RE: Great Planes Edge 540T
How would this fly with a TP 3300 4cell V2 battery? Would this or a Fullymax 3700mah 4cell be too big?

RE: Nitroplanes Seawind
Hey man, I'm sooo sorry you experienced all those extreme highs and lows in such a short space of time. I was so impressed by the speed of which you built your plane. I know you wife must be distrissed too - the Seawind was a beautiful and impressive gift from her. I also have a Nitro seawind - which I haven't flown yet. I haven't heard about anyone's vertical stabalizer failing like that. I use a Master Airscrew 11x7 3-Blade G/F Nylon Propeller. What size prop were you using? What engine? Cheer up - you still have the love and comfort of your wife - and the best gift of Christmas is free - the comforting and redeeming love of Christ. Have a blessed Christmas. I hope you can salvage the components for your next build seems like you're a tremendous builder.

RE: E-Flite Mini Pulse XT Owner's Club
Thanks flip - the price of that rimfire has gone up to $65. The most cost effective Rimfire in the 35 diameter range seems to be the Rimfire 35-36-1500 at $60. What do you all think. The number reflect diameter, length, the KV rating. It weights in at 3.6oz vs 2.5 oz for the one you have (35-36-1500). I already have an 80am esc. I want to upgrade because my gear box for my inrunner keeps falling apart - the shaft bends very easily. Thanks.

RE: E-Flite Mini Pulse XT Owner's Club
I've been enjoying my Mini-pusle xt with a venom inrunner VEN-1361 V20L 3980kv that came with a foamy P51 (GWS P51 equivalent). I want to move up to a Rimfire 28-30-1450 Out-Runner Brushless. Does anyone know if there are any issues with mounting this the the mounting brackets the e-flite provides or mounting a rimfire bracket to the predrilled holes? Has anyone tried this. I also heard that the Rimfire is more powerful than the 480BL - and it uses a 25 amp esc. Is this true?

RE: Nitroplanes Seawind
Thanks Michamus and Jim (for your legitimate concerns) I stated in an earlier post that I had hooked up with a local hobby shop and would seek out a trainer after going through FSone for awhile. I've seen some flyers employing videocams on vert/horiz servos and flying with goggles from the video feed. Nice!! That's now my goal - that would seem to make it a lot easier for me. Anyone trying that? I've decided that I'll also get a park flyer for more freedom of places to fly. I bought a Magnum .91 four stroke to replace the Supertiger .91 on the Nitroplane. I was trying to get the building of the plane supervised through the hobby shop but the haven't been able to produce one yet. The major problem I have with building the Nitroplane is that there are no predrilled holes for the engine or wings the GP version has them and I thought NP had them also. Does anyone have tips of info of how they went about drilling these holes accurately? Thanks - I think if I could overcome that hurdle then I have the joy and challenge of building it myself.

RE: seawind
I've since bought the Seawind. How and where do your get replacement parts for this bird? First off I'd like another canopy - as the shipped canopy is very fragile. Thanks.

RE: Nitroplanes Seawind
Hey JRF You're assuming quite a lot - mostly negative too. I'm not planning on flying illegally or irresponsibly. I do want to explore all the possibilities and the freedom of flying off water bodies. Every sport does even better when they have good ambassadors. If I'm misinterpreting then please come again.

RE: Nitroplanes Seawind
Thanks CKS You can e-mail me at truevine77@hotmail.com - I'd love to see a Bermie seawind. It would have been nice for you to post it and show off your piece of paradise. I changed my engine to a Magnum 4 stroke .91 - I was convinced that it was smoother and more quiet. Hey JRF You discerned correctly - I'm a newbie. And I jumped with two feet in waters above my head - seduced by the Seawind. I'm going to have my Seawind constructions supervised by a local hobbyshop. Me and my wife are being seduced into buying a used full scale Seawind in a year or so. That propelled me towards this irrational purchase. I'll try to get some practice first from FSone then hire a trainer. In the meantime I'll hang my Seawind up for inspiration. Those are the reasons for all the questions.

RE: Nitroplanes Seawind
CKS - you're being very nice CT cannot compare to the pristine beauty of Bermuda - you're gonna make me pine away for Belize - that's where I was born and raised. Eventually and hopefully soon - I'll be flying and Caye hopping of the reefs. Now let me trip and imagine that in a full scale Seawind[8D] Can you post of a pic of your Seawind? Thanks

RE: Nitroplanes Seawind
I'm in CT and I'm planning to fly off the many harbors, marinas and inlets that we have from New Haven to Stamford. I'll join a club for all the benefits that come with that - but I'd also like the freedom to just fly off the calmer inlets and harbors. I'm already wondering if the engine & quite muffler are going to be quiet enough or if I'll have to go the much more expensive route of going electric. (I didn't because of the volatility of the more advanced batteries - not to mention the added expense). If however thats the price to pay for that freedom to fly then I'd do it - just second-guessing myself now.

RE: Nitroplanes Seawind
Thanks CKS & JRF and anyone else that answers. I also plan on flying off salt water. How do you seal the cockpit from water infiltration and still have access to remove wings. By the way, I ordered a ST .90 with the quiet muffler - does that attenuate the vibrations? I've read a review that says it cuts the power a bit. I'm concerned about noise - that's why I was asking about the 4 stroke. I have the chance to pick up a used one cheap. Thanks for being patient with all the newbie questions.

RE: Great Planes Seawind
Hi guys I've bought a Nitro Plane Seawind. In your opinion (or expertise) what would be better to fly the Seawind - Supertiger .90 2 stroke or 4 stroke and why? Which plane has better water take offs and landing performance? The Nitro is listed at 9 - 10 lbs flying weight - is this achievable? Thanks for putting up with a newbie.

RE: Nitroplanes Seawind
Thanks for your responses. Is the manual illustrated and clear on the instructions for building? Is it true that you cannot get parts for this plane? I've ordered mine then I came across this forum and noticed that initially some were mentioning these issues. I've ordered the Supertigre G90 with the silent muffler, the Futuba 7CAF radio, and a Master Airscrew 12x8 3-Blade G/F Nylon Propeller. Any comments or advice? Thanks again

RE: seawind
I see the flying weight listed at 9 lbs - is it that much lighter and yet stronger than the GP version? What engine - prop and other building recommendation can you give? Do you have a PDF manual that I can access? This looks like a sleek beautiful bird - and I'm definately interested - I would like to get the right components for it. Thanks.

RE: Nitroplanes Seawind
How's the Nitroplanes Seawind working out for all you intrepid flyers? How are the take off and landing characteristics? I've just ordered one and I'd like to keep up with your progress and hopefully have something to eventually share re my experiences. thanks
