RE: Team Associated RC18T2, RC18B2 Thread
hey guys, i pulled the trigger on one of these. i have been having an issue with the steering. im running an hs-55 with a mini-t servo saver. it likes to pull right and left occasionally during high speed runs. there is no binding and most of the slop in the steering has been fixed. i have tried other rx's and repositioning electronics with no luck. has anyone else had any issues like this? i love my b2 but its got me stumped on this one[&:]. any insight or thoughts would be great. thanks

RE: @THE OFFICIAL LOSI STRIKE THREAD @
i have been thinking about getting the strike for a sct. it looks good to me.i like some of the features on it. i know about the dogbone issues. other then that nothing really. what exactly needs to be upgraded for it to stand up to brushless power.i dont mind something that needs some modding, i just am not looking for something that requires me to replace the same part every ten runs or what not to keep it going. also after the upgrades how well would it hold up. i know this depends on the driver, but in general. what im trying to get to is. would it be worth it after the upgrades or would i be better off spending a bit more cash on a different sct. thanks for any or all replies.

RE: Which brushless to drop in?
i run an ezrun setup on my minis, had them both for a while i own the 18a esc with the 5200kv for both. im very happy with them. i was a little sketchy at first cause of the price(50$), but im very pleased with the performance of them. my tamtech goes a good 50mph and my mini t is a tad slower running the same set up. i've read of people burning the motors up in them, just trial and error. check your temps when playing with gearing. keep in mind mine are 2wd running a tad warm temp wise. the motor is slightly smaller then a 380 can. you can also get a different motor for it to. toadtoys(ebay) sells bl motors bigger then the ezrun with amperage ratings for a good price that would work with the ezrun. they come with a programing card to change many settings on it. not as much as mamba though. up to you though. good luck in your choice.

RE: Mini T...Mini Desert .......?
note to add the desert truck also has a slightly longer wb. it can be driven alot harder and easier to control. and handle rough terrain much better.i do not own the min dt but i have a mini t, i also own a tamiya desert gater that is a little closer to the desert truck in length. both are really fun.both are brushless running 3cells. with the tamiya i can drive it ALOT harder with much more control. not saying get the desert gator. if i were you i would get the losi mini dt. either one would be fun. worst case you could buy the chassis plate, shock towers( i believe)and body for the shock towers. to make up for the mix up. i also think that they come with every thing to run( both models)not sure on that. got my mini t as a roller. hope a little more info to add helps

okay, thanks i wasn't sure if i was missing anything. i got it in the mail today. i threw my electronics in it. fun little truck. still playing with the gearing in it. first attempt was 16/60 then 15/60. wheely machine, temps for the motor are 95-98 and esc is around 110-120. im gonna have to look on the thread and see what others are running for gearing. thanks again greatly appreciated.

mini t brushless questions
hello everyone, i picked up a mini t finally to add to my collection. been looking for a good roller. found it on ebay. anyways what im looking to know is what exactly do i need to beef it up to handle brushless power. im going to be running a 3 cell with a 5200kv sooner or later maybe a 6200kv. i've searched a bit on here. so far what i have come up with is a good mip diff. and maybe upgrading the slipper. is there anything else i would need. also i read about mip cvd's. i havent seen these, thats all ive seen is the losi ones and from what ive read there not worth getting. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks for your time and any input

RE: brushless questions
okay thanks for the help. i saw the airplane ones on the net and was wondering if it would be worth it. i got the ezrun for my mini and it worked wel, im not looking for insane speeds and whatnot. i just want bl because of the advantages of it(not into rebuilding motors after every ten to thirty runs). i was leaning toward the hobbywing 35a 4370kv combo. i just bash really. it will also be going into a losi dt. looking for more top end then currently offered by the stock system.maybe if i was going to race it id go all out on it. thanks for all you input. you've helped me make up my mind.

brushless questions
hello every one, i have a few questions. i have been digging around on the net. searching for a cheap brushless system. well i found some bl airplane esc's. they have a brake. no reverse. dont care about that. then i have found an ezrun bl 9t motor 4370kv that i would like to use. i was looking into like 80-100a airplane esc. i see that the burst for them is ten more amps. the kit that you can get with the 4370kv has a 35 amp esc. burst is 190 i think. will airplane esc's with brake work? its going into a 1/10 vehicle if this helps. thanks for reading and any input.

