ORIGINAL: Ex_Pat_Tanker Secret option B - Swap the middle and final gears in the Tamiya rotation unit. No glue or new parts needed.
The gears are the same ratio off the top of my head so your rotation speed is the same.

Never had any issues with the three I've done like this, Just saves the penny's!
ORIGINAL: Panther F
ORIGINAL: tomhugill Using a bit of CA (superglue) on the slipper clutch will solve all issues!
Yup... gluing the clutch is one way. IF the glue likes the plastic, IF there is no residual oil or grease left around and IF it is glued correctly

RE: Ludwig/ Heng Long king tiger E-100 build
I have a HL/Tamiya hybrid king tiger, mine came smooth so I had to add the zim by hand with miliput, time consuming but a decent finish.

RE: Tamiya leo 2 issues
I think what might be happening is that due to the problem with track tension the tracks are catching on the bodywork which could be causing or contributing to the problems. How does one remove track links from the leo tracks?

Tamiya leo 2 issues
So I finally got a chance to try my Leo on grass. A total disaster. I can't do one track locked turns, my tracks see to only be held on the sprockets by the bodywork which they grind on when I do turns. Argh I though these where meant to be Tamiyas best running tank! I tried using the hi power option and This doesn't seem to help. Any ideas Leo owners?

RE: Stripped allen bolt
I'm going so see if the engine builders next door to my apartment can do anything, Id think they have plenty of experience sorting stripped fixings. Clamping it up could be tricky but probably do able!

RE: Stripped allen bolt
Hi BIGMIG, I think regards getting the sprokets off the shafts I am truly goosed. Im at the drilling out screw phase which I think will require more serious equiptment than I have atm.

RE: Stripped allen bolt
I think Pahs solution is the only one that will work. My allen keys are pretty good quality but by the time they had slipped ones the bolts where pretty knackered. MIG this is a tamiya leopard two so not cheap. It has metal sprockets with seem fairly easily cut off but I want to aviod this at all costs, even if I have to redrill and tap some new holes to hold them on in future.

RE: Stripped allen bolt
Jeff my HSS bit doesnt even scratch it. I ive tried cutting a groove for a slot head screwdriver and I dont think thats going to work, bolts too small and slot is too big. What sorta drill bit am I going to need to get this sucker out?

RE: Stripped allen bolt
Sadly the allen bolt is recessed into the sproket. I bought some HSS titan bits to drill with and theyre basically useless. Im a bit stuck. When I turn the sprockets by hand they more fine till I get to one point and it jams slightly and continues.

Stripped allen bolt
So it seems a gear in my leos tu as stipped I think causing the very jerky running. How ever the fella that built it has used a stupid ammount of locktight on the allen bolts that hold the sprokets on and when I tried to get them off they have stripped so I cant get into the tus. Any ideas on sorting this

Tamiya leo 2
Hey guys just got my Leo 2. I've looked through the manual but I can't find out how to remotely control the lighting. Does anyone know how this feature works? Also my forward and back motion is very jerky amd I cant drive it slowly at all but it pivots very smoothly at low speed and when my TX is off it will periodically begin the start up sounds

RE: Clark electronics TK20
Are you sure about that Craig? I was under the impression the first tk20 has maybach sounds for the panther tiger and king tiger which all share the same engine. I could be mistaken though.

RE: Clark electronics TK20
Tbh though theyre so cheap that the lack of programming sound isn't too bad. Hell you could have 4/5 of these for the cost of an Elmod or Tamiya system! I'm hoping that creative use of altering channels can make the stick mapping more sensible.
