RE: 3W 80 Xi
Updated rpm for the 3W80CS. Xoar 26x12 (5,400 rpm) - Metallica, you might be correct. There must have been an error on the rpm reading on the 28x10 beila prop. seems a little high. Beila 24x14 (5,800). THese two props that were tested were consistent in rpm reaadings throughout the day.

badazzgti03, Hey. If you are not busy this Sat the 23rd come pass by our field at Laurel (Freestate Aeromodelers). We will be having an Airplane of the World event. Lots of people from all over the area. I will bring my AT-6, PT-17, 1/5 Corsair, and P-51. Tom Treese, this is for you as well if you're around the area (I know you're almost 4 hrs away.) Ton2di

+1 again. Even some 120-125FS (Saito and OS) would not compare to a dle20 in terms of speed. Tested in a .60 size warbird.

R/C Foolish, The H-9 P51 is heavy when assembled based on the reported weight here compared to the TF P-51... maybe part of the reason why it tip stalled on take off. Besides, a lot of people are complaining about how violently it snaps on turns. So if you really like P-51's then this TF 60 is great for you. Lots of happy owners here!!! Tony

Thanks for the reply. I am actually having a hard time buying these servos because they are all out of stock at the moment. I managed to get 2 from e-bay sellers. I was looking to buy some hitec 5645, but will instead get these as soon as they are available.

Anybody has this servo yet? It's only $39.99 at tower and it is the HV version with metal gears. The torque is not so bad either. According to Servo city, it's coreless too.

RE: Top Flite '.60 size' P-51D Mustang ARF: Building & Modifications
Kelly, RBean is correct. The 16x8 is a good prop for the DLE 20.... but, if you want more speed then you would want to get an APC 15x10. A club member has it in his 60 size P-51 and it is so fast (around 8,300 rpms-ground). Tony

RE: Prop unloading.
Guys. Lots of great info here. The OP is just asking how many rpms would a 160FX engine turn more in the air given that it turns 8,200 ground rpms - currently with a 18x6 prop (a question that I asked before as well). I think that he got his answer... 1000 rpm +/-. So OP, you are in the good rpm range for your engine. (I have this engine as well, but will use an apc 17x12 or 16x14 for speed for my P-51)

RE: Top Flite AT6 ARF
I am sorry to hear your loss. Yes, it was too windy last Sunday. I made three flights on my AT-6. The final landing was one of my worse because of the wind gust. Perfect approach then suddenly it lurches up or down because of the wind. Well, no better way to improve our flying skills.. That 60 size P-51 is a fun plane too. Just tends to nose over especially on thick grass compared to the AT-6, which likes to bounce. Tom, that event sounds exciting. I will try to encourage other flyers from our field to storm your field!

Dave, I have a Brison 3.2 installed in a Top Flite Giant P-51 swinging an apc 20x12 (around 7,200 rpms). Keeps up with the G62 powered (22x10) P-51's/P-47's. ton2di

RE: Top Flite '.60 size' P-51D Mustang ARF: Building & Modifications
Tom, Try to fly it first with the stock retracts. Mine held up well even when putting an OS 200FS. It all depends upon your landing skills. With the robart struts, it should help with the occasional bumps when taxiing and landing. The OS 95V should be a perfect match. Try it with an APC 14x8 and it's going to zip through the sky. Ton2di

RE: Top Flite AT6 ARF
The OS 61FX is the minimum engine for the AT-6. It might not be a very good option though because you're going to be using a smaller prop, i.e 12x8 to 13x6. Like jet posted, the OS 91FS will be perfect. It will swing a 14x7-8 prop with no problem. The plane balances great with this engine also. Over 150 flights on mine and still going strong.

I am aware of the power difference between the OS 120FSIII and the OS120AX - which is a more powerful engine. I was referring to the OP's concern regarding landing speed!!! Same prop pitch of 12 and rpm range during landings.

Go ahead and use that 14x12 prop. I have successfully used an apc 14x12N on a TF P-51 60 size (65" wingspan) using an OS 120FSIII. You can land just above idle and still have a good rollout!!!
