RE: What is the fastest tunnel hull?
Sign up for an account over on intlwaters.com one of the best spots for tunnel info, there are a bunch of tunnel hulls on the market and I believe some of those really good hulls are mainly sold and marketed through intlwaters and by word of mouth with no other website store or store front to purchase them from

RE: Prop Strut
Any of those set-ups above are going to do basically the same thing, give you an adjustable prop angle and height which is a must to get the most out of a boat and cheap replaceable wear parts (the bushing) also gong with a standard flexshaft your not limited to one brand you could even use a miss vegas stock replacement shaft and cut it to length in a pinch. You do need to either extend the stock stuffing tube so it will reach a new drive or replace the tube completely <-gets my vote- the bracket that bolts up to the bottom does a nice job of filling the stock recess.. One thing about R/C boats is parts are limited and parts suppliers/builders come and go there is no set-in-stone suppliers in this end of the hobby, just ones that have managed to stick around longer than others ;)

RE: Prop Strut
the bottom mounted strut bracket was originally a part from TLR (out of business) that one may have been theirs or a home done job but the strut looks familiar. Yes going to any of those struts you get to change your flexshaft to a regular style, (3/16 drop to 1/8 for 1/8 bore props is most common), I can sell you a complete shaft with bushing drive-dog lock-nut but you would need to cut it to length, if I get time in the next day or so Ill look through the TLR blue print's and see if I can find that bracket or see if I have one around here I just might..

RE: Fuel
I ran 12/40 and 12/50 for years and never blew an engine (due to fuel) Ive run everything from O'Donnell to redmax and some cheap blue crap that was on the shelf at the hobby shop, I was in need lol I mainly used 12/40(12 oil-40 nitro) as it was a good performing fuel with less wear and easier tuning than the higher nitro fuels This kind of goes with what Adam said, There is NO fuel that will protect your engine from poor tuning

RE: Prop Strut
As far as I know the only replacement is to just buy a new strut, the boat actually benefits from modding it to fit a standard strut they are adjustable and use a replaceable brass bushing and normal flexshaft

RE: AquaCraft U-18 Miss Vegas Hydro Thread_Make it Fast!
No that water is not to choppy at all (at least whats in your video) and you adjusted your turn fin and it didnt fix it-Next lol you have the right idea on the strut, I would suggest you mark your strut where it is right now so you can get back to that point, these little boats react to the finest adjustments especially the faster you make them go, Id also say your correct that the wake from the last lap is whats tripping you up on the second lap so something in your ride is too loose you might try removing a little angle from your strut setting I wouldnt put the wing back on, you keep stuffing it and it will come back off anyway lol

RE: AquaCraft U-18 Miss Vegas Hydro Thread_Make it Fast!
Personally I do not like fins with the curve at the bottom-one reason is they are more sensitive to adjustments, I make my own fins and put the bend at the top(just under the bracket), I mount the bracket 90* off the build board and mount up the fin to that which will give you your 5* tuck (good bench setting) with that said are you accounting for the bottom bend in that 5* your setting it at? a fin can slow you down, suck you under, and trip you up, play with it a little at a time and see what happens , just my 2 cents

RE: .12 Rigger Kits for CHEAP!
small .12 size riggers if your building them a lot go very fast, I built a bunch of electric riggers few years back (same size as the .12's) and could bust one out in about 3 days from plans and raw material to smooth 3 coat epoxy seal- drop that to 2 days if you dont seal, of course you plan on making a few you have building jigs set-up and things out and ready which helps speed things up. the JAE KIT which ive also built actually takes longer to build than the firefighter and electric equivalents built from plans

RE: Novarossi 46 is HERE!
The nova CMB A/A are all race engines (nova being the cheapest of the 3) so when comparing them to gas engines you might want to compare to the $500+ modified zens as in racing (at least here in the USA) your wasting time and money trying to run a stock engine in any class other than thunderboat

