Marutaka Cessna 310 Conversion
Looking for a little help on a conversion. I got a Marutaka 310 that is suppose to end up at 9-10 lbs. Calls for 2 .40 glow engines. I would like to get a setup that gives me around 10 min of flight with the same performance I would get from the glow engines. Thanks Doug

RE: Global Jet Club / JHI F4D Skyray Product Release
Mine is one of the first prototypes made. I am using Robart retracts and robostruts. I am sure the new version with the new gear is great also. Mike at Global Jets does a great job.

RE: Global Jet Club / JHI F4D Skyray Product Release
Sap I got one. Flies wonderful. Mine has a RAM 500 in it. With the conformal tanks I get about a 10 min flight.

RE: Sachs 4.2 vs. G62
Sorry for the misunderstanding. My 4.2 is a Magneto. I just use the pur power muffler and engine mount. Sounds really nice.

I'm not using the throttle couple. I just use the muffler assembly with the engine mount.

Hopeing one of you gas gurus can help me. How does a Sachs 4.2 on Byron Pur Power exhaust compare with a G62 with Slimline pitts exhaust? I know the sachs is larger in displacement. Thanks D

RE: Global Jet Club / JHI F4D Skyray Product Release
MIke looks good as usual. Guys don't know if any of you were there or not, but I flew one of the original prototypes at Mississippi Afterburner this year( Mike has promised to make it next year. A great flyin to attend if none of you have ever been to it.). Mine has a RAM 500 in it now. Also flew it with a P-60 earlier. Both turbines were great combos with it. I believe the P-60 gets a little better gas milage though. Anyway it's a great flying jet as is the little Sabre. Doug

RE: Problem Pack
What do you mean by c/10? Would that be 1/10 of C, or 240mah since it is a 2400mah pack? Thanks

Problem Pack
OK Guru's need some learnin. I have a 4.8v CP2400SCR 2400mah Nicd pack. The pack has only been used a few times. I have noticed that it seems to lose a charge after sitting for a few days lately. ( I know it is bad and will not use it. Just wanted to know if it is something I have done or not done) This morning I charged the pack fully at 1C. Then went of to run some errands for about 3 or 4 hours. When I got home, I charged the pack again(took 500mah to top off). Then I discharged it and at the end, it said 1366mah. 1 cell on the end gets warm when charging, but not when discharging. Anyone tell me what happened to it? As I said it hasn't been used much, has sat for awhile unused, but still looks brand new. Thanks D

.60 glow to Electric COnversion
Need some help converting my VQ P-38 to Electric. It now has OS Max .61FX. I wish to convert it to electric but would like to keep the same power and speed that I get from the .61. Can anyone give me a good conversion? I would like to get at least a 10 min flight out of it. I have read 2 conversions already for the same plane, but was told the conversions they used was closer to a .90 size glow and out of my price range. They had over $1000 in battery packs alone. Thanks D

RE: Conversion
TianCi are you suggesting to use only 1-5S1P 5000mah pack per motor? I would love the vertical, who wouldn't. My problem is, I am new to Electrics. I have this airplane that I am considering to convert as well as some small DF Jets( 1 uses a 3S1P 3000mah, the other a 4S1P 4000mah). So to spend $1500 on battery packs that I might possibly only use in this P-38 has me nervous. So a more basic question, What would a great conversion be for a .60 2 stroke Nitro engine be? Wanting the same speed and power I would get from the 2 stroke, and run times of around 10min. Thanks D

RE: 12FG Linking Problem
Well, since we can't figure out my G3 RX and I can get the TX 2.4 module and a 14 channel RX for roughly the same price as a new G3 RX I have another question. Can I use the 2.4 modules without losing all my other saved models in my TX? Can I swith from 72 mhz and 2.4 and fly all my planes? Thanks Doug

Conversion
Was hoping someone might briefly explain something to. I am relatively new to electrics and have a P-38 that I am thinking of converting. I have read in the Conversion forum threads pertaing to the conversion I would need, but am dumbfounded on why such a big pack and prop are needed. The 2 conversions I have seend are: 1. (I used 2 AXI 4130 16, 77 amp lithium supported speed controls, 3S4P8000 x 2 thunder power packs on each motor. 15X10 props pulling 42 amps) This one said he could get a run time of around 30mins 2. (It has AXI 41/30/16's, CC Phx 60's, Master Airscrew 3 blade (counter rotating) 16x10 cut to 15", TP6s3p6000ProLite's each side) This one has not stated a run time. Now my questions, Why do you need such a large prop(15x10)? This plane calls for .40-.46 2 stroke glow. Mine has .60's in it with 12x6 3 blade props and flies great at 16lbs. Also if you wanted a run time of only 10-15min, could 1/2 the battery size/pack? Say a 3S4P 4000 x 2 per side? Thanks D

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***
I don't do it for the added upfront expense of around $150 for ignition, plug, and bearings. I have anough in this engine as is, and have other gas engines if I can't get this one running. Fuji, finally got it running. Used a new OS #8 plug and 20% Heli fuel I had. Didn't have any new airplane fuel on hand. Also I went in to the diaghram and bent the lever on the needle arm as you suggested. Alos I used the same fuel I have tried before, and it also runs now. So It's running, and at least I can try to fly the plane now. I am having 2 things happen now however that I can't quite figure out. 1. When I go to full throttle from idle it revs up really high for a about 5 seconds, then backs off a few hundred RPM. I thought it might be lean, but I can open the needle and there is no change. Also I can close the needle and after about 1/2 turn in, it starts leaning out. So I don't think it is lean. 2. Also after running full throttle for several seconds, when I go back to idle it runs at a fast idle for 10 or so seconds then idles down to idle speed. Also with the butterfly fully closed it continues to run for a minute or so before dying. Any ideas on these? Thanks

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***
Fuji I noticed earlier in this discussion you said to tap the engine on the motor mount but not on the exhaust side. I tapped mine on the exhaust side. Why do you say not to? D

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***
Thanks, I've been trying for 2 days now to get it to run. Seems to load up on low end, then If I make just the slightest movement towards leaning it on the low end, it dies, and won't restart. SO I have to richen the low again and go through the same process. With the low set where it will idle for a little,(still wants to load up) and move the stick to full throttle, right around mid throttle it will hesitate badly with lots of smoke, and you have to eithert go back to idle or jockey the throttle stick and finally it will go to full RPM. But again, if you lean the low end the most minute amount, it dies and won't restart until you richen it up. I don't know, I'm at the end of my wits with this Supertiger. For what I have in it trying to get it to run good, I could have bought a nice gasser of same or bigger size. D

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***
Fujiman, would you or anyone else happen to know what the needle settings are for the WT499 on a ST2300? I got my low end adjusted for a good idle, but the top end just seems like I can't get it richened up enough. D

RE: 12FG Linking Problem
Thanks for the reply Krysta, But I've tried 3 differnt battery packs fully charged, and also I've tried switching to every socket on the RX. Still nothing. I am running a Retract failsafe to extend the gear if the air pressure drops, and the LED light on it comes on when I turn the battery switch on. It plugs into the RX on the Retract channel. So I assume there is power going through the RX. As I said I ran this plan a few weeks ago, and only charged my battery pack since then. When I took it out to fly this weekend and switched it on, it did nothing. Any more ideas?
