RE: OFFICIAL RC18MT/B/T THREAD
one of my 1/10th cars has the same issue so i move the trim just to keep it going. i believe if the shaft is replaced the motor will work again. but most of the 1/18th motors i have don't come apart.

RE: OFFICIAL RC18MT/B/T THREAD
it sounds like the motor has over heated at some point. can you try a different motor or even a different esc

RE: OFFICIAL RC18MT/B/T THREAD
is it cogging at all speeds. also the timing on the esc might be a issue.

RE: NEW!!! Official Traxxas XO-1 1/7 onroad....
MiamizFinest in your opinion how much more power / speed could you get out of this car with only changing the lipo & gearing and wheels. only asking as getting to 100mph in 5 seconds. takes up a lot of road very quick.

RE: NEW!!! Official Traxxas XO-1 1/7 onroad....
safety point of view. out of all the videos i have seen for this car 99% of them are being run in unsafe areas. and if this car does injure someone i believe our hobby will be in for some big changers. as we all know this car comes with loads of warnings. so no one will have any excuses if the worst happens.

RE: NEW!!! Official Traxxas XO-1 1/7 onroad....
someone has held the car off the ground and hit full throttle. and the speed sensor says 130mph. so anyone know what top speed would be while running on a really flat road. as drag would cut the speed down.

the forum member you say about works for a company. and they own the car not him which is a pity. as we still have to wait for a proper review from him or his company.

it.s not a dyno. it is only a set of rollers. and all the talk on this video has been about the lack of top speed. i wonder how much they were holding back.

RE: OFFICIAL RC18MT/B/T THREAD
they sell shims but i think you only get 4 per pack. the reasons some diffs move is the gearbox will flex over time. as for plastic gears they will start to click even when shimmed right because they start to overheat then flex. also never re tighten diffs while hot. i did it with plastic ones and it destroyed it. lol Associated RC18T Differential Shim Set (4) ASC21141

removing the saver is very bad. you could get the upgrade metal clip that fits the saver.

RE: OFFICIAL RC18MT/B/T THREAD
using brushless in a stock rc18 is very bad unless you treat it kind. me and a mate had a rc18B each both brushless. mine after about 5 months of on road use was in very good condition but my mates in that time needed all new turn buckles / tires / loads of diffs / 2 or 3 spur gears even a pinion. 2 sets of front drive shafts / half of the screws are glued in / and the steering is beyond belief / about 4/5 lots of servo saver setups / all i can put this down to is the way he was driving it & the lack of knowledge when rebuilding it.

RE: OFFICIAL RC18MT/B/T THREAD
ORIGINAL: toast. To Exotek or not to Exotek? I got 2 RC18MT's back with minor problems. Im thinking about keeping 1 as a truck and putting probably >$200 for an Exotek (TEK18T or R18II) conversion, new motor, esc... My question is if it is worth it to go with the Exotek conversion or should i skip the kit and just put a brushless engine and make it a bullet proof rc18mt?
i have some exotek stuff. and if you are going to be pulling a lot of power then you need something strong to stop the chassis twist.

for the rear wheels you could try to find 2 thinner tires then fit them the the standard rim
