RE: Blizzard outrigger electronics?
Absolutely can use it in a Rigger, but that motor is a lower Kv motor (+-1800kv) it needs at least 14.8 (4s) to be alive, it'll really drag with 2s

You can always get a [link=http://www.vac-u-boat.com/Vac-U-Pickle.htm]Vac-U-Pickle[/link] Hydro for $110 shipped and throw in an SV27 motor, electronics and hardware... use either lipos or nimhs... it would not break your bank either...

RE: Climatemodels Blizzard outrigger parts ?
Hey Ray... good to see ya here too... I was wondering if you knew that there is a difference in size between the Octura's and the Hughey's... Octura's are 0.130 and the Hughey's are 0.125. that may explain the slop. And Easy Rider... 3mm = 0.118" 2.5mm = 0.098"

RE: Octura x438?
I have the 440/3 and I have no cavitation problems. If he didn't have a problem with a smaller prop why would he have a problem with a bigger prop and one extra blade? I think that what will be noticeable is a little bit of increase in temperatures and IF you don't balance and sharpen depending on your motor/batteries setup you MAY see a little less high end but it'll pick up speed much faster then a 2 blade... that is my experience with it. RE: Too many apms?
I see, you are including the slipage in there already... In my book it falls on the power you have on your motor... If it is too much of a prop, it won't push. These days piercing props (used on surface drives) need to unwind the RPM that the motor wants to trow in the water. Now if one is using submerged drive, that is a whole different game. No high RPM needed... just torque.

RE: Too many apms?
The prather 220 actually has a pitch of 2.6, or 2.6"/rev (or 66mm) and a diameter of 1.72" or 43.688mm. How are you getting your numbers? The 215 has a pitch of 2.5 or 63.5mm and a diameter of 1.6" or 40.65mm Prather's system is a little different then the Octuras where a X440 prop stands for {X=Non lifting, 4= 1.4 pitch, 40= 40mm diameter} I think they are saying that a smaller prop is better because it spins faster... it gets to a point where one is only overheating the ESC, motor and batteries and has no increase of rpm due to oversized prop. The size of a prop will depend directly on the setup you have on your boat(motor strenght).

RE: Too many apms?
you can start by figuring out the max draw on your motor. Sometimes it is mentioned on the papers that come with it and sometimes you can find it online. That way you know the max amps you can draw on that motor before something bad happens. You also want a motor that has a smaller draw then the max amps on your ESC. The size of the prop is directly proportional to the amount of amps you draw, the bigger the prop the more amps are drawn. The 4200 cells, one can safely assume that they draw 4.2 amps per cell (or more in some cases), but that is dictated by the effort that the motor is putting out. If your cells are in series the amps don't ad up only in parallel. Let's say, if you are running two 4200 6 packs in series the only thing that will ad up is the voltage, you'll have the equivalent to one 4200mAh 14.4v pack and if you are running them in parallel then you'll have the equivalent to one 8400 7.2v pack. Does that help?

ONLY IF your charger is rated to that many cells in series. I have a 2x 6 cells in series and charge them like that.

RE: Feigao 540L VS Cordite SS1
Since money is a heavy consideration (when is it not? [:D]), maybe you should consider the 700sc from http://www.offshoreelectrics.com, Steve actually offers a good deal for that motor+Jeti ESC. the 700sc is a VERY similar motor to the SS1... I hope that this helps.

RE: RENEGADE RIGGER QUESTIONS?
hi Kevin, I am assuming that you bught the $119 deal (motor included), the offshore HW combo and the TP1320. the important thing here is that the battery amp discharge is really close to the ESCs amp max capacity and you are running the max Volts as well: 13c x 1320mAh = 17.16amps I wonder if your ESC cannot handle the spikes generated on heavy loads OR the high Volage cutoff is kicking in when you hit the throttle while the battery is fresh. These are my 2cents, I hope it helps.

RE: renegade rigger questions
Hi Seflyer, I was just reading about this on another forum and in adition to the stuff you mentioned, I believe only the "Renegade Hardware" from offshoreelectric.com is needed. Aparently Red has some sort deal with them. It's actually named Hardware for Renegade Micro Rigger and it's going for 60+S/H located about half page down the Hardware section. Hope it helps,

Yes, here... one of the best ones in the market: http://www.drcwebservices.com/ffe/hardware.htm Half the way down the page you'll see the single and the dual motor gear boxes, same price, your choice (keep in mind you can run 1 motor on the dual).

RE: Rooster direction
15 degrees? That seems a to high. The tabs are supposed to emulate the bottom of the hull, something like an extension, but you said they are pointing up, right? They may be picking up water and shooting it up somehow. Yes, pictures would be awesome, would help to narrow the possibilities or remedy your little problem.

RE: fast electric outboard on tunnel
hi guys, I just finished my Top Speed 2, w/ this lower leg (http://hyperprod.bizhosting.com/3_5_angle_drive.html), a 775 Cordite, a Fullers gas/electric adapter and 5 LiPo cells... all I can say is it will go fast once I get the proper height and angle on that baby... It needed a little more adapting (steering arm), that I had to create, but I would not change my setup. In case you wondering, you probably will have to create the steering arm on any other lower leg as well, keep that in mind. I'll post pics/video once I have them.

I googled all the info I needed on my updates... like for instance: I own IB3800 mah = 3800 ohms = 0.0043 wgt = 1.84 volts = 1.19 I am not sure that all this is 100% correct, but it's a ballpark. Maybe email the people at Intellectual and ask them...