RE: gb-01 gearing questions
its a tamiya tamtech desert gator. im new to brushless. its just a cheapy. hobbywing18a with the 5200kv. i put the system in it when it was cold. just as winter was ending. so it was alot cooler outside. im in the works of converting all my electrics over. this was the first one to be updated.since it was so slow. so anything over 160 to hot for motor. does that apply for the esc to? i didnt pay to much for the system.but would still hate to kill it. it has tons of power. doesnt seem like its being worked hard at all. im just not sure of what temps i should be looking for from the esc and motor.thanks for your help.

external battery source for servos help
hello, i have a couple questions. i have a pti goliath, i have done quite a bit to it. what my question is that im going 4ws on it hopefully. im concerned about overloading the esc. bec on its 6v at 1amp. it cuts out when out of trim with one so i know ill kill my esc with 2. what i would like to do is run an external battery source for the servos, or could i tap into my pack. i read some where that if you cut the red wire from the esc this setup will work. does this sound right. thanks for your time

RE: Losi Micro Brushless Cutting Out
i know this isnt new but my friends does the same thing. nothing stopping the wheels. if this is right. im almost thinking that it coud be his case. its metal and we had to shim the dif up,because they took to much out. but its too tight so its like locked. didnt occur to me til i read this. but do you think this could be the issue. atl first i was thinking it was his battery. hes ruunnin the 2 cell 180mah. hes had it fir a while. it didnt happen til he put the bl setup in it.

battery selection questions
hello, i recently picked up a brushless setup for my tamtech . what im wondering is what numbers do i have to crunch to figure out what batteries will work for my setup. im runnin a 5200kv with an 18a cont. 50a max. im currently running a 7.4 740mah lipo, maybe a 10c. when running at full speed it will cut out. i know its the bat cause you can get one maybe two full speed runs with it without cutting out. ive been looking at batteries 1400 cells , and lipos.im thinking running 7 or 8 cell nihms or a small 11.1 lipo. the problem with this is that im limited on battery space( GB-01). any thoughts would be great. thanks for your time

okay, so i have some news. well ive come to the conclusion that i think my charger false peaked the pack i used. so that explained my slow acceleration. i tossed in one of my 2400 6 cell and that thing actually impressed me, im used to nitro power. cant wait to see it go on some better batteries. im happier now. i can deal with fixing the leaky shocks, loud tranny and short range. RE: losi desert truck
yeah. i like the truck alot to. i planned on getting a dif motor for it before i bought it, but that was before i realized how awsome(lol) the esc is. i got it from my local hobby shop. which he got from horizon. when i first tested it in the house the tranny was louder. i checked the mesh and it was to tight. i fixed that problem but its not as loud. it wasnt the slowness of it that didnt impress me. it just didnt have any punch to it if you pegged it. i would say that it picks up speed slowly. ( this maybe due to gearing) as for the shocks, nice and plush, love the ride. but they shouldnt be leaking after such little time. 1 leaks bad, and the other 3 are also leaking.ill talk to my hs and see what he thinks. i can fix the shocks on it myself. these shocks are a bit different then what im used to but ill get it. ill have to pick up some oil for the shocks. first thing im gonna do is change the esc and motor on it. i just have to figure out what i want for a setup.thanks for the input.

losi desert truck
hey every one, not sure if this is the best place to post this, but ill give it a shot. i picked up my losi dt yesterday. tested it today after work. very disapointed*. i though it would be a good choice. the esc is ok in it. no punch from the start. i know its over geared for its intended use. no biggie here. the other about the esc is that i dont care for its setup.the forward brake and reverse, plus it cant handle 7 cell or lipo(running 3800 6 cell).i knew it wasnt a speed demon from the start. ive only got 8 to 10 minutes on it if that. and the shocks are leaking bad. also i think the tranny is quite loud in it. im sure ill find more to complain about. i know 230 isnt much these days. but i personally think all your really paying for is the radio system in it and the name, which reminds me not very good range. its gonna cost alot more then i expected to get it up to snuff. is there a way to fix the leaky shocks on these or should i toss em and get better ones? also whats a good reasonable priced setup for the dt esc and motor wise(brushed and brushless)? the last question is, what do you dt owners think about it? i like the truck very much, but very dissapointed in losi. any help, info or suggestions would be great. thanks for reading

i also had a tornado epx. it was fine til i put higher output battery on it to. 3800 for me.just changing the battery. same thing happened. the fan melted off it. then the motor went up in smoke.id say that i ran about 6 to 8 runs before it died.after i upgraded the motor. staying with in turn limits and ten minutes later running it the esc crapped out. ive used the same batteries in others with stock parts and they took it. i ended up upgrading to a bb. had tons of spare parts though, whitch is a good thing. still no fun breakin down though.

take a q tip. cut the swab of it. remove your exhaust. insert q tip through exhaust. turn piston over. it will push up the sleeve. and you will be good to go, make sure you dont use something to hard that will damage the motor.
