RE: Why not brushless motors on pumps ?
ORIGINAL: Miniflyer The main reason NOT to use brushless on pumps is their tendency to start rather abruptly with a rather high RPM. You can start up a (good!!) brushed motor at 0,1-0,15V and have it spinning at 1-2rpm.....i have NEVER seen a brushless start up to run at anything below about 50rpm.... Especially during kero ignition and run-up, a very precice and SLOW running motor is an absolute must. It's not like it has not been tried, it just did not work out as planned.... It COULD make sense for a starter motor, however: why waste the effort, money and energy to "develop" such a system? If you have a problem with motors burning out, try setting the disengage-rpm down a bit....it helps. I'm running a Speed400 on my 70N-160N turbines, uncoupling at 15000rpm, and did not burn one out yet. If i ever do, i'll have a replacement for about $3..... A brushless-option for those who do feel the need would be nice though...maybe in future developments :-) Best regards Hank
Well said

RE: DX7 loss of control
I can't see how a 4700uf 10v cap can fix a voltage dropping problem! I think they need look into these regulators that should have a simular cap on the output. So on the other hand the DSM system is not compatable with these regulators. And if its straight battery this cap is useless.

Isn't there some big power differrence between to two? The TITAN was suppose to be a 36# pound engine now its 32. The Merlin is 36 all the way. This comparison between the two does not make any sense[8|].
Sounds to me like you already had your mind made up...
I think so too[8D]

Does JR, Hitec, or Futaba make all the component thats on the controller board ? FET (transistors, resistors, Capacitor) these are the parts that burn out. Good servo is in the eye of the beholder.

RE: RAM 1000 Problems
Try pulling out the GLOW PLUG element as much as possible. Make sure your starter Assembly use the new speed 500 motor. Any slipping during startup will cause a fail start. Remember the lower the ecu GLOW PLUG (48) setting the brighter the plug glows. Try pressing the air button to get the max RPM to jump start the engine then hit the start button.[;)] Some time its best the remove the glow plug from the engine then connect the plug wires to the glow plug then try to start the engine. This give you an idea how to adjust the plug voltage

RE: Holy Smokes!!!!
ORIGINAL: Robrow Hi Bob, for a good clean smoke shut-off you could add something like the fuel valve used for your engine. This should go after the smoke pump for best effect. I have the ends of the tube well into the exhaust efflux to pre-heat the fluid for max vapourisation, this might help with your residue problem. Or you using the servo tester as your throttle control. Make sure the servo tester is working by connecting it to a servo and checking the correct travel range.

RE: ARTES JET. GREAT SERVICE.
The Rhino, also physically the size and weight of a P-120 (according to Artes specs, did not physically measure) was producing 34lbs @ 118,000 consuming 18.2oz a minute at full throttle... The Titan was producing 31lbs @ 123,000 consuming 16.5 oz min at full throttle. All tested at the same OAT (within 30 min of each other) on the same stand using the same methods to measure data.... No preferances here as I love the quality of all three brands, each having a selective highlight over the other.... http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_2866115/anchors_2866115/mpage_1/key_p%252D180%252Cjetcat/anchor/tm.htm#2866115
