For 77 Cents!!!
Brothers, I found a free program called WAX 2.0. It is a video editing program that is very powerful and just right for us to use with our tanks. Now your Panther can purr on the Steppe, your Tiger in the Desert can lay in ambush, heck you can even have your tank on the moon if you so desire. This program allows you to do greenscreen work on any PC. The "screen" is green posterboard from Walmart for 77 Cents! I took a picture of my little 1/72 rc Tiger, on the "screen" then I found an image on the net of a wintery Russian Village. Using the Wax program I uploaded the two images into the time line. A tutroial on the entire operation in here be sure to look at both parts! The image below is by no means the finished product. With the program you can do just about anything to the image. Harley I think the Camo on the HL is okay. However short of repainting here is what I would do. I would wash a series of washes, to bring the detail out. Follow that with some dry brushing. Finally I would airbrush some filters until it all blended a bit better. A bit of weathering and you should have a nice looking KT! Hope that helps! Don

RE: SLU Help!
Hey Dan, It is the micro switch that controls the start stop that is the issue. For some reason it just will not work with the SLU. I think the SLU provides the on on/off timer circuit. It does not provide a pulse. I say that becasue on the SLU there is a POT to adjust the recoil speed. Since the Asiatam uses the microswitch to start and stop I don't think it can work. I sure wish there were a way around it.However I will tinker with the guts of a $50 recoil unit, but not so inclined to go digging into the SLU...LOL DOn

Guys bad news. I have installed 4 SLU and the AsiaTam recoil just will not work. I've tried everything, and I mean everything. Unless I missed something. (Very Possible) You have to use the HENG LONG recoil. I hope that someone can prove me wrong, and I hope I missed something. Those recoils are too good not be usable with the SLU. Please if anyone finds the correct wiring post ASAP. I have two useless recoils now, unless we can figure this bugger out. Don

Crystal problems are sometimes hard to tell apart from battery problems. Just try to reseat your crystal and see what you have. If you have a multi-meter check the voltage on the battery just to be sure. Also see if you can smell any hint of burning. You might have snagged something just enough to blow part of the RX-18. Just about everyone has blown a circuit on these things. If all that fails you need to take the tracks off by removing a pin and then remove the three screws in the body and the four in the pannier and take the hull apart and see what the status of the wiring is. Making the mantel go the right way is simple. I know there is a picture tutorial on here somewhere. Basically you have to remove the turret and the gun system. Rotate the mantle then redrill screw mounting holes. Let me see if i can dig it up. Don

Crunchy, Hang on! Check the cyrstal in the rx. Make sure it is in tight. Sounds to me like you lost radio signal. Remember the flashing light on the HL are also a diagnoistic tool. Slow Flash=Battery Rapid Flash=Radio. Hope that helps!! Don
