It sounds like a component on the motherboard is causing the problem. Your best bet is to send the transmitter in for service. Tony Ohm Hitec/Multiplex USA

RE: Multiplex EVO
I'm not quite sure what you are trying to do with the throttle, could you elaborate? On the D/R switches, go into the setup menu by pressing the button with the monkey-wrench. Then scroll to assignment and enter the menu. then scroll to switches and enter the menu. The first three lines in this menu are your dual rates. By default, each should have an <L in the second column and a downward pointing arrow in the third. To change them, highlight the DR to change and press enter. You'll see a warning, press enter again. Now, move to the swtich position you want to activate the low rate. Then press enter to save the change. For example, in your case, it sounds like the Aileron DR has a downward pointing arrow and the elevator has one pointing up. Scroll to the elevator DR and press enter twice. Now flip the L switch to the lower position. You will now see an arrow pointing down with an asterix next to it. Press enter to save and test the DR. it should work properly now. RE: Hitec Prism 7
Do you see a screen that says "OFF". This is the screen you need to turn on one the three mixes. If you look at page 9 of the manual, you will see a flow chart of the screens in the intial mode. If this doesn't help, give us a call. Tony Ohm Hitec/Multiplex USA

RE: Royal Evo 12 ... please clarify
When you turn on the radio, the splash screen will say ROYALpro. If it doesn't say this, then the firmware was not updated. It all depends on when you sent it in also. We have only had the firmware update avaliable for a few months.

RE: Multiplex Leaving the US Market?
came across a reference somewhere that the Evo 12, after the V2 update and an aftermarket 2.4ghz conversion, drops to being just a "10 channel" radio. Is that true, or am I just absorbing too much Internet overload?
It all depends on the 2.4GHz system I guess. XPS only offers a 10 channel reciever, so even though the Evo is still 12 channel, your limited to 10.
I have read on RCG that the EVO pro update will prevent XPS from working on the EVO.
Take a look at my previous post in this thread.

RE: Multiplex Leaving the US Market?
The XPS should still work. You have to make sure that you have a jumper between pins two and five on their plug though.

Extremely high. I use a PDA cable to connect the programmer to my PC. The cord just needs a mini-USB connector on one end.

With the HPP-21 and 21+, you connect the programmer to your PC via a USB connector. Then connect the servo and a battery(4.8 to 6V). Tony Ohm Hitec/Multiplex USA

RE: Multiplex Leaving the US Market?
Let me explain this some. Multiplex Germany did not make the decision. Multiplex is huge in the European market. Unfortunately, their radios have just not caught on in the North American market, though not for lack of trying. There is a small hardcore following for this great radio, and it is to them and yourself that I have to apologize for the current decision. We at Hitec/Multiplex USA had to make a financial choice. It is very expensive to get FCC certification. Since the EVO has been sold in only limited numbers in North and South America, at this time it is just not economically feasible to proceed with the certification process. Multiplex has no plans of pulling out of the US market in the near or foreseeable future. So the decision not to import the 2.4GHz modules and receivers may be reversed, just not anytime soon. But all is not lost. Extreme Link offers a module for Royal Evo that is on 2.4GHz. From what I understand, this is a drop in module that requires no modifications. So there is no reason to “retire your radio. Tony Ohm Hitec/Multiplex USA

RE: 2.4 module questions
Alan is correct on all points. I'll just expound on the antenna placement. On larger or carbon planes, all you need to expose out of them is the boosted omni-directional antenna (the metal tip with the short wire exiting). With Balsa or foam planes, you can keep the antenna in the fuselage. Tony Ohm HItec/Multiplex USA

RE: Royal Evo 12 ... please clarify
In the US, we are only offering the firmware upgrade. There are no plans in the near future to import the 2.4Ghz system so the hardware update in not required. If you send the radio in for the firmware upgrade, we'll also go over the radio to make sure it is operating properly. Below is the information on the recall. It looks like the link was deleted. - Product Recall for ROYALevo systems sold in the USA It has come to the attention Multiplex USA that a limited number of radios sold in the US fall within the dates of a recall notice posted by Multiplex Germany. To read the notice please go to the following link: http://www.multiplex-rc.de/cms/vorschau/upload/startseite/rueckrufinfo_080612.pdf The dates affected in the US vary slightly from those found within the notice. Affected units: Royal evo 12 purchased from Feb. 2007 to May 2008 Royal evo 9 purchased from Jan. 2008 to May 2008 Due to the reasons stated in the German recall notice, Multiplex USA urges users that have purchased their radios during the dates specified to send the units to our Customer Service Department. These units will be given priority and as a compensation for shipping costs, a Hitec HS-55 will be sent back with the package. To identify the radios upon arrival, please mark on the package, “Recall ROYALevo and ship them to following address: Multiplex USA Recall ROYALevo 12115 Paine St. Poway, CA 92064 For enquiries please email service@hitecrcd.com Thank you for your understanding in this matter - Tony Ohm Hitec/Multiplex USA

RE: Canadian Evo12
The update offered in the US and Canada is just the firmware. You will still be able to use your old module and scanner. Once the firmware is updated, you will also be able to use the latest Datamanager. In Canada, JN RC electronics is able to provide the firmware update. Here's the contact info: PH: 604-929-7477 email: johnfeld@telus.net Unfortunately, the serial number does not help determine if your radio is part of the recall. The best thing is to check the sticky at the top of this forum and compare your purchase date with those mentioned. Tony Ohm Hitec/Multiplex USA

RE: HS-65HB in Blizzard Tail
If it is CA related, then the programmer wouldn't help even digital servos. What I'm assuming happend was that the fumes from the CA coated part of the potentiometer in the servo. My reasoning for this is proper operation in one direction and fluttering in the other. Again, this is only a guess. Without looking at the servo, I can't be sure.
