RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence
Has anyone intalled a Spektrum telemetry RPM sensor on there Moki if so how and where did you place it. I thought it was a motion sensor like a hand held tach and would install it in the cowl facing the prop but it has a magnet and instructions say to install at the back of the crankcase. Just not shure where the best location would be on a moki. Thanks

Thank's Jason for quick reply. I find pump is quite loud is this normal? and this may sound dumb but if the pump stops running for what ever reason in the air will the engine stop running or will the carb be able to pump enough gas to keep it running. Tony

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence
You are absolutly right about killing low frequencies I have a DLE 111 on a Nosen P-47 WITH 12" long 1" diameter flex tube and the sound changed to a higher metalic pitchy sound if that makes any sence. In other words the sound from the stock mufflers sounded a lot thicker and low tone to it. I will try running the engine with and with out the flex pipes and compare both results.

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence
Hi all Scott thank you for starting this great source of information and to all who have contributed. I am on final stage of detailing and painting my Don Smith P-47. It's been a couple of yearson and off . I am using a moki 215 yah would of prefered a 250 but this is what I have. The plane will come out at 63lbs. I would like to know if the 13" long 3/4" flex tube will cause any exhaust ristriction or maybe it would help in going up to 1" Thank's Tony

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence
Thank you very much for the quick reply Scott and for starting this thread. It came right off just like you suggested.I have learned so much from everyone's experiences thank you all. I have a two blade solo prop that I just tried running and with it dialed at 14 pitch (so I think) I am only getting 3800rpm and was getting 5300rpm with a Zoar 32-10. I find that when I dial down to home it does not stop at once but will sort of tighten to a stop but at the highest setting (24 pitch it stops at once when it reaches max rotation. So if I start to rotate and count the units from home (1 on the dial) to 10 3/4 I should be at a pitch of 14 yet I am only seeing rpm's of 3750 was hopeing to see 4200 -4300rpm. Is there any way for me to get a true point of referance of pitch with this prop and go from there. I may just set the rotation to get a rpm of 4000 to 4300 and leave it at that but would be nice to know at what pitch I am dialed in at. Thank you

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence
Hi to all . I have been following with great interest. First time posting.I have a Moki 215 sitting arround for three years now, had some issues the first time I ran it . It would horibly misfire at all rpm's sent it at the time to RCS and they changed the ignition . Mine is one of those that like the 4.8v and NOT the 6.0v Runs fine now and you just can't beat that sound. Scott I am glad to know that your Meister flys well at 50lbs I was conserned not having enough power for my 1/4 scale with the 215 .I am building the Don Smith p-47 it is at the glass stage right now half on primer. I have assembled everything I could think of from engine - retracts-wheels -servos ect. and come to 50lbs. Now I am hopeing that with the cockpit -pilot and a few scale items and paint it will not add more than 10lbs witch would keep the plane at 60lbs or less.I am bench running my 215 with Xoar 32 x 10 and with factory settings it will run up and over 5500 rpm. I am carefull not to over rev the engine. I am looking for a two bladed prop for it's maiden any suggeston ? I have included a pic of the DS P-47 That is my meisters in the background. Tony

RE: G62 carb question
Any one try cutting the insolator in half? I might try that if that does not work I will give it a try with a piece of G10 and again run the engine. Last resort I will have to settle on the EasyLink carb adapter which is not a wide as the OEM.

RE: Eletronic engine syncronizer **SUPPORT **
Hi got your PM and tried to call but I guess you were not around. I tried to reset the unit again . The result is when the yellow light turns on the servos are throttling up and down on there own but when I move the throttle stick passed Half throttle thats when she starts to sing and all the way up to full throttle with perfect sync. So the problem is from idle to half throttle I have almost no control of throttle until I manage to get to half throttle and higher. Thank's Tony.

I just installed a twinsync in a Z P-38 and did some engine runs idle is ok but when I throttle up and the yellow led comes on my right engine dies and the left comes to idle just like it should but every time I throttle up the engine dies as soon as the yellow led lights up. Can anyone shed some light on this and give me some advice as to what is going on, I have followed the instruction step by step everything seems ok untill again I thottle up to the point that the yellow led lights up.

RE: RCS 215 RADIAL HELP WANTED
I have found the problem the wire that comes from the front of the engine case and plugs into the ignition is faulty. Could be the connector or the pins in the ingnition that interupt the signal. I have left a message at RCS and waiting for them to call me back. This engine is still under warranty so I imagine it will be covered.Thank's to all for your help.
