multi radio question
I need three radios to work in dependently directly beside each other, for this i know that i need three different frequency crystals but i have no clue which crystals will work with the radios and receivers i am looking at. The radios that i am interested in are the Futaba 2DR 2-Channel Am radio and it comes with the R122JE rx and 2 S3003 servos. If some one would help me with this problem i would greatly appreciate it. And if you could locate what i need (three different frequency crystals that will work with R122JE rx and 2DR AM tx) on RcPlanet.com and post the links in a reply in would help out ALOT.

Also how would the center diff hold up against either axial .28 spec 1s or HPI K4.6 (.28)?

RE: Redcat Custom Monster Truck
I did that with my shockwave. Going only rear wheel drive makes wheelies a hell of a lot easier and has the whole push factor, but i also found that it causes it to spin out incredibly easy. On the lightning i took out the center rear dogbone and played with it that way for a little bit. It really slowed acceleration down but at high speed when i took complete 180 degree turns it slung the rear end out pretty good and after a little practice i could get it perfectly.

RE: Redcat Custom Monster Truck
ORIGINAL: jpilkinton I will also mount my wireless camera inside the body to get a bird's eye view of inside action.
Inside action as the camera pointed to the mechanics of the truck or out like most cameras? Either way you go you have two trucks in one with just changing the wheels and lowering the body. It seems to me that turning is extremely effected the front wheels don't pull. Either lowrider or monster truck i think going four wheel drive would be superior.

The same one but mine was out of my shockwave. I figure when i finally upgrade the lightning to the sh. 18 i will just put the vx .16 that he gave me into the shockwave so that is back up and running.

RE: Redcat Custom Monster Truck
Those body mounts are impressive, great craftsmanship. I know its your build but please don't make it like the tamiya high lift with the body ridiculously higher than the chassis. lol. I hate that more than anything. I prefer the avalanche look with the body real low, more of an aggressive look than realistic. But again its your build so build it the way you want to. Have you put the front center dogbones in yet or is it still only two wheel drive?

RE: Monster off-road touring car.
No progress at the moment, still have to get everything sorted out and put up. But this house did come with a perfect little work space in my bedroom for the cars. Yeah before i left Utah a friend gave me his vx .16 so i have something to work with after he upgraded to sh .18 in his lightning. It has a little cosmetic damage but performance wise its works just fine. I am about to start unloading trucks for wal-mart so ill have much more spending money to speed up this build.

RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Avalanche thread
ORIGINAL: aaeandcee The Traxxas Revo 3.3 is an excellent truck. I own the battery version of this truck, the Stampede. Tyler valentine Actually the E-Revo is the "electric version" (battery version" is an incorrect term). The stampede is really no comparison to the Revo at all. ORIGINAL: ugly duck The Avalanche is really in a class all by itself, but you could compare it to the Team Losi Muggy if you needed SOMETHING to compare it to. It's really a Monster Truck / Truggy hybrid. Tyler Valentine A Truggy IS a mix between a Buggy and a Monster Truck so the avalanche is more of a Truggy with monster truck tires and a truck body. ORIGINAL: goldwing1800l@sbcglobal.net does anyone know what the wheel hub size is on the avalanche/landslide/volcano 14mm 17mm 19mm or what?? Tyler Valentine Volcano = 12mm and Landslide/Avalanche = 14mm I am 99% positive that those are the correct sizes.

RE: Pull start problem
i prefer the pullstart myself for that exact same reason. but you can also start it by removing the pullstart and find a socket that fits onto the one-way bearing and using a drill you just have to take the bearing and socket off before you run it or you will lose them. (more of a on-road fix due to off-road dirt getting in and screwing up your engine).

RE: Alright, so who ran what?????????
get really good at racing and then race them. Beat them and they'll shut up. I have a friend named josh that i race with andd he has a HPI RS4 and he use to do that. I showed him that most of the time in racing its more about the drivers skill at maintaining a steady pace and keeping a good line than how fast your car is. Also when you do win you get to say my $180 car just beat your $340 so suck on that, lol.

RE: Monster off-road touring car.
My rear wheels are much wider than the front. My plan is to buy to new sets of Redcat buggy complete front wheels sets for front and rear. I might of not said that in which case my bad. Im going with the front wheels because they are narrower and will provide better clearance with 190mm body.

RE: body question
I know that redcats buggy and monster trucks have longer chassis. I actually wanted to go the the shorter chassis which is why i used the lightnings instead of the shockwaves. You kind of have the bodys backwards for what im going for though. Im wanting a 190mm instead of the 200mm that i already have.

RE: Monster off-road touring car.
That is actually exactly what i was going for! Thanks for showing me that. Now im 50/50 on continuing in the direction that i was going. some offset wheels like that would be extremely helpful on clearance issues.

I soon as i get to Oklahoma i will get some measurements of clearance and suspension travel. but your truck looks awsome, it looks like a cross-country race truck (not a baja truck).

A school bus would be pretty bad ass, and not the short bus crap either, the pusher series (the line of bluebird school buses with the exhaust exiting at the rear instead of in front of the rear wheels).

RE: Monster off-road touring car.
If only you replied sooner, lol. Everything in my house is packed up at the moment. I am moving to Oklahoma on wednesday. The crack starts at the engine mount (on the block not the mount) and has as little sliver (not silver) crack about half an inch squiggling up the block itself. The only way i noticed it is when i pulled the engine inside where it quieter and while pulling the pull cord (i made last night out of sewing thread for heavy jackets. It took forever) the engine made a hissing sound, looking around it and then i noticed the crack. I actually started laughing because i was so pissed (result of waking up to no ciggarettes).

RE: Monster off-road touring car.
Some friends and myself do a little racing on a abandoned airstrip on the edge of town. From my perspective on the two types of suspension setup i prefer using PBS, C-Hubs have always in my experience had to much play and effected cornering. PBS gives it a much smoother turn i believe. I have also for some reason never not been able to keep a C-Hub from breaking every other race. It seems that every time one of us contact each other it rips the hub from the hinge pin, with PBS on the other hand i have only encountered that once with a curb.

RE: Monster off-road touring car.
Did a little looking over the engine and found that the engine block has cracked, i have no clue how either. Striped the engine and zip-locked everything but the block just in case i need them in the future. Luckily i was planning on getting a new engine anyways. So HA! the jokes on the engine (I am extremely tired. Sounded funny as hell in my head.) I know that even with a 190mm body the fenders will need some trimming. Personally i am more of a truggy guy myself so i have been recently debating going with a truggy body which isn't at all what i was going for but i also see it as a improvement in design due to clearance issues. I have also debated hub extensions but since i have never used them i have no clue how they work and if they at all damage the integrity of the vehicle. On the other hand going with a truggy body will pretty much make it a truggy with buggy wheels on a on-road chassis.
