RE: ULTRA FLASH SADDLE TANK/BYPASS QUESTION?
I have saddles in mine. A little bit of work to get them to fit easily but nothing major. I had to grind off some of the flanges and reinforce the seams of the saddles with f/g cloth. A couple hours work and thats all. You do need to shorten the wing hold down bolts...they will puncture the saddles if left the original length.

RE: CARF F4U-1 Corsair build thread
Thanks, I'm on the right track with 8711s everywhere and Jr powersafe.rx. I will use matchboxes on flaps. Elev will be split for redunancy with 8711s on both sides. D&L conv ersion on gear. Plug in wings. A123s for power everywhere. If I can swing a Moki 250 I will, if not a DA 120.

RE: CARF F4U-1 Corsair build thread
Just picked up one of these. Studying the instructions and developing my game plan. What servos are being used? Im thinking JR 8711s on everything. JR powersafe RX receiver. Planning on minimal scale upgrades to try to keep it as light as possiblee. Comments? Recommendations?

RE: Are there constant load servos for flaps?
Get a Hangar 9 amp/volt meter. Set your flaps up with this attached and you can make all adjustments with an actual idea of the loads. You will see any binding with high amp loads. I use it on every servo to ensure minimun load on the serve. Digi servos can pull high loads and cook real easily when in a bind.

RE: P-40 Brotherhood (All P-40's Welcome)
Here is mine. Yellow Aircraft with ZDZ 60. I bought it from a guy on RCU RTF. It's my first warbird. I placed a JR gyro on the rudder and tailwheel steering to help with turn coordination and takeoffs. Still trying to get it proped to my liking. Fist prop was a Beila 20x10 (in pic). Flew ok. The latest one is a Beila 20x10 scale. Looks better but doesnt quite have the performance of the other. I just got a new TBM adjustable and plan on fitting it today. Its a nice looking prop but the pitch guides are not accurate. Each blade has different pitch. There is thread that tells how to make a pitch guage and that is my job for today. Get the prop drilled and pitch set (20x12) and give it a try this weekend.

Havent seen one in many years. Had a bad flutter problem with the big elevons and low power servos of its time. Vould be modified to make a nice jet.

Sold a jet to a guy who now lives at Ft Riley KS. He contacted me last night and needs help getting his waiver signed off. If anyone around that area can let help, let me know and I'll get the two of you together so we can have another qualified jet pilot. Thanks!

RE: Hawker Hunter 1/6th scale ARF from Flying Legends
Good job Sean With the heavy metal jets you need to remember the $10000 question. If you are on final with the throttle at idle the biq "Q" is ......WHY! At idle with the nose down uou will never get it slowed down to land. With the nose in the landing attitude you are flying to the scene of the crash. Do nt ask me how I know these things. :) Nice jet!

Analog vs. digital
OK guys. I purchased a BVM T-33 kit from another modeler. He had ALL the JR servos required to fly the jet as recommended by BVM at the time he purchased it....all analog. Should I use them or buy new digital ones. I will be using a Spektrum 12ch power safe RX along with my trusty JR 12X. It will be a big investment to turn around replace them all with digital JRs. Comments?

Thanks to RCpilotf78 and flingwinger for the info. I think it will be a great combination. How about some pix of the Evo in the T6 just to get me motivated. Cant wait to see video of this combination. flingwinger....what are you doing about fuel for the Evo. The formula i rather different from anything I can find premixed.

RE: Y/A F-22 Rudder Flutter
I had flutter on mine early on. The cause was poor setup of epoxy that held the horn. The horn pulled out and the rudder came off. Luckily I didnt lose jet. I replaced both horns with cf horns. Added bigger hinges and used ply to beef up the rudder hinge posts. No further problems and it still flies well. If I do anotber I will use cf horns on entire jet. Good job Shaun on letting all know of a potential problem!

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video
The UF is an amazing airplane. I crashed no.1 from stupidity the quickly replaced it. I used the trays and linkages from no.1 in no.2. Everything dropped in perfectly..even the linkage was perfect. Didnt even have to adjust the length on anything to get perfect flight control alignment.

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video
I have had flawless performance from my Spektrum receivers in several airplanes over the last few years. The secret to success is the power source. I have 3 12 channel power safe rx's running on 2 A123 batteries. One of the jets has 10 servos, all 8711 size. I have run 2 jets with 9 channel rx's using only one battery pack but on those jets I ran heavy duty battery leads to a switch that had 2 power lines to the rx. The normal JR connector is rated for about 5 amps and using 2 leads gives me 10 amps to the rx. Both jets were relatively simple setups. Spektrum works well if you power it correctly. My TX is a JRJ 12X. Feed your Spektrum Rxs well and you will have no problems.

RE: T-33 Gyro
Sorry, no pix or build thread. Bought it as it sits over a year ago. Been busy with other projects . Hope to start on it soon. I did build one many years ago as one of bv's early df versions. Straight forward build as all bv kits are. You will enjoy building it.

RE: T-33 Gyro
I would do only rudder. Any yaw induced roll will be corrected and if properly set up will help with the nose wheel steering. Acts like a yaw damper on real jets. FWIW the real T33 had nothing automatic,,but I still loved flying them. I have a BV T33 about 3/4 finished. Will complete it when I get my Flash flying.
