RE: spektrum vs JR
Spektrum and JR are both using us as beta testers, so let the technology mellow a bit, for a better word. Talk to the many that lost planes before the initial software updates. Maybe you should just get a 9 channel from hobby king, at least they know how to rip off the technology. Good luck.

On these new ones I have a question. Is the canopy tented? In your pictures it sure looks like it.

RE: HOBBY king going down the tube?
ORIGINAL: vasek flyoz, you seem like a sensible person. Yes i want a pristine plane that looks good. I will put a short peace of carbon rod in the wingtips (they're little crumpled & soft), filler/ sand & repaint. I will paint them light blue (it's scale ;) ), since no paint will match the original color. It will cost more than the $10 credit I got from HK, but I'm willing/ ready to go on with my modelling [:)] Thanks to all who supported my quest for perfection LOL. And for those who ding their planes assembling it or transporting it to the field, well good for you! [:D] Cheers, V.
You can tell that ausie pc of work knows that he can get away with it. The damage that you sustained looks as if the plane shifted side to side in the box. Still is a packing midcue caused by HK. I had in all fairness a similar problem with a foam wing that I bought from hobby lobby once. The box was double and in perfect condition but the plane looked as if the plane had been stepped on before it was put in the box. Their response after an emailed picture, was to send a new one out that I had with in one week. By the way it was a crash sell item and only cost $29, and they paid shipping. Get some good crash sales again and Ill be right there again. HK sucks

RE: HOBBY king going down the tube?
Get real no damage is at all acceptable. Its as if HK works under a whole different set of rules and standards knowing that they will get away with it. S**t can HK. Maybe its not to late for the high priced US companies with great service to stay in business. I truely hope that they do make a comeback because I really feel guilty buying from HK. Maybe they could get better pricing to go along with their excellent service. Maybe better yet a new US company that goes direct to China to get stuff and then does it right and we could all say Adios to HK

RE: I tried to warn him
ORIGINAL: KitBuilder Im not sure why all think was so ''cool''. Maybe its the ''expendable nature of the hobby that has introduced the masses in recent years. Just go buy another one? If he hit the powerlines and casued damage, it would have been a serious black eye for all and on our sport / hobby. Something tells me his punishment for being a complete idiot would have affected us all. ARFs are great for introducing the masses, unfortunately when you don't work for sometihng that you attain other than a hour at your kitchen table. your likely to be reckless. The fact the ''pilot'', and i use the term loosely, pulled the plane back by hand with virtually a 360 degree unobstructed field speaks volumes.
The reason some dont join clubs is people like you that seam to thank that building a kit is better than flying an arf. What percentage of kit builts crash and are uncontrollable on the maiden. If you like to do what I pay a china man to do, do it. Shoot maybe Ill hire you to build my kits but dont be elitest because you do. You have any idea how many close calls there are in RC that you just dont see because there is no camera on board. This in no way excuses reckless behavior, but I still say sweet.

RE: FlyBoyshobbies Me162 & Blohm & Voss 141
I have began to trick the cockpit out a little, nothing to fancy just a pilot and a picture of the original cockpit , like was done before. I need to figure out the cover over the bullet proof glass? It really seems to be a major characteristic of the original and will help appearance from a short distance. Thanks to all for the help . I might just try the rocket motor, but at the same time I am thinking about just using some kind of smoke bomb. This is because Kahlog said the rocket motor doesnt really increase the thrust at all so save some money and maybe the smoke will last for most of the flight. I have a turnegy 42-40 750kv and two nanotech 4s 2200 mah batts to make a 8s monster? I know that the motor is on the small side of the size range, but the less weight might just counter balance it. I really want the plane to rock. This could all be changed after the maiden . PS Im not looking for long flight times maybe five good minutes or so. thanks

That was just simply fantastic...thank you. I loved the flight scenes and why cant they do that in a feature, perhaps even from one of the German pilots perspectives without all the dramatization. PS dont go getting artsy and making it in german and then make me read. I hate that.

RE: HobbyKing - Good or Bad
I have 17 mostly good orders from them. Some batteries puffed and one motor didnt work, some esc that where not of good quality. I guess my point is that we all have a deminished expectation of what is acceptable business behavior when it comes to HK. Like its ok to have BS customer service and a certain amount of crap, when I would never allow Great PLanes or Tower that leiniance. I however dont like them since, now you know how bad they have been gouging us all along on things like motors and batteries. Good example is I just ordered 5 jr style twisted extensions for $2 verses $4.95 each and shipping was 4.99 with a lipo for my radio and someother crap. Check out the weights and costs of things that are both in china and the us warehouse. Its mostly cheaper to still order from china

RE: Spektrum vs. Futaba?
You are probably right when you say that Spektrum uses us a beta testers. I had several problems with my DX7 as it was one of the first ones that they made. After some planes and time they finally updated my software and I really have had no more problems. Horizon will not pay for damages but in all fairness they have been really nice. My guess the dx8 will be good shortly too, so dont ever get a first run of radio including the new futabas. Probably will be as good off to buy the $50 turnegy 2.4 9 channel good lucik and all of them are somewhat problematic. Remember that the sweet water draws the flys instead of vinegar, or something like that anyway.
