RE: Brushless vs Brushed
Thanks much guys, I picked the Sidewinder 5700 since I plan to run onroad and also run my truck offroad as well just not as much but for a change. I figure the Factory Team truck is not the latest in technology but it should be fun to run the truck for kicks since I am not the best driver anyway I think the 5700 will be strong enough for me. Can anyone give me some ideas on where to start with gearing and which lipos would you reccommend, I still think I will try a couple of 8 cell RC2400 zapped and matched packs I have a box of cells that I can try out. I need to email CC Customer Service and see which size brushed motors I can run up to with the ESC for the heck of it. Thanks again for the help guys I appreciate the help I will post some pics later this week of the truck. Joe

Brushless vs Brushed
Hi I have a NIB T3 Factory Team that I am finally going to build and use to run mostly on road in front of my home. I am trying to decide upon a brushless motor system or a brushed one. I do fly brushless motors in my planes so I would like to try one in my truck. I am considering the Castle Creations Sidewinder 5700 and CC ESC if I did want to use brushed motors their ESC will work with them. I also need some suggestion on gearing for the truck, I will mostly be running HPI wheels and street tires. I have two very slick bodies that I had airbrushed by a person with far more talent than I so I kinda want to make it go as well as it looks. The radio I have for it is a NIB ATX M8 if that helps? Any help or suggestions would really be appreciated[;)] Who knows if I really like cars I may get myself a glow monster truck next always wanted one of them maybe a Savage XL [X(][X(] Thanks Much Joe

YS 140 Sport?
Hi, I have a newly rebuilt YS 140 that was done by YS about 2 years ago but I havent run it yet. I picked up the engine after its rebuild so I have no idea what to expect from it power-wise"never owned a YS 4 stroke. I have a World Models P51D that they reccommend a 120FS for would the 140 be too much power for the plane?" If so could anyone reccommend a warbird that could use the engine? Thanks Much Viper

Help With AFDP Add Ons?
Hi I have a couple of questions about my copy of AFDP if anyone could help me It would be great? I bought AFDP just about last October so I have had it only about 4 months and the box said it came with the ADD ON disc For Starflight and there are two discs in the box I Installed them both. I thought that it meant I had already loaded Starflight and when the program loads you can see Starflight loading or at least it looks to be? So I purchased two new Add On discs, the first is the Starflight disc and I dont recognize the numbers on the cover. The Version I am running is 1.9.7.3 so I was told that the Starflight disc will update my program? The next disc Add On #4 and I was told thats newest disc out besides the version 2 that lets you fly full scale planes did I get the correct Add On discs? Thanks Much Viper

RE: World Models 60 ARF P51 which engine
Thanks Cyclic, I am going to install the 120 Surpass and in cowl muffler if I can find one I had planned to install some triangle stock in the back of the firewall and then some West Epoxy and fiberglass cloth. I also need to strengthen the retract plates as I need to trim them a bit to fit the Robarts and struts. Thanks Again Viper

World Models 60 ARF P51 which engine
Hi all, well I am finally going to build my new World Models 60 P51 and I am curious as to whhich engines you guys have been running on them? I tried to find the old post from about 3 years back on the plane but no luck. I never did get to build mine along with a bunch of other planes due to health issues. I did however buy a new set of Robart 550 air retracts with matching P51 type struts for the plane. I want to run a four stroke and I have a couple to choose from NIB OS 91 Surpass II 120 Surpass III. I am leaning towards the 120 but I wanted to see what some of you that are flying the plane thought and could tell what your running? I just recently opened the box again on my bench and the plane still looks sharp I am dying to build it. Hopefully in a couple of weeks I will be able to. Thanks for any help or tips about the plane. Mike, I downloaded patch# 1.9.7.9 and the version number thats in the top right hand of the screen is 1.9.7.3 However all I needed to do was to reboot the PC and its all good[:D][:D] I am a happy guy[:D][:D] I started and ended the program 3 times(Not Reboot just open and close the program) after the initial boot and it WORKS KILLER beats the hell out of RF. Mike please dont tell me I installed the wrong patch[X(] It was the only one that said it was for Starflight, now I did go onto a different website just now thats in both English/German On the page 1.9.7.9 had a later date 12/06 and it was for Starflight so I downloaded but it works and I love it. Thanks Mike Joe

