RE: sumo rc truggy
The sumo is an Redcat Racing product and they have their own support forum on here. Try there since some employees from Redcat frequently check up on there. They should help you with no problems.

RE: JUNK!!!!!!!!
Should of went with a Monsoon XTR since it can out perform your HPI Savage X. Since you already have a beast of a truck he might of liked the hobby if he could race it and beat it.

RE: Charger questions
They are not however tougher than the XTR series but good trucks none-the-less. And for the charger i would suggest going with any Duratrax Onxy charger. It will charge a 5000mah battery in just under an hour and charge the 3200mah in just about 30 mintues, they do have DC power capabiltys and one of them can indeed chrage two batteries at one time.

RE: Shockwave and Tornado
I started with the ORIGNAL Shockwave and it was a blast. Remember that with these being buggies that they are pretty quick so for the son i would recomend the shockwave. There are alot of people who will only say that redcat is crap but those are also the people who maintained the horribly, I see you have a MGT so you are probally well advised on how to treat them. The only real con that i can see is the electronics which will do there job but will also retire pretty quickly. Regular ol' stock traxxas servos are cheap and will be a HUGH problem solver. Of course a hump pack will be bennifital but not despertly needed and the stock radio will be fine but if your son is pretty young then it may need replacing before long, which i only say that because two of mine died due to abuse and the insides broke. Run aways are never good. So maintain them and they will be great. And when you get a chance buy extra spurs and arms since they are really the only things that will break.

RE: carb does not return all the way
Waterproof would only be good if your idea is for it is "dustproof" since in would destroy eveything beside the servo (I.E. pointless really).. Good servo choice: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXFRS6&P=SM $30/steering http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXDEL9&P=SM $13/throttle and breaking I perferably use karbonite gear since they are ALOT stonger than plastic gears and yet lighter than metal. Whats your budget?

I know the fraustration first hand, i have had this exact problem. Without a doubt you are going to need new servos, maybe not RIGHT now but soon you will.

RE: carb does not return all the way
Alittle from the servo not really being good enough and some from the carb itself just being a tad quirky. If your going to keep the stock servo use a rubber band since it will give alittle easier on the servo. You can update your servos with stock traxxas ones or hitec even has some decent $10-16 servos and then you could use the spring and worry less about servo failure.

RE: carb does not return all the way
Use either a small rubber band or a spring to help return the throttle. Also i good new servo will aid in the return.

RE: Sumo/Redcat 1/24 fun NOT
Of course the epx pro is going to be faster it has brushless. The sumos copies of another companys toy grade RC, i cant remeber the name for the live of me but if you look it up you will be able to find their name somewhere. I believe the other company may have some other options that might make yours run alittle better so i would check on that. Just rememeber that these are more towards small kids RC's that hobby grade RC driver father buy their kids to keep them away from their expensive trucks.

RE: Volcano S30 VS Vortex SS
They dont have the same engine, the volcano has a SH .18 and the vortex has a Vertex .18. The SH will have better performance. The vortex will accelerate faster due to the smaller wheels and handle better since its lower. The volcano will have a better top speed since it has larger wheels. Hope nobody calls this brand bashing. (282262)

I just noticed that this thread got this long. So s-rxt1 how are you liking the rxt now? Glad you didnt give up on it? LOL. Properly put together these truggys are amazing. After reading how bad your start was with it, it just brought back so many good memories i had with mine (ALOT of cussing was also involved). SO you made up my mind and im am getting another one.

RE: more snow, hoooray, NOT
Okay so apparently my posts are getting to touchy for some people. We have been getting snow on and off all day here. Sucks. Ready for some warmer weather already. ALSO im getting about tired of some of the people over on the redcat forum. Ive been help people over there for years and as soon as i say that i dont like the 8E line up i turn into some kind of redcat hateing peice of "crap" (that better ken?). I like the himoto guys better anyways. And Eddie if i can ever get my tax crap sorted out and not rejected by the "goverment" it looks like i may be picking up another RXT.

RE: my m18t pro is too fast!! need help
PS. rock crawlers like to have about a 55 turn motor for the torque and speed demons like to have 9 turn motors. See how the turns affect the speed? Well the Kv rating is about the same thing in something like a different language and goes backwards. 6800Kv = faster / 4200 = more torque. 55t = more torque / 9t = faster Anybody correct me if im wrong.

RE: my m18t pro is too fast!! need help
Drifting on polished wood floors might be a real bad idea to your finish on the floors. what tires are you running? The 4200kv will actually have more torque than what your already running and will have less top speed. The KV rating is the RPM per volt also the lower the KV is the exact same thing as going up in the turns of the motor. I dont actually know the exact specs but its like this: 4200Kv is 14t and your 6800Kv is a 10t (these are not the right specs just a example). does this help?
