RE: First Heli
You might want to look at the blade 120 sr. It's a little bigger and you would be able to take it outside. It's still a fixed pitch heli but will stand a little more wind. I have both the msr snd the 120. The msr is out of production but parts are still out there.

RE: First Heli
That's a good choice for 1st heli except you won't be able to fly it outside unless there is very very little wind. IMO

RE: I Pulled the Trigger
Yes the 120 is just a bigger msr but it will fly outside. I just came in from flying mine in 6 to 8 mph wind. I also think madmorgan is being a little harsh. I have a mcpx and it's a good heli but I think the 120 is a good heli to get someone's intrest going in flying.

RE: outdoor heli
I agree with denodan. I have a Blade 120 fp heli and I can fly it in a very slight wind but it dosen't do very well in gusts. Your best bet for outside is a collective pitch heli.

RE: Are you a member of a club?
I am not a member of a club but I am a ama member. I mostly fly helis and when I inquired about joining a club that is nearby I was told there were no heli trainers in the club. Another club that accepts heli fliers is almost 30 minutes away. So for now I am just flying in the park.

RE: Help with Heli Value
I don't think coming in to helis with a 10 yr old heli is a good idea. You have to really search for parts for something that old. Plus , since it already has some damage is going to set you back even further. If you had lots of experience and wanted to fix a older heli I think it would be different. jmo

Blade sr 120
I have a blade sr 120 and I need to change the rotor head. I've been looking for a video on disassembling the rotor head but haven't found anything. Anybody done this before? Does it require pulling the whole main shaft out? Thanks

RE: flight near walls
I think it is the same effect that helis have on the ground. It has to get up high enough to get out of it's own turbulance. Once up high enough you have more of a controlled hover. I would think it's the same close to a wall or ceiling.

RE: First Buy
I would go with the mcx2. I have a mcx and I like it. It's a pretty tough heli that takes beginner abuse. I don't know anything about the syma heli. You should go to yr LHS and see what helis they carry. I'm sure that somebody there would help you ! JMO

Changed the board in my msr a few months ago. I think there are a couple of screws with plastic washers holding the board. the rest is just plug in stuff. Look on e-bay for a board, that's where I got mine.

Blade sr 120
I have a blade sr 120 that I changed the flybar on. The sr flew great for a few flights but now it has developed the toilet bowl effect. It takes off as usual but quickly wants to go into a backwards whirl. I am using my dx6i controler. Could I have something set wrong there ? Like I said it flew great for a few flights. Thanks for any suggestions