RE: New patch for AFPD add-on users Version 1.9.7.9
Mike, I just installed Starflight add on disc to AFDP and the first thing I did was to download and installe the patch from the website but I noticed the patch didnt have the same revision number I assumed it was an up to date patch (It said it was for Starflight). The installer said it succesfully installed Starflight I did not run the program before I loaded the patch and I also got a message that it was succesful. I then started the program and the graphics and performance are awesome. I have a problem though when I exited the program my PC crashed and I got a bunch of vertical lines on my screen and nothing would allow me to close the program so I turned off the power and rebooted. and then If you can help me with this problem it would be great because this sim is too much fun I gotta run it I love the P51! I did not reboot the PC after installing the Starflight Disc and the Update patch I just went and flew the Mustang, was that the problem should I have rebooted the machine after the upgrades(You probably remember me you helped me out on the phone) Thanks Much Joe

RE: AFPD Success!
Well, it runs at 650+ FPS without VSync I need to download the latest drivers for my video boards and sound card I just havent had time to but the sim is smooth and my Dell 27" wide screen LCD monitor looks great infact I turned the sim down a couple of notches from the native resolution of my monitor to get the best speed and picture at least thats what the directions say? Like I said I will download the newest drivers this weekend and then tweak my video section but truthfully I am happy with how its running now and it runs stable with no crashes [;)] I am going to install my new scanner and Logitech gaming mouse before I do the video drivers, oh this leads me to a question for Mike. Mike, should I get Starflight and install it and the patch before I update my drivers if they are available or does it matter??? Thanks Again Guys. Joe

AFPD Success!
Well, I have my new copy of AFPD with the Airtronics USB Interface installed and running great. I would like to thank Mike (AKA Rajul) He really went the extra mile for by calling me from home after he got home from work at OMP to help me fix some channel mapping issues with my RD6000S[:D] I have to install a profile for my Stylus now, I bought an adapter so I can plug it into the Interface cable. I really like the sim, I had RFG2 Deluxe w 3 add on discs before and I got myself a new Dell PC 4.5 months ago and didn't even bother to reload RF and I really did not want G3.5 as it wont support my Stylus. I wasn't super impressed by RF but it was fun. The first time I tried AFDP I flew the P51 and took off flew around for a bit then shot a landing approach and landed (Okay one bounce) on the runway. That was something difficult for me before as I really felt as if I couldnt see the runway to line up on approach. I am sure that G3.5 is much better with the problems I had and probably would have bought it but it would not support all my radios. I do have a question for you guys with super fast PC's I am running two GeForce 7800 GTX 256MB video cards in SLI configuration. When I look at the Frames per second meter in the small box on the corner it reads 60 all time and never goes above or below, not even the numbers to side of the decimal point. I know I need to tweak my video cards but I was curious what you all are getting? With everything turned up high the screen never even flinches its silky smooth? Thanks for any help or info. Viper

Mike, thanks for letting me know I really had no intention to do it until after I loaded Starflight I think you told me in a PM or Mail but it stuck with me. I am sorry if I was frustrating you on the phone but now that I understand the software mapping channels is a piece of cake!.[:D] I am very happy with my choice and I cant believe my PC runs at 600+fps with everything turned up to high it will be interesting to see what happens when I update my video boards driver and sound card driver Thanks Again Joe PS: I defintely dont want to reload the program[;)]

RE: AFPD Success!
Thanks Mike, I need to go on to my video cards site and get the latest driver versions as the ones I have are about a year old and I will all look at the Creative site for my sound card. I forgot to order StarFlight today so I could have it Xmas Oh well I will order it tonight and get it next week. I am looking forward to trying out the new planes and scenery. All in all I am very happy with my choice in flight sims I really do like it. I still need to setup my Stylus I'll probably do it this weekend. One thing thats very cool is that in Expert setup mode you can use your radios EPA and EXPO its very cool. I will download the patch for Starflight. THanks Again Joe

RE: AFPD Success!
Thanks Harley, that did the trick now my FPS stay at 600+ and the sim is smooth even with everything turned on and up high[:D][:D] I am very impressed by the sim I have only flown a couple of planes but with the seamless awesome graphics and the fact that I can use my own transmitters is great. I had thought about G3.5 and I am sure its also a great sim but it wont support my radios and I really dont want use that box that I had to with G2. The physics of the planes in AFDP are awesome I shot an approach with the P51 and was able to land on the runway with the flaps down and I could actually flare for the touchdown and it just felt real (Okay I bounced once[8|]) I need to download the newest drivers for my video cards if there are any my PC is just barely 5 months old. I am very happy with its performance and tomorrow I am buying the second add on disc Starflight and see how it works with the new planes and scenery. Thanks Again Viper