RE: best bang for buck on rtr
I did have before my main computer crashed and I havent been able to find the disk they were on, print them out, tape them up, run that copy to the print shop and get a solid copy made, for a little bit of extra cash they will put the plans on disk for you in a PDF file. If you do that you want to make sure when you tape them up to have the sheets lay down like fish scales, they feed your plans into the machine and you dont want one going the wrong way on either side if you do be sure to tape that section well- reason I used fish scales as an example is if you rub a fish from head to tail your going with the scales and your hand glides smooth, go the other direction and the scale will catch on your hand and lift up, same thing for the paper except if its going through the machine it lifts up and tears the crap out of your plans.. Hope that helps a bit Ill look through my disks again and see if I can find them this week, dont hold your breath though

RE: Exhaust Pressure Fittings
This is a macs 7.5 cut down but fitting should be in the same place for yours UNLESS its a muffled pipe, if muffled (like a cooper or macs muffled) you would drill just before the center or just before the weld so you dont get into the muffling chamber fuel tank, pressure the first tank- feed off the second

RE: .12 Rigger Kits for CHEAP!
remember andy, 7/32 is the same size as 3/16 bushing tubes, if you use the smaller tube youll want to solder a short 1/4 tube to the end of it to accept the bushing (also the zippkits strut and many others youll find use a hole for the larger stuffing tubes) found a picture of one Ive done, I like doing this on boats as I can use a 1/4 stuffing box glassed into the boat instead of glassing the stuffing tube in(also depends on what im building if I do this)

RE: new to boats
at the price your looking at you will be EXTREMELY lucky to find a good used 21 size hydro that isnt a POS, the vegas deuce is a great starter boat and is decent in speed, you can always mod the boat later and gain more speed, thats your best bet in nitro. A decent used 21 hydro ready to run (usually less radio) will run 350 on the low end on up, and being new to boats buying someone elses handy work may not be the best thing, just my advice

RE: best bang for buck on rtr
if you ever plan to race the boat here in the states that .25 will have to come out, your best bet for a good running mono on a budget and will have 100% better quality is build a wildthing mono, not to hard to build, run awesome and there are a couple build threads here on RCU dedicated to the wildthing, lots of guys here to help with advice if you need it to, it can be built cheaper than the off the shelf boats to, the RTR boats have cheap electronics so there is an upgrade, poor glass work so there is some elbow grease ( have never seen an RTR with a straight sharp bottom and Ive seen TONS) and other little fixes that need done like stated above fuel tank and radio box go to my site and download the FREE PDF plans of the wildthing and have the copy shop (office max does mine for about 5$) size them to what ever size you want http://www.aircapitolhobbies.com/Plans_and_Info.html

RE: Finally! My Dumas Hawk 3.5 outrigger. Finishing after 2 yrs off
Yes Dasboata still does props, hes over on jims rc boat dock most all the time also has a website www.dasboata.com That old school Octura mount even though very nice is way to heavy BUT good, ill explainthe K&B has a weak case the octura mount supports the engine, cradles it so to say as its a 1 piece mount, a speedmaster style mount which is what is most common does not support the case two piece (actually more pieces but you get the idea lol) pull it out and lighten it up a bit (trim some drill holes etc what ever works for you) Im a fan of solid mounts they have up and down sides to them just like the rubber mounts, Also dont count K&B engines out just cause they are old school the hottest 21 nitro engine I have ever run was a modified K&B (even faster than a CMB I used to own) just didnt live as long ;)

RE: go .18 parts
I dont believe the back plate off of an OS engine will fit the GO 18 case, the holes line up but the center part that goes into the block is to big for the GO engine case by a little, adam or rob was where my last solid GO back plate went I know fact the TZ solid plate will not fit and I believe the other solid plate I have here is off of a CVRM and it also dont fit Also might add from talking to adam who has modded the GO to its limit that leaving the pull start on the motor is better than running with-out, I could explain it all but if adam sees the post he can give you first hand info on it

RE: Rudder bracket length
depends where your props trailing edge ends up at, if your strut is mounted on the back of the transom or under boat the rudders leading edge should be from the center of your prop to the trailing edge of your prop, or close to that
