RE: Nitro proof paint
with all the choices out there, especially with the many types, names ,specific use's, etc.,etc.,that rustoleum has on the market; not to mention the wide variety of rattle can paints that can be had at wal mart or auto parts stores ,I think that unless you're using a product that is specifically marketed to the model airplane enthusiast like Klass coat or Warbird colors to name a couple, one should always do a TEST panel before using something on your plane. Even when a fellow modeler shows you his good results with one type of product and you purchase the same, theres still a chance the manufacturer may have changed the formula and your results could be very different. Again just my opinion.

RE: SCRATCH BUILT P-38M NIGHT LIGHTNING
you might consider shrink tubing over the screws to smooth them out, and a circle of wall board sanding screen between prop and back plate. The sanding screen has grit on both sides.

RE: Nitro proof paint
I think part of the problem is in what we mean when we use the word "fuel". Fuel can be regular gasoline, Kerosene jet fuel, nitro blended glow fuel. When one is talking about "fuel proof" finishes it is important to be very specific as to EXACTLY what type of fuel you want the finish to withstand or be impervious to. My $.02 worth.

I thought Nitrate dope was not "glow fuel proof" and Butyrate was fuel proof. At least that's what I remember from way back flying control line in the late 50's and 60's.

the Dragon figures are 1/6 scale.they will fit if you mean that you can get them into the cockpit.you could also fit a 1/7 or a 1/8 scale figure .would it look right? I think not.

I just ordered the plans for the JU87D from MyHobby Store in the U.K. The plan no. RSQ1636 appears to be correct but its listed as JU81 not 87. If you google JU81 plans it comes up as the first result of the search.

Do you mean of the full size D3 or what I have been able to accomplish? I have only made the Revi gunsight, an instrument panel mock-up, the radio receiver & transmitter, the gunners seat, and the circuit breaker panel on the right side, and the MG81z. Paul

RE: KMP Stuka-build details
I should clarify the above post, I used drawings that I copied to the scale size. You can find these drawings in the archives at http://www.cockpitinstrumente.de/index-englisch.htm. however they require a 20$ registration fee to access the archives. If you're interested in Luftwaffe history its worth every penny, the immense volume of photos and other documents is really great. Paul

overall length 915mm, barrel length 475mm. dont really have any other dimensions, I used these and made a copy of the photos to the scale I needed and worked from there.

Hi Gary, take your drawing or photo of the clock face to a Kinko's or some other print /copy place and reduce/enlarge it on one of their copier's. Determine what the dia. is you need and reduce/enlarge by whatever % you think it needs and then measure it and adjust the % up or down and repeat till you find the right size. Paul

RE: Printing water transfer decals at home
The text doesn't say anything about being fuel proof. Being durable , hard, whatever do not always equate to being fuelproof. I would recomend a test on some samples first. I think these products are intended mainly for the model railroad people.
