RE: Carbon Fiber Pushrod Ends
[quote]Take a good look at the section where the threads and piece that goes over the push rod meet. If there is no radius, or the last thread runs right up to the larger section, be carefull. I have had three ( NOT Connectors RC brand) that were machined like that break off right at the last thread.[/quote] I found 2 more pics on their website. Is this what you are talking about? [quote] I don't think they were made out of stock even as good as 1018 which is on the bottom for our intent. I have made these in a pinch and pickup only 1144 type stock from my stock pile. I also blue them with gun bluing as I do with all the WW1 plane fittings and rigging.[/quote] The FAQ section says these are made of 303 Stainless. Is that strong enough?

Carbon Fiber Pushrod Ends
Hi there, I was wondering if anyone has used the CF pushrod ends from [link=http://www.connectorsRC.com]ConnectorsRC.com[/link]? They seem quite a bit cheaper than central hobbies and they're the capture type so they protect the Carbon from splitting at the ends?? Thanks for your help.

RE: Anyone use carbon fiber rod instead of music wire with Robostruts?
If you are still interested in using Carbon Fiber, You can get threaded ends [link=http://www.connectorsRC.com]HERE[/link] That will let you add a set screw.

RE: pushrods for Avistar
You could outfit your Avistar with CF pushrods for not too much money. You can get the CF pushrod ends [link=http://www.connectorsrc.com]HERE[/link] And you can get a good deal on Carbon tube [link=http://www.kitebuilder.com/catalog/index.php/cPath/33_56_58?osCsid=0255027001432d53560f67fba270b946]HERE[/link]

You can always change out your pushrods with CF tube and light 1/8 inch pushrod ends. Extremly strong and very light. They can be found [link=http://www.connectorsrc.com]HERE[/link]

RE: truggy pics.........
Here is my newly built RC8T. I have a Jammin .21 Plus in it. I'm new to the car part of the RC hobby and can't wait to get it to the local track to start practicing. The HPI phalines are just for driving on pavement around the house, but they sure look nice :)

RE: which .21 to use
I just put a Jammin JPX .21 in my RC8T......it's one of the best in that range and the price is pretty good... [link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXRYV2&P=7]http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXRYV2&P=7[/link]

My first truggy RC8T!
Well here is my RC8T. I'm just about finished.....still need to get a bump starter and a controller (I'm new to cars). I'm running the Jammin .21 engine in it...can't wait to see how good it runs. I'll be running on a clay track, but the phatlines are for driving around my house and just breaking in the motor. Tell me what you think!

RE: Getting into the nitro sport, all sugestions appreciated
Hey Dfrank08, I am new to the car part of this hobby as well and I also just bought a nitro rustler. I bought mine for $140 off of RCU and it's been an absolute blast. I've been flying RC planes for 15 years so tuning the engine was pretty similar. First thing I did was take it to my local hobby shop and have them check it over and make sure nothing major was wrong with it. 15 mins later we were popping wheelies in the parking lot and having a blast. I must admit that I now have a blue aluminum fettish and I NEEEED to replace all of the parts on my rustie......Just a few more to go and I'll be satisfied :) Best investment I got was getting a big blue bumper from RPM..... Here is a pic of mine so far..... Good luck!!!!

RE: U Can Do 3D
A Saito 100 with a Master Airscrew 15X6 prop will be a perfect combo for that plane. Since the Saito 115 came out, you can find some good used saito 100's.

RE: Carbon Fiber Pushrod End Failure (Twice)
The ones from ConnectorsRC.com are made of 303 Stainless steel with 4-40 threads. They're very strong and will not break at the threads....

RE: Need help with Rustler and TRX 2.5
I just had some carb problems myself. I bought my 2.5 used and I could not get a stable low idle. I finally discovered that the carb housing threading stripped where the High needle screws into it. A short drive to the hobby store and a $10 carb housing fixed the problem. I get a very stable low idle now with instant response.

Rustler 2.5r Upgrade Order
I have been building and flying RC planes for about 15 years and one of the kids in the neighborhood asked me to help fix his RC10GT car. At first things seemed pretty complicated, but pretty soon after, I was able to fix just about anything on that car. Also, it gave me the bug to buy my own. SO! I bought a used Traxxas Nitro Rustler 2.5r that is just about stock. I was wondering if you guys would help me figure out what needs to be replaced / upgraded first. I will be using this mostly on a local dirt track and maybe the backyard. I do not intend to be bashing this and attempting to make really huge jumps. BTW, pics or links to the upgraded parts would be most helpful! Also, if you have an upgraded Nitro Rustler, I'd love to see some pics of what you've done. Thanks for your responses! BTW, here is a pic of my rustler....

RE: Best profile control linkage
[quote]Guys, thanks for the replies. The shiny nipples look a lot like the 2-56/carbon tube pushrods I've made before, and they've been very strong but kind of heavy.[/quote] The 1/8th inch CF pushrods on www.connectorsRC.com are extremly light and strong. I was amazed at how small of diameter these are but really stiff and very strong. I used to use 2-56 allthread and then cover them with carbon tube (which is very heavy). The 4-40 thread on the pushrod ends lets you use the nicer and stronger 4-40 ball links and locking clevices. Also, they're half the price of the ones off of central hobbies website..... -Troy

RE: FLUTTER WITH U CAN DO
Make sure that all of your linkage is tight. Ball links on the servo arm, and locking clevis on the control surface. I use Carbon Fiber pushrods on all of my 3d planes.....super rigid and strong, plus super light! You can get the CF pushrod ends from www.connectorsRC.com

[quote]Looks like you didn't get around to tuning it yet, the header looks long and the gap in the coupling will burn through quickly. [/quote] Yeah, I partially tuned it, but still needs a little work to get it perfect :) Hey Dieselman, are you still interested? Here are 2 more pictures. You'll see that I modified the wing so that flap/aileron servos are totally hidden inside and only servo arm is exposed.

Arrrgh! I have a 100% built Patriot XL that I had on RCU markets that noone wanted! It has pneumatic retracts and a OS .91FX already installed. I never flew it because our grass field would beat it up! :P Know anyone else that might want a BRAND NEW patriot XL? I'm in Texas and didn't want to ship it....