RE: Futaba vs. Airtronics vs. Hi Tec
Wow its real nice to see a segment all be it small using Airtronics, I have been flying them for 20+ years now and I have an RD 6000S and Stylus before them two Visions and a Module ETC. I really wish that Airtronics would make a 10 or 12 channel Stylus[8|] That would be very cool with all the newer planes and jets these days your channels can get used up pretty quick. IMO I would like to see a direct competitor to the new Futaba 12 channel! One very nice thing for me is that I live about 20 minutes or less from Airtronics and know the people there well they have always given nothing but stellar customer service. Its nice not to have to ship your radio out and I have them service my TX's and RX's when I have downtime for building whatever. Viper 21

RE: My Airtronics TX wont work correctly with my new copy of AFPD?
Okay Mike, all that is done as you specified however when I go into the Windows game controllers applet I have same problem with incorrect axis on my transmitter when I try to calibrate? The only controller in the Windows applet box for controllers and it say Ikarus Interface and says OK but I cant get the right stick to work correctly it reversed? Any ideas, I read the manual about 4 times at least that part but I can get past the first step of calibration because of the controls. I hope I wont have to learn how to fly with my aileron stick for elevator and elevator on aileron[:o] Any help is appreciated, Joe

I have Not Installed the add on disc only the program disc. My Airtronics TX wont work correctly with my new copy of AFPD?
Hi Mike, I just received my new copy of AFPD with the Airtronics USB interface and I am going to use my RD6000S and Stylus I purchased a adapter for my Stylus to connect to the USB interface. The program runs beautifully my computer runs it very nicely with killer graphics and it looks great on my wide 27 LCD monitor. My problem is that the controls on my RD6000 do not work correctly. When I go to calibrate my RD 6000S in the Windows Game controller section it shows up in the calibration window as an Ikarus USB control, when I click properties then calibrate the right stick on the TX is reversed. The elevator stick acts as the aileron axis when I pull the elevator stick down or up it makes the ailerons function ? Then when I use the ailerons the elevator functions I am kind of lost I know that the channels in the program can mapped but I did not want to screw something up. The rudder stick and throttle are not working correctly either, the throttle stick looks like its acting as the rudder because it centers and I don’t get full throttle throw just halfway but if I move the rudder stick it works like the throttle. Is it possible the program has Mode 1 set instead of Mode 2 for my transmitter? I don’t have a clue but I will go onto the OMB site and download the full manual and if your not sure what to do I will post on the RCU forum. I would appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks Mike Joe

I also purchased a conversion plug from the round DIN plug to the DSC plug on my Stylus. AFDP and TTI Airtronics Interface will It work?
Hi, I have a TTI from Tom this is his site http://www.tti-us.com/sim/index.htm I have an RD 6000 S and a Stylus and I also bought his adapter for my Stylus to plug into the normal interface plug. This the USB version of his interface it works well with G2 but I recently got my self a new Dell XPS 600 that I had them build to my specs so I would like to take advantage of the PC and buy a copy of Aero Pro Deluxe. I remember when I bought the interface that he told me that I couldnt use the cable with the new interlink on G2 or G3 at all. I have tried to contact him but he wont return my emails? So I was hoping someone might know if the interface would work with the program before I buy it and find out that it wont Thank You for any help. RE: Should I Install a Brushless Motor In My T3?
Thanks Guys, I have all the Deans Ultra plugs and wire and everything else needed including a couple of good chargers also have the batteries actually I can build a Lipo pack for it if I wanted too. I have zapped round cells also. Would the 6.5 wind be okay for my T3? And is anyone still driving T3's since the T4 came out as I probably wont make to the track unless I can find one thats close by and indoors, I will need a power supply I use a new sealed car battery now to charge my packs at home and the field it weighs a ton. Hunter, I have an Airtonics M8 Fm radio thats never been used and two Airtronics 3 channel RX's one is going in my Savage 4.6 I will be getting. Thanks much for the help. Viper
