RE: How does motor attach to pull start?
i learned this one the hard way too. you would think redcat would show the bearing in the manual but they dont. Its not a cheap part either to be throwing away with the broken pull starter like i did. Maybe redcat could do a revision to their manual's and add a note reminding you of the one way bearing packed into the pull starter.

RE: Clutch Bell
it goes in the same way but i had to add 2 5x10x.5 HPI washers to the outer set because the HPI clutch wiggles a little with the stock set of bearings and washers. Hope that helps.

volcano pull start
So all 4 screws in my pull start backed out on thanksgiving and i wanted to know if anyone knew what size they were. The manual doesn't give a size and i would rather go to my lhs or lowes and get new ones. Thanks for any help.

RE: Volcano SV problem
all stock, only thing i did was put the front shock mounts on the lower most outer hole and the back in the upper most inner hole makes it look like a trophy truck. really it was a compression wheelie, he came off a little hill and hit the throttle and it brought the nose right up.

RE: Volcano SV problem
so i think i know the prob. i bought some non redcat drive cups and they were round all the way instead of the flat spot on the redcat ones. so they spin freely. so i guess i need to order some new drive cups

Volcano SV problem
So i took my truck out today and after about 3 mins it just rolled to a stop even though i was on the gas. Now when i pick it up and hold it and give it gas the tires turn and everything is good. When its on the ground though you can pin it out and it wont budge. Thought maybe it was the clutch but the spring is good and like i said it works fine when the wheels arent touching the ground. any advice? please help....

RE: is the sv good
Yeah its a tough little truck. I recomend upgrading the shocks to the aluminum ones though. I bent or broke all eight in the first two weeks i had it. you can get the redcat ones or traxxas t-max shocks work too. Upgrade the pipe as well to an aluminum one. i broke the OEM pipe and noticed a little power gain with the aluminum one. good luck man

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
I'm new to this sport and recently bought a Volcano SV and LOVE IT!!! After breaking in the engine and getting the concept of these powerful little trucks i decided i would see what it could do in the air. I was hitting a little 8 foot gapper and clearing it but on my last attempt things went terribly wrong. I broke the left front lower arm, broke the support piece on the cheap stock exhaust, and bent the back left axle. My question is when i went to pull the axel out it wouldn't budge from the rear upright even with the two grub screws removed, how is this accomplished? My other question was if anyone had any good suspension setups for max travel and landing? Thanks, aaron
