RE: Charger RC
I've been flying the cr1-pro for 3 years now (the same plane.) not different cr-1's over the past three years. Flying on an average of three times a week sometimes more, the foamy is out living the servos. I'm an avid 3D-er comfortable with all the maneuvers possible. I've even taken a great design and made it better. My set up is Axi 2208/34, 8 amp esc. hs 55's elev. and rudd., one hs 65 for ails., tp 730 3 cell and a slow fly 10 x-3.8 apc prop. r.t.f. weight 12 1/4 ozs. amazing plane. VINNY

RE: Funtana X100
Hi all, I have a 100X on the way, need to know if anyone tried an OS 160. I know I'll have to strenghten the engine box. I have a YS 110 in a funtana 90S but had to add a considerable amount of weight plus a 5 cell battery up front. trying to avoid useless weight. Thanks Vinny

charger rc cr-1pro
Flew my friend Steve's chargerrc cr-1 pro yesterday, nice honest foamy, was very confident with low altitude manuvers within the first few minutes. Power was an axi 2212/34 with an 11x5 graupner prop. I ordered one today, will probably go with same set up as Steve, who by the way is an accomplished pilot both rc and full size. If anyone is flying the same plane please let me know your set up. Vinny " save a tree fly a foamy."

As an arf there's not much to do, i'm going with jr 811's' electron six rec., depending on weight a 5cell nickel metal, OS 46-fx on 30% with a 12-3/4x 3-3/4 apc. I almost forgot to mention all hinges are spot gluded in ele, rud, ail., what a nice touch. vinny

Hi all, met with Dion yesterday and picked up my extra 260, Dion took the time to open the box and go thru the components with me. Really superb looking build and cover job. I still can't get over the fact of servo leads being supplied. I'm looking foward to getting this one ready. I'll keep all informed. vinny

Appogee. recently tried TP 910, great flight times but a little heavy 3 cell 730 TP would be a better choice. I really love the yaks looks and flying ability. Have Fun, Vinny! RE: ETOC ( QUIQUE'S PLANE)
With the p/p rudder set up located on the bottom of the fuse. landing in grass without gear would yank the servo out in no time. I fly the Quique Yak foamy at 12-1/4 ozs. on ball field and land on the clay/dirt infield, great for touch n goes. Vinny

I agree with bdavison I have been flying both the edge and superstar, don't use all the triangular blasa, use as little adhesive as possible, the more flex the structure has the better it will handle those occasional mishaps. my indoor set up. axi 2204/54, jetti 4 amp sc, 8x3.8apc slowfly, polks hobby 4gram servos [the black ones] 4channel gws rec. kokam 2cell 340 ma lipo. good 8+ minutes of flying and hovering catching plane after every flight. 5.25ozs. great set up. hope this helps . RE: good engine for GP CAP232 40?
I'm in the final stages of framing up the GP Cap kit, I Plan on installing my OS46 FX with a 12x4-5 prop. I am confident this plane is capable of most aerobatics. I don't feel that the designer of this kit had 3D in mind, but who knows in the right hands anything is possible. Good Luck ! VINNY

RE: I am starting to hate 3d flying
I agree with you Devin, 3-D has had a profound impact on the hobby, club members are always talking about how 3-D flying while other pilots are trying to stay within a pattern is very risky unless there is constant communication between pilots. That communication also becomes a distraction, which results in loss of concentration. Don't take this the wrong way, I admire the site of a model hovering inches from the ground, but 3-D flying should be limited to one model at a time, especially giant scale. 3-D flying has taken the hobby by storm, but unfortunately it has also changed the way flying fields function. Thanks, Vinny!

Hey Dan, you know I'm having a blast with mine! So relaxing yet with only a 1/2 inch diehedral the plane is quite responsive. My set up is O.S 46, 12/4 wood prop, 15% nitro, standard servos and the plane will hang on the prop. Great plane for enjoying the hobby. See you at the field! Vinny
