RE: Pros/Cons
I had a set of nova extensions. Like said above they are junk. Offset wheels are the way to go. If you get 1/2 offset wheels the truck will be near impossible to roll. It helps a great deal.

Use some mothers wheel polish on the pipe. It will shine like new. I do it to all my pipes to bring back the new look.

RE: One way keeps wetting...Sidewinder fuel garbage????
The roto starts are crap. I think the Losi roto starter is the best. Never had a problem with Losi roto start but the HPi roto I have had many problems. I have use sidewinder fuels for years. I use 25/12 and it seems to work alot better than 20/18. I think its just the nature of the beast when it comes to roto starts.

I have been running my Aftershock pretty hard for the past year with a LRP 28 in it. I have yet to break any parts on it. I dont think its a common problem. I think these are some of the toughest trucks out.

Do you prime the carb before starting? You have to prime the carb and lines prior to starting.

I actually bought one when I first got into Savages because

RE: REDCAT RACING? ANY GOOD?
There are alot better trucks out for alot less money than the redcats. You can get teh MMGT 3.0 for under 200.00. Cant beat that deal period. I started my oldest son off with a redcat for his first nitro and it was decent but he quickly outgrew it and needed something more durable and faster. My youngest son has his first nitro and its a mgt4.6. I know he wont outgrow it and its tough as nails. No need to upgrade his truck for a long while. Sometimes buying cheap is not always a good deal in the long run.

RE: sweet, another more power for mmgt thread
ORIGINAL: hondapride59 U can probably get a cheap used 3.3 on ebay and/or go for a big block later....I guess big block is the new thing in rc cars but if ur gonna go big block I wouldn't suggest a rtr engine...usually the os and other brands are much better tuned and power wise
You are totally wrong on rtr engines. There are some really good rtr engines out there that will easily hang with other name brands. The Losi 427, Sportwerks 21v2 and 26v2, losi 454, HPI F4.6 and the most bulletproof and ease of tune engine on the market the Thunder Tiger pro 28. The Sportwerks engines are very hard to beat for the price and power. Any SH engine will be a solid engine. Nothing wrong with rtr engines if you know what to look for . A Sportwerks 21v2 is a real screameer. Gobs of top end and great low end torque but not so much to worry about breaking a part every time you take off.

RE: LST2 and Savage XSS Jumps..
I have 2 savages and one aftershock with the lrp and my aftershock is by far the fastest 1/8 Mt is have ever had. It will lift the wheels going into second gear and man does it fly. I still love my savages but the aftershock really shines when it comes to speed and flying. I have never had a problem with my aftershock but have been through several diffs and drivetrain parts in the year that I have owned them. Savage is tough but its not the toughest.

RE: Used O86
Pipes dont go bad. It will work fine. The stock HPi pipe may be one of the worst pipes out. The axial 32 is not a powerhouse to beginwith but the pipe will wake it up.

RE: Posi Diffs
posi diff will put alot more stress on other drivetrain components. It will also make steering harder. You wont be able to make tight turns because the outer wheel cant turn at a different speed than the inner tire. On the other hand traction will be way better. Posi traction locks both right and left wheels together so they spin the same all the time. Normally your trucks are open (unlocked)diffs.

You wont find anything for that amount and if you do its going to be crap. You could check out redcat or himoto. They make a decent low budget starter.
ORIGINAL: BudBud Thinder Tiger also builds a very robust two speed for their ST-1 truggy. You might look into that two speed as it was truggy designed... The TT truggy is another very tough unit, but it is like me....carries a hefty weight penalty. [;)]
My st1 was less than 8lbs. Not very heavy at all. I got rid of the heavy wheels and tires. That was the toughest truck I have ever owned.

You want a screamin drop in motor for the mgt then either get the LRP 28 or LRP 30. Forget about the 8.0.

RE: Savage temperature problem?
240 is not even clost to being too hot. 280 is not hot either. If you are under 300 and see plenty of smoke with good power than dont worry about it. If it approaches 300 lay off teh throttle a bit to let it cool. Also if you run with a body it will run about 20-30 degrees hotter than without. Bodies need some cooling holes to help cool the engine. What fuel are you running and what is teh oil content. higher oil content will also run hotter. You dont want anymore than 12% oil content.

The Thunder Tiger St1 truggy is a great truggy. Extremly durable. The most durable rc I have ever had. Lots of upgrades and it handles awsome. You can get these complete from A Main for under 300.00. I raced one all last season for my first time in truggy class and took 3rd overall over guys that have been racing for years and racing high dollar truggies. I was very happy with it.

You have the high speed needle which is the thickest one, low speed should be at either end of the carb and then idle screw. MAke sure you have new fuel and maybe even a new plug.
