RE: Meister 1/5 scale P-47
ORIGINAL: ram3500-RCU Flew Zombie at a local war bird event last week end. I had some fun with her with a couple hammer heads and some low inverted passes. I was shooting for 2-3 feet AGL with the rudder. This one sank more than I had expected. This great photo was taken just before I arrested the sink with a quick pull that actually pushed the rudder even lower. Just a couple inches AGL, I was told. I was watching the wings and the nose. [:D]
Cracking model and great flying!! I was getting a bit low with mine the other week but not that low... and not inverted. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnsU1md-_8w&feature=relmfu

RE: Blackbushe Model Airshow - 19th May UK
Thankfully Ali is back to run the line this year so I don't have to do it....... but I am on scrutineer and failsafe duty....but with the caliber of pilots attending I don't expect to find any problems at all so my job should be much easier this year.

RE: BICKLEY JETS 2012 "CANCELLED"
Bickley jets is cancelled for this year. The few that did book in will of course get their money back. Its a real shame but with little interest from Bickley members and similar from non members, the decision was made for us. We'll have a go again next year and see

RE: BICKLEY JETS 2012 "CANCELLED"
Cheers Ali I guess having so much choice these days is a good thing, it just makes it tougher or potentially more expensive for the smaller clubs like us with no fixed facilities to try and run successful events...... I have been advised by the committee to see what happens over the weekend with bookings, then they will make the final decision on what will be done for this year. How d'ya get on at TOP GUN?
ORIGINAL: BaldEagel I'm here and reading, last year I was on car park duty most of Sunday and so missed a lot of the event, but am always willing to give a hand. Mike
Never a nice job but also very necessary. It was much appreciated Mike, thank you Dave, I flew at your site a few years ago. A cracking facility. You certainly are lucky buggers for having all that. Good luck with your event

RE: BICKLEY JETS 2012 "CANCELLED"
What we all need to find is a hidden tarmac or putting green grass runway somewhere, with no houses nearby, plenty of room for camping, and maybe a pop up bar for the evenings. Only then would it mean organisation is not needed. TEACHER HAS SPOKEN! [;)]

RE: BICKLEY JETS 2012 "CANCELLED"
Thanks Dave, Our problem and worry is the outlay. We don't have space and permanent facilities as you know so need to get them in. We can of course run an event without them but feel its only right to provide certain things. To actually put this into perspective, as of now we have less than 10 people booked in and only 4 of them are guests! What a cracking jet meet that would be eh [:D]

RE: BICKLEY JETS 2012 "CANCELLED"
I hear ya Chris...... frustrating isn't it. We have enough jet flyers in the Bickley club to hold a decent event but even they won't contact me. Still, we put ourselves in this position so have to accept it I guess. [:o] Best of luck with your event Cheers

RE: BICKLEY JETS 2012 "CANCELLED"
i agree, all these things could be having an effect which is why we/i have to be realistic about it. [&o] When we didn't have a meeting a couple of years ago because of a local resident causing us problems, we/i was wrong to do that in many peoples opinion. They also said then that bickley jets was dead and would never return....errrm wrong! It was brought back and was again a great event (which all but 3 people booked in to). If we have to cancel it again this year for whatever reason i will again do what i can to bring it back again next year when these big national events aren't here. I don't own a jet and i'm not on the committee anymore at bickley so forgive me for not finding certain things that funny when individuals that do absolutely nothing for the club continue to point fingers and moan when i'm trying to help them!!! Anyway, I'm still [:D] and hoping we can hold some form of jet meet this year. Thanks

RE: BICKLEY JETS 2012 "CANCELLED"
Last years thread had to be cleaned up by the mods because of the rubbish that was written. banter and direct abuse are 2 completely different things one form to fill in to make sure we can accommodate those wanting to camp is not too much to ask and has proven very necessary in past years because of the limited space we have. Thanks

I said said no rubbish, which you have proved once again you can't do. I suggest you and I have a little chat outside of this forum

RE: BICKLEY JETS 2012 "CANCELLED"
We have always been the same time of year but understand other events may be favored. It really doesn't matter of course cause it means less work for us so its no problem. We/I just need to be realistic about it from a clubs point of view. Theres no point in paying money for toilets and a skip, having a food wagon on site and doing all the necessary organising and field preparation for only a few guests. The bottom line is this. Unless a lot more people book in this coming week we'll cancel it for this year. Will we consider doing one next year....OF COURSE!!!! but only if we know we would get the necessary support So its over to you guys that aren't Bickley members. If you want to come and fly at our site with our many jet flying members....please book in this week. if not, no problem at all [;)]

RE: BICKLEY JETS 2012 "CANCELLED"
OK mate no probs. As you well know, these events take a lot to organise and with the lack of support for Bickley jets this year for whatever reason, its looking quite likely that we will cancel it. I will leave the booking open for one more week before making the final decision, so lets see how we go

RE: BICKLEY JETS 2012 "CANCELLED"
The numbers that have booked in so far are low. We are 5 weeks away but unless they increase very soon we may be better to cancel the event instead of putting in the time, effort and money as a club to hold it. I understand that there is the 4 day JMA meet the week before and the Weston Park meet the week after that could be putting people off, which is totally fine and understandable of course. So, can I ask a favor please. If you are intending on booking in but just haven't got round to it yet, can you please PM or email me and let me know. Also, if you normally come but won't be this year, could you also please let me know. The reason you are not coming is none of my business, I'd just like to gauge numbers to see if its worthwhile or not for this year. Many of the Bickley club members would welcome getting their club back for the weekend, so that is potentially what we will do for this year Many thanks Gregg

RE: Ignition problem, switch promlem or something else?
I will be changing all those components but not till I've seen if my problems were just the muck. Changing the components will hopefully then just be preventative not cure

RE: Ignition problem, switch promlem or something else?
Initially, no. I want to see if the problem was JUST the muck first. However hoping and assuming that it was just the muck, I will then be changing those connectors too........ and putting extra filters in the system Cheers
