it sounds under +- G's

If you run the flywheel and magneto ignition there is not much excess weight. Milling like a madman will gain a couple of oz, not much more.

Remember if you install 2 switches you need to treat them like magnetos on a full sized plane. Check each one for correct operation before EACH flight. If you just turn them both on and take off, you could be flying with a dead switch, an if the OTHER one gets funky.......................[X(]

RE: Store gas engine during winter in plane
Some where in the engine conversion section there is a thread about running Colman fuel before storage. Mix up a batch of Colman fuel with an oil that has fuel stabilizer in it. Run you engine till you can smell the Colman fuel then pull off the fuel line off the carb and run the carb dry. That's about all you can do. OR you could just fly all winter[:D]

IMHO. Two smaller batteries and two switches. Next would be one large battery with two power leads and 2 switches. Ive seen way more switch failures than I have seen in flight battery failure.

Its got an RC Ignition conversion. Replacing the sensor is easy but a PIA. To convert it to RCEXL you must remove the pushrod to the carb and use it to lock the timing in the 28-30 degree range.

RE: Ex or current G38, US 41, Quadra 42 owners ???
Use an OUT of balance prop. Set the heavy end so that it is in line with the counter weight. Better?, then enjoy. Worse? then rotate prop 180 deg and try again. This presupposes that the crankshaft is straight.
