what 4wd monster trucks/buggies are there now?
g'day all, been out of the hobbie for about 4 year's, last time round the only decent 1:5th scale car's were the HPI baja and FG 2wd monster truck and buggy. wondering what's happened in terms of four wheel drive trucks/buggies sicne i was last here? i'm intersted in getting back into it. i recently found the CEN matrix 5MT and matrix 5 T (monster truck and truggy respectivly) for sale for under $1000 AUS on www.rchobbies.com.au how poorly, or well made are these? what else is there regardless of cost?

brice, you mentioned you were concerned about burning through clutches, have to considered running a wet clutch similar to a motorcycle to combat this?

RE: your favurite beverage
this things can get you off your guts in one six pack, at 11% alc/vol, taste awesome if you sip it, but bloody expensive at $180 AUS a slab (24 bottles), good beer to enjoy with a nice meal. [image]http://www.beerstore.com.au/beerstore/uploads/beerImages/Grand_Ridge_Supershine_L.jpg[/image] but for a cost effective measure the toohey's extra dry platinum go's down alright, isn't a very bity beer so they go down easily, and 6.5% while also being around $55 for a slab of 30. your favurite beverage
i'm talking alcoholic or non alcoholic, not favurite thing to get wasted on but what do you enjoy sitting down after a long hard days work to, for me right now, i'm like a nice cold beez neez or grand ridge yara vally gold. [image]http://www.beerguide.com.au/images/beer_bottles/matildabay_beezneez.jpg[/image] [image]http://www.beerstore.com.au/beerstore/uploads/beerImages/Grand_Ridge_Yarra_Valley_L.jpg[/image] also enjoy the good old aussie coke, we get the cane sugar version, tate's much better then the crappy corn syrup recipe you get in the states.

well look at the times for the cobalt, faster then an EVO 9, and a lick off of the EVO X's lap time, not bad.

RE: Pepsi vs Coke
look for coke with a yellow lid on it, most coke is sweetened with corn syrup, but each year coka cola does a limited run with cane sugar instead which has a yellow lid, still say's corn syrup on the label but drink it ide by side with a white cap bottle of coke, much better. i prefer vanilla coke myself, don't like how sweet pepsi is and i like a bubbly drink.

RE: What if you got fooled?
ORIGINAL: dsales
ORIGINAL: DaveG55 What about the flip side of the question? What if you buy a relitively inexpensive ''American'' car and find out it's got a lot of high end car parts underneath? You are still being ''fooled'' but would you still be pissed?
Like the Australian brand Holden. Their top of the range cars are actually all American with a LS2/LS3 engine and sold dirt cheap. Same with the Vauxhall Monaros. Im just thinking but no one should be fooled. The dealer should firstly tell you at least what chassis the car shares with others if it does so. The fact that my Alfa Mito is derived from the Fiat Puntos chassis did put me off a bit but during the test drive it was clear that it was tweaked to give it better handling. Also most people who buy a car will research it before hand online or through car magazines and that will tell them what lies underneath the bodywork.
only the drive train the aussie car's is american, with exception to the 3.6 liter V-6 which is an aussie made engine, i think it's a bit missleading to say they're all american since from the late 70's until 2006 the holden commodore was based off of various version's of opel statesman and later omega platforms, and the VE models (06 and up) are a competly in house development from holden, also the vauxhall monaro was just a rebadged HSV GTO, which was in tern a high performance version of the holden monaro which was a coupe version of the commodore. what get's me is the G8 (rebadged commodore) was going to cost less in america, evan once taking exchange rates into account then it does here.

RE: possesions: Who gets what?
ORIGINAL: naynay12 Yes ok thanks for the answers though i am still confused since i am getting points of view from both sides.Well there is no chargers like this on ebay australia, though it has been professionally modified to take a 240v AU input, which if i went to my LHS it would have be done for a cost(maybe $20 or something),though thankfully i had a good friend do it for free which i organised by myself. Also the charger has only been used a few times,is in practically in new condition, and if i sold it i would estimate $70 au.(About $80 brand new to ship from the US to AU not including the modification. Anyway i am getting points of view from both sides, what would happen in court,if it was a larger matter, say for example a car. Also please do not post without no reason e.g ''Your brother should get 100% custody of the charger'' Also that $40 is what i would earn in a month.
but do you need it, it's a lot easier to just let it slide, who care's what a court would say, if anything it would go down to who has the recepit for it, in any case i can garrente you wouldn't get $70 for it if you payed $80, despite the modifications, as soon as you buy an electrical appliance it's value is halved as soon as you hand over your money, at most i would think it would be worth $40, at the absolute most.

RE: So there I was, with my quarter million bucks in hand...
ORIGINAL: ThunderbirdJunkie Top Gear's track is too small to count. Would be surprised if either one had enough straight to top 120mph.
that's exactly the point, top gears track was designed so that the car with the most pwoer doesn't have a huge advantage over a less powerful car, to be fast around the TG track the car has to have a reasonable amount of power, but also be able to turn in well, have good body control and plenty of feedback, and put that power to the ground at the same time, if ya after a track that ya can get to the highest speed possible you can always watch nascar. yes the GTR is faster then the Z06 bt a fair margin around the ring.

RE: DONE WITH NITRO
nitro is fun, but for the most part i agree that it's to time consuming and tedious, sure if you have the time free for the maintainence they're a blast, but some of us have other things we have to commit to, unfortunantly gas (large scale) cars are to expensive, leaves electric (although atm i dont have time or money for that either lol) i understand how ya feel, although i never had the issues with poor durability (revo, LST2, losi 8ight T RTR and losi muggy) but the rest of the preventative maintainence got me.

RE: Seriously, need advice from a master mechanic (car trouble)
ORIGINAL: iexion I Recall it having a perfect 50/50 weight distribution which was a ''selling'' point to drifters (even tho I see more Miata's drifting then S2000). As for the NSX if its still even in production for that money there ARE better cars but the nsx still looks kewl (seen a few highly modded versions around here). I ''red'' something about the S2000 born from the S800 (vintage racing) more then a offspring from high end racing... As for power. Even that 701hp S2000 had only 500+something tq. But when your at that level, you can play with gearing and suspension if your drag or track. By no means am i saying the car is slow, it seems like you'd really have to keep on the RPM's exiting a turn to keep the power on tap.[:-] Whatever... sportbikes are faster then cars anyways[sm=shades_smile.gif]
top gear proved the arial atom was faster then a CRB600RR around they're test track [:D] also [link=http://automobiles.honda.com/s2000/]link[/link] still on sale i think? 34k new in the U.S, but seems it's a differant engine to yours foxy, a 2.2 liter, not the 2.0 you have, the S2000cr look's very nice, some might say ricer but i loke the look.
